dd younger had a neurologist for years after her all of her concussions - she lost her ability to read for a long time. She also went to him for migraines. I think seeing a neurologist is a very good idea -thank you. I will call him tomorrow and see if I can see him with mom. Thank you!!
I was looking into a geriatric dr. (my dd youngers best friend is a geriatric dr. and dd thinks she is wonderful but she is in Florida).
You have helped me more than you can know d rose!

Re: Magical Monday PWYC
Hi, I was wrong about the nausea, which came back later today. I did well through part of the morning.
Twins' it was cheering to read your start.
Got a really nice thank-you note in the mail to cousin's dd for all the pickles, and made it a little funny, too. And even found an ideal wintery stamp and a cute sticker for the back that was like canning.
HRH mailed that for me when he went out on errands. I was fine for him to go by himself because, a) I didn't feel so well, and b) He was in a state and needed some new surroundings. He'd been struggling to explain to a Fed-Ex caller/employee who simply didn't have the English skills to understand that the photo of a package delivery was NOT our house. I finally had to get on the phone with her and start all over again. She could do nothing except read from her prompt-card, and her promise of a call-back today never happened. No idea when we'll ever get this delivery, and HRH is so disappointed.
dd44 came by with some Japanese (?) kit-kat bars. That's a new one on me - multiple flavors. Someday I will feel like eating.
There is some success on the sewing front, although all these little chores are just to finish a little project, so there's not much to show for the bits of time I give. I've got to try to do something, though. Yesterday's cleaning ability hasn't come back.
Living on British comedies and small meals.

Re: Magical Monday PWYC
For the record, my nausea was almost nil today so I seem to have got to the point of tolerating this med in a week. I'm having a tablespoon of All Bran Buds in the morning when I take my meds and today I noted the improvement.
The rest of the day was pretty productive. The living room and dining room were dusted and vacuumed, I sorted through the paper piles (but they aren't any neater yet) and enjoyed dinner that dh cooked. I will be cooking tomorrow night. Also paid the first installment on our cottage rent. Still not sure if I'm going through with the full 3 months or not but can afford the cancellation fee for now.
My meeting tonight went well, my first as secretary.
On the magical side of things we had a major "Christmas Movie" snowfall for about an hour. Big fluffy flakes coming down. It hit during rush hour so I'm sure the majority of people weren't happy with it but it looked pretty.
And a meeting summary and action item list was magically created by an AI software called Krisp which 'listened' to the meeting and created a transcript, summary, and action item list. The summary was pretty generic, the action item list was quite good and I didn't bother looking over the transcript but will if I need to when writing up the minutes. It was my first time using the app and I was quite impressed. I don't like the permissions its after (for instance full access to my calendar) but I got around those by using my throwaway hotmail account with its outlook calendar. Although, as I write this, I think that account is also my Microsoft Windows access account. Whoops. I will delete the software and start over with another account.

Re: Magical Monday PWYC
I have had my dinner and gotten the papers shredded up where I wanted to for now. Yea!
The boot boxes have been put back in the basement they are empty might come in handy for a diff. purpose.
SO glad to have that task done!
Now to decide where the keep papers go.
I did a few rounds of crochet on the hot pad that is my current project the last bright green one.
Hope you all are having good start to the week.

Re: Magical Monday PWYC
Just checking in -- I've had a pretty good day.
Took dmom to the pulmonologist -- she assured me that she could get herself to this doctor and the one tomorrow on her own, but she said that she does enjoy spending time with me, and right now, I guess I need all the distraction I can get, so I don't mind driving her over there. It's about 30 minutes each way for me, and these doctors are always on time and get her in and out pretty quick. She IS concerned about her foot to the point that she is seriously considering having a toe amputated.
I don't know WHAT to tell her in this regard... the doctor actually presented it as an option, and now she is in such pain that she is thinking about it. You know how your fingers look when you cross your fingers for good luck? Well -- that is exactly how her 2nd and 3rd toes do. One is completely crossed over the other. It puts a big limit on what shoes she can wear, and makes it very painful to walk. I don't know how she walks at all.
After I got her home, I went to
-- Wmart...
-- the drug store...
they left out one of my prescriptions! --
-- the hardware store, where I found out that (1) they will not have the bulb for my oven in stock until Thursday and that (2) this probably doesn't matter because I cannot get the bulb in anyway. I broke off the end of the bulb in the socket. After being in this oven for 39 years, it apparently just did not want to come out. I did not realize it had broken, because I thought it was just made differently than a regular light bulb. Sigh. DS said the man who is supposed to come back and fix my ceiling can probably manage the light bulb also.
-- paid electric bill
-- home, put away groceries... then to
-- the auto place where my brakes had been repaired. Owner advised I go back to transmission man re: transmission issue -- it "jerks" a bit when it changes gear the first time. I got home, and saw that I am 2 months past the 12 month warranty, AND approximately 1000 miles over the 12,000 mile warranty. Isn't that always the way of it? It has done this since he first fixed it -- BUT he said it would, for a WHILE, and then it would do right. Well. It never actually did "right." AND he kept it forever while he was working on it, and I felt he charged too much. I believe I will just live with it. I wonder if those ads on tv for the car repair places -- you know, where you pay something per month and they supposably take care of all repairs -- I wonder if those things are just scams are if they are really worth it.
Anyway -- ds & family took me to pick up the car, then they went on to eat and I came home, stopped and got myself a stuffed bbq potato and cheese sticks, and made some orange/grapefruit/cherry salad. Gave ds half of it when he came back for his truck. We felt "cheated"
because dmom forgot the cherries in this, one of our traditional Christmas dishes.
I also let ds and ddil convince me that the sweatshirt dniece got me for Christmas is not too tight, that the XL might look too baggy. I can wear the sweatshirt over a thin turtleneck and they do not think it looks tight. I might feel slightly more comfortable in the XL, but it might put me into the style of my late dmil who only wore mu-mus.
I have filed a few papers also, Nancy! That is using the term loosely. I put them in the drawer where dh stored all the stuff for taxes. I need to start getting that stuff together, I guess, but I am just not putting anything else on myself until I get the results of the biopsy. I just can't deal with anything else that requires me to focus and think and use brain power.
Nothing magical, but I've made it through. I have the Sunday School Ladies praying for me now and my pest control lady. She is coming Thursday, and the house may be in worse shape than she has ever seen it, but I can't help it. Getting past Wednesday is the best I can do right now.
Hope you all have a great day tomorrow!
