No, wait. Can you "edit" that post and look at it. At bottom "disable bb code" is checked along with your sig line. I wonder if you inadvertently hit that or if it is always checked?

HRH awakened me from a nap (quite correctly) to tell me President Carter had died. Amazing that there can be so much to process from an event long expected - we've done little else since, including suppertime.

I've found and bought 4 used paperbacks of Why Not the Best in the last hour or two. This is ds' fault, his having famously thrown away my dmother's hardbound copy years ago because he didn't understand why she still wanted a book she already read. (gaaaaasp - fainting icon) There will be one for each of our kids, along with that family story. For some reason, knowing that had happened was one thing. Knowing it had happened, but we hadn't replaced it yet - more than I was willing to stand through today.

hello again

mom is watching tv. I still have to fold laundry, put away laundry, empty dw rinse down counters, sweep floors in kitchen, put soup in freezer, put mom's cloths in dryer, wash her delicate sweater and put on towel.

tomorrow: homemade chicken tenders, squash farro dish, salad
10:30 meet neighbors
one errand to wil Sonoma barnes and nobles (calendar mom)., pull items for cleaners, call junk king for old couch

last of dishes in dw washing themselves, soaking stove top
soup is now in freezer for the month
time for mom's meds
swept the floor in kitchen
counters are clean
flip and flop laundry
towels put away

cold seems to come back at night time when I am tired. I am drained.
goal tomorrow:
know what I can and can not do... what I can change and what I can not change. Find gratefulness along the way!

It's been a very up/down day -- well not TOO MUCH "up" but more of an "I'm probably not going to throw up and I think I can do this" vs "I can't stand this I've got to have something to calm me down" day. Don't worry -- I am having NO second thoughts re: calling my family doctor tomorrow -- SURELY he will give me something to get me past this crisis point, even if he doesn't want to add something that will help with all the travel/social anxieties.
I still cannot eat -- all I want is fountain diet cokes, with lots of ice... cold...
I did eat maybe a fourth of a 6" Subway sandwich and a very few potato chips at lunch. Then when dgs wanted Taco Bell at supper, I just got a diet coke.
I've talked to my mom a couple times... she called when I was out putting the garbage at the road, and I was feeling better, and I started crying when I started talking to her. I've probably worried her to death... That was the third time I talked to her today, and I told her I was trying to stay busy (doing laundry) and I probably needed to just quit talking and keep at it.

The first time I talked to her was because I was in total nauseated panic...
the second time was to tell her that my great-uncle had passed away, my ddad's uncle. He would have turned 95 in February, and he had been in amazing shape for his age until a week or so ago -- had a heart attack and was in rehab when he died. His great-granddaughter got married the evening he died -- but she posted on FB that she and her new husband went straight to the rehab center after the wedding reception, still in their wedding clothes, and he got to see her in her dress, and talked to them. So it was certainly a bittersweet day for them, I know.
I do not really know the bride at all, but I know her dad, and her grandfather (my dad's first cousin) and grandmother very well.
This kinda puts a kink in my plan to schedule the biopsy ASAP, because I want to see the arrangements for this funeral before I schedule it.

Oh my... just typing that brings a wave a nausea...

I have also talked to dbil and his fiance today, and DS a couple of times. We are still planning to eat at dbil's tomorrow night for our final Christmas celebration...

AND I have talked to daunt and Dcousin. Dcousin called to ask how to spell our grandmother's name. :) The great-uncle's daughter needed it for the obituary -- our grandmother was his sister. Dcousin also invited me to their family New Year's Eve party -- just finger foods, etc... at their church. They've reserved the fellowship hall and will be there from 7:30 or so till midnight. I told her we would try to come... because y'all know how I've griped about being left out sooo much. I told Dcousin about the biopsy. She of course said she felt sure it was nothing to worry about, but being human, of course I'd feel nervous.
I could just take potato chips and dip, couldn't I, to this affair? I hope DS can go to that with me, even if ddil is not feeling well.
Daunt just called back -- she has some memory issues also. She wanted to know if I had heard any funeral arrangements.

So -- I have been busy today --
* clean sheets on the bed
* all the laundry done (except towels and underwear)
* some PUPA in den and kitchen
* drove the truck
* watched some of the coverage of Jimmy Carter's death
he didn't understand why she still wanted a book she already read. (gaaaaasp - fainting icon
Oh my gosh, Harriet... I too am gasping. It is sooo hard, practically impossible, for me to get rid of ANY book, even romance novels, if I really liked them. Your DS would be horrified at the number of books in this house -- even old textbooks! It is beyond ridiculous. But decluttering these will be a long time coming.

I need to do my allergy shots and get a shower. I want to shower tonight so if the doctor can see me in the morning, I will be ready to go.

(((dear lucylee))) I wish I could ease your mind. I hope your doctor is able to see you tomorrow and give you a little peace.

Didn’t do too much today. Went with DC to give blood. I made the mistake of saying “Whoa!” as I got down from the donation table? bed? whatever you would call it, and they made me get right back up on it. I was just the eensiest bit lightheaded, but I was going to lie down with a compress on my forehead and drink a juice box, darn it! Once I finally got down (are they taller than they used to be, or is it just my difficulty in getting my big old body up there?), DC was just about finished, so we had our drinks and snacks and headed home.

I spent a good chunk of the day in my chair, either watching the show DC was watching or the game DD was playing or dozing off. I did get a load of the dreaded dress shirts done and started some other clothes.

I should get to bed soon; I have two virtual appointments tomorrow— the therapist and a nutritionist. The one with the nutritionist is at 9:30, way early for me. So I’m going to restock my pills and turn out the lights. Sweet dreams, everyone! (Get some sleep, Harriet!)
