Hi, Paigealle and Peaches!
New paint, new lights, new door! Yaay for all that, laurlind!
I'm about half through with reading the paper I am to edit.

Dog has urped several places, after being served hamburger :(
She seems hungry, so I boiled her an egg and chopped some ham - she really likes ham. she has 2 weeks until her dental care, and I'm thinking that she has some definite tooth issues. Or something else, as eating is a challenge. She is a lifeline for mother, so she has to stay well!

The side of my foot hurts (where it usually hurts, which is not the site of the issue, which is top of the middle of the foot. ) but overall, I think the non-weight bearing is helping. Trying to think about how I can manage taking her to see mother, along with Easter cards to address, and use my crutches!

So nice to see you here, Paige! Are you making homemade chicken pot pie? Yum!!
That's nice you can get back into your professional life a little, Gma. I hope your foot is OK.
WTG on the painting progress, Lauralind.
Those are very nice bday gifts, L Ann.
How's the laundry room coming, Bama?
Sounds like a lovely day with your boys, FFB, with a little nostalgia thrown in.

Main Goals for Today:
1. Shopping for small items for Mom.
2. Good progress setting up Mom's room
3. Payroll - finish 2 exams for exam prep

Other Goals for Today:
- Exercise - jog in the sunshine!
- clean sheets on the bed (maybe?)
- tidy the bedroom; my clothes are all over the place - I just got a Stitch Fix + an order
- gas the car
- arrange a time to meet with CV and dbro while in IL - wip

Dh doesn't think I need to prioritize the shopping for Mom. I can just bring stuff when she arrives on Thursday -- but that day will already be so crammed (packing up last minute things for Mom, driving 6 hours by myself, meeting her at the home and making sure she has everything, and then a 7:30 show. . . ) that I think I'd feel better getting some stuff to her beforehand. Maybe I could stop by the NH on Monday?

M is inviting 2 people to our Easter dinner that I don't know. Dd29 has invited one friend, but I do know her. That makes 11 people for Easter dinner. I have no idea when I'm going to shop or even plan for Easter dinner with the travels and move T-Th next week. And a scheduled Monday (extra payroll) before I go -- and a similarly scheduled Friday (extra payroll + church service 30 minutes away) when I return. I could shop on Saturday - that feels late but that might be the best I can do. I'm sure dh will help a lot with the cooking - but not with the cleaning, which he always thinks is unnecessary. *sigh* I'll pray that I can be gracious. Sometimes, I just get tired of reaching out and hosting/ taking care of so many people. I guess it's a gift that I have the strength and resources to do that -- but sometimes, I get burnt out. Thanks for listening to my whine! :D

We will host CG2 the weekend after Easter. I will not volunteer to host CG2 next Saturday, the Saturday before Easter. That would really put me over the edge - plus we just hosted it. We used to have a tradition that the CG kid annual Easter egg hunt was done at our house. . . Well, not anymore!

Next:
- payroll: finish AR Exam
- payroll: work on LBBR Exam
- make bed

Later:
- kitchen clean
- make bed
- Tarjay for small items
- gas car
- payroll: AR Exam draft ready for review
- payroll: LBBR Exam draft ready for review
- dinner: cumin pasta (fr. freezer), green salad
- after dinner clean up
- update health apps WW + MFP
- duo
- read?
- other things?

TaDas
- up; weighed self - up from yesterday (restaurant food last night?)

- back exercises
- dressed to jog
- short-ish jog at arb

- NH with dh; helped him put together the dresser. He ordered a nice one.

This will probably be a little disjointed but I'll give it a shot. I hope it makes some sort of sense.

License plates/stickers ~
A new license -- When you get a new car, move to a new state, first time car ownership, and sometimes states will randomly decide they want a new logo/design - you will get a physical plate - and a registration. You cannot get a new one by mail or online. You have to go in person to the DMV.
To renew - you get a sticker that goes on the plate. When I was younger, you also had to go to the DMV to renew. Somewhere in time, as an adult, they started trying to streamline the process of renewal by access through mail. The renewal notice that comes in the mail has your car vin number - license plate number - proof of insurance - ID data on it. If you want to renew that license - send back the form with money - and they'll send you a sticker. If you renew in person, you take your ID, proof of insurance, and old registration. With your license renewal, you also get an updated registration. You can now renew online, which I've never done, so I don't know how that works.

Drivers' License ~
You have to go in person to the DMV to get a new one - and to renew. Those are not renewed by mail or online. You have to go in person. A new one requires 2 or 3 specific forms of identification.

Car inspections ~
All new cars are "up to code" - and it's been that way here in the US for a long time. When new "codes" are put into law, they're not automatically applied to older cars. Omg, that would be a nightmare here. Obviously, older cars are phased out when they kick the bucket. I can't remember a time in my life where there's ever been a government inspection of cars in the states where I've lived. We, personally, get inspections on used cars we're looking to buy just to make sure we're not being scammed. The bottom line is that car inspections are not part of the licensing protocol here.
