What. A. Day. And first let me say, I know my day does not compare AT ALL to what some of you are going through. But there must be something in the air. DDIL reports she had to perform CPR today... DS is stressing out, feeling like he's coming down with something before he leaves for a 4-day trip on Thursday... and dmom -- I'm stressing about dmom and this surgery, and her general condition overall.
My newspaper wasn't delivered today, and I locked my keys in the car -- giving thanks to God for OnStar.

TA DAs?
I delivered the tax info to the accountant. (And will take ds' tomorrow. SMH.)
I saw the allergy doctor who said I should probably be re-tested, but I could wait until next year.
I took dmom's lunch (supper?) to her and picked up a Rx for her. Stayed while her PT was there and talked with her. She is so kind to dmom.
Home... supper... (service station pizza which has me feeling kinda queasy now. But that may be nerves.)
I washed towels and underwear but they are still in the dryer.

NERVES --
because I have to get up at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, pick up dmom at 8:00, and have her to the eye doctor by 8:45.
-- I do not think there is anything wrong with her eyes; I think whatever is causing the recent falls is probably affecting her vision. DSIL says likely electrolyte imbalance.
because after that we need to visit the assisted living facility,
-- and although that is truly an answer to prayer re: dmom's recovery from surgery, (and she actually brought it up -- I'm not forcing her into this.) But it makes me so nervous for her to HAVE surgery. She can barely complete a sentence without losing her train of thought right now, and she struggles often to come up with the name of a person or place.
-- also, she is going to have to have a cell phone she can use before she spends two months at the assisted living. I don't want her to be there without access to a phone. She currently has two cell phones but neither is working. Difficulty with set up, etc.
because she thinks she wants to go to the mall (B*lk) to try on shoes, since the ones I gave her for her birthday are men's sized, not women's.
-- How I did that, I do not know.
because we will have a long day tomorrow, with the eye doctor at 8:45 and the shoulder doctor at 1:00 pm.
-- and at this point, 30 minutes with dmom has me wanting to climb the walls.

And I know I should be mopping her kitchen floor and washing her dishes and doing something about all the clutter on the counters and the kitchen table, but it just completely overwhelms me. The refrigerator is absolutely running over with all sorts of stuff, barely room to put 6 small bottles of G*torade in there last night, and the fast food salad I took her today just had to be put on top of other things. She has begun recycling... which means there are W*lmart bags hanging on the drawer pulls with other bags and water bottles in them, and assorted cans -- drink cans, fruit cans, etc. sitting around waiting to be put in the bag/box outside in the garage. And yes, I think she did get rid of the mouse in one of the kitchen drawers, but it certainly makes me nervous.
Y'all, my mother was absolutely BEAUTIFUL in her younger days -- I mean, even up to the death of my ddad. She was a COMPLIANCE OFFICER at the bank and an accounting major in college. She would have a CPA degree if she had passed one more portion of the exam. She has always been taller and thinner than me. She was a majorette in high school and when I was young she kept a large garden, sewed most of my clothes and hers, mowed the yard... and was obviously the youngest mother in my friend group. It is just sooo depressing and brings on a lot of anxiety for me to see her actually aging. How on earth can she be 80 years old???

So that sums up my day.

OTOH, I hope it was a perfect day for two members of my family. DBIL got married today. Just them and the preacher -- we will all have a dinner celebration this weekend. DDIL and I will go with the dgrands; DS will be out of town.
Tomorrow is another day.

CUOP briefly, after my long rant (above.)

Sending lots of (((HUGS))) and prayers to blessed, Cathy, and LadyM for concerns with husbands, AND to blessed for added concern with dmom.
AND lots of (((HUGS))) and prayers to Harriet, who is thinking "suck it up, buttercup" as she reads my list of anxieties.
Tomorrow is another day.
