our favorite hamberger place
Great minds think alike!
This is DH birthday weekend so on the way home from the city, I did a 45 minute detour to get him cheeseburgers from his favorite hamburger place. I bought him 3 large ones so DH can eat hamburgers all through his birthday weekend if that is what he wants. Birthday = eat whatever you want time!

I cooked 4 steaks (bottom round). I knew that it is typically a tough piece of meat, so I cooked them slow with extra fat/moisture. They still came out super tough. I don't know if I will try to redeem this tough meat by cooking longer in a soup. I'm a bit frustrated with myself for buying something that I knew would be difficult to eat.

It is 82F inside the house.
I am trying to resist turning a/c on.
I am trying to resist putting the new plants in the garden.
note to self....It will drop 40 degrees in the next 12 hours. Don't give in to this warm weather temptation.

DD48 is cooking for DS16, GF and DD13 tonight. I absolutely love this! I want DD48 to step into the Mom mode as much as she is capable. The teens are wise enough to recognize that the moments are to be enjoyed but not raise their expections that it will continue.

ANYway, this means we have no teens here for the next few hours. So....this leads me to wondering what normal people without kids do on a Friday night? hum....I have no clue.

Had a 20 min. nap.
Got out the front yard hose.

We actually did get to have a treat of a teen in the house here. DangerBoy got home from college today for his spring break. We enjoyed his visit to our house so much. He has straight As but insists he is also having fun. His mustache and goatee are so filled in now that it's hard to tell his age until he grins. As far as food for him, I succeeded in getting him to take the fancy chicken soup gift to his big family. We are enjoying the other vegetable one already, but it is going to last for days here.

I wish his brothers could have spring break at the same time, because they've missed him so much, but theirs is a different week. That's okay - he probably could use some down time without a lot to do.

I did get that laundry done.
Have been wearing my heaviest cross-trainer shoes around the house with the idea that I'll build some strength that way. Lately I've been wearing either nicer, smaller ones or the house shoes that look like street shoes but are very lightweight. Maybe during all this recuperation time I've needed, off and on, I haven't had the usual weight/stress while walking and this will be good for me. Just a thought.

blessed, yes, it is definitely me with the muscle weakness and some recent pain. HRH has aches and pains at times, but he has plenty of strength, to the point that lately I feel jealous he doesn't have to worry about that! Hope all your little seeds and seedlings are happy.

Also LadyM and Nancy, great job on getting ready for out-of-doors enjoyment.
