LadyM, I don't know how you do so much cooking. I'm exhausted! I have salad, bread, and brownies packed. Lasagne in oven, when it comes out I'll cover and get it all in the car and take off. I really should have done some of this yesterday. Hope this recipe is okay, I've not made it before.

Harriet, your dcousin has a lot of protection for his chickens. I bet you can taste the difference between his and commercial eggs.

LM, those are not your blunders. Your family should be responsible enough to put things on the list. That said, I know how that goes...

Rose, It's nice that Sweetie is able to keep himself busy puttering, especially now.

And I'm off! Dh is bowling tonight, I'll probably look in later, but not post again.

The ddoggo did not want to finish it for me she came inside with me!

I got half of the rolls & chicken froze up for later.
Sweet potato fries were great today with green beans.
I got a 20 min. nap in.
I need to get some more steps in and or do more stairs.

Winter storm warning is up for the parie 10" and mtns. around us 12" to 18" of snow in the forecast,
they are saying go prepared if you have to travel take food emergency supplies go bag etc.

Harriet, I thought about that -- appearance of second person in the house -- when I sold the truck. But it probably was not worth the stress of keeping the truck running to have that appearance of a man in the house. It is a bit of a relief that I don't have to think about the truck anymore, although the carport looks empty.
I am going to get the Ring doorbell for a security measure. DDIL is very pleased with theirs.

Weather -- yes -- LadyM, I'm afraid your cold temps are headed my way. Last night we did have a tornado warning -- sirens in town were blaring, we were in the "cone," and dgs and I went to ds' house, where ddil and her parents were already watching the weather -- it was about 11:30. I was JUST about to make DGS go to sleep. Well, we stayed there till about 12:30 and the front passed us, so we came on back to my house. Lots of rain, but I think the "condensation pans" (?) must be holding whatever is coming through. Apparently they are not running over. But ooohh, it is a lot colder already, and they are saying we may get a "wintry mix" Tuesday/Wednesday. Of course, I am not looking forward to that because I have to be out of the house most of the day and evening on Wednesday. (Pre-reg at hospital and meet doctor who will do the biopsy on the 26th.)

DGD is here and is dominating my time. She wants my attention almost ALL the time. But right now she is trying to sing like Elphaba (sp?) in Wicked, watching something on YouTube, and eating apple slices.
DDIL took DGS on a Mommy-Son "date" this afternoon. They ate at Olive Garden and went to a movie. That was his Valentine's Day gift from mom. DS got DGD a teddy bear for her Valentine's Day gift.

And I had a pleasant surprise at lunch -- DGD and I went to the local restaurant, right beside our church, and a lady in my Sunday School class invited us to sit with her and her husband at a large table where another member of the class and our organist were already sitting. Soon the pastor and another church member came in and the first Dfriend's husband paid for ALL of us!

DGD and I went to Sonic for supper but I wasn't impressed with my trial of the new "Smash burger." It is on a potato bun and I don't know if it was just all in my head or something, but it just seemed a little off.

I got a little teary this morning, talking to dbil's fiance about how it's all normal that I'm tired and stressed out with the tax stuff and the biopsy worry and everything... she said it was fine if occasionally I didn't want to get out of bed till 2:00 pm -- that I am "the captain of my ship" now. And she said it's hard, being the one in charge of EVERYTHING... and she said, "But... God sent me someone else..." and I said, "But I don't want him to send me anyone else."
She also told me that if someone said "GO," my answer should be "Let me get my purse," -- that I should do things and travel... and all those things that she doesn't know cause me to have a panic attack.

Fortunately, I don't cook a lot and I'm not crazy about eggs, so the price has not been high on my radar.

DGD wants to play UNO. She's getting tired and cranky... BBL.

It seems like cooking takes up a couple hours of my day. I try to get it started in the morning and work on it in between doing other things. I use the instant pot and air fryer almost daily because of the ability to press a button and walk away.
Getting the ingredients prep'd seems to be the most time-consuming part.

Locals are stressing out about the cold temps expected this week. Some are predicting temps will be in the range of -20 to -30F. I had an elderly lady call me this afternoon because she was so stressed. She built her home 30 years ago and never had anything freeze but she is stressing out about the possibility. DH just asked me how many faucets we need to let run. I told him none. We have never had any water freeze except for the water line going to toilet on the north side of the house. Hopefully this cold weather will be manageable and without damage.

DD48 dropped off some food that she cooked. A pan of chicken pot pie along with some biscuits with sausage gravy. This along with what I cooked earlier today should give a buffer in feeding the teens. Maybe. There are 4 teens in the house right now.....so who knows.

We had such an enjoyable time chatting with DS50 and his family. Their lives have not slowed down but just seem to keep getting busier with work, horse farm, equestrian events, cheer, basketball, musical (DGD14 has 2 solos), mountain bike racing, etc. This is the last few months of them having both teens living at home. DGS18 will move to university in a few months.

I did not finish all the tasks on my list, but I am pleased with what I accomplished. It is a list that can only be completed if I have no other things happening. Life is full and blessed so the remaining list items will just have to wait their turn.

I just sat and watched the SNL 50th anniversary show. Some good stuff, some not as good. Paul Simon was the first musical guest of tonight's show and Paul McCartney was the last musical guest of the evening. There were guests from the first cast. There were so many that I didn't know. I haven't watched SNL for a very long time. So glad I had a bap earlier so I could stay up and watch this.

Dh tried to clear part of the driveway. I'm so glad my car is in the garage. We are in for more snow tomorrow.
