Make list of outstanding jobs on the house and send to Handyman A. DF PM, who has been mentoring him through some difficult turns his life has taken, thinks he may be ready to start some jobs again. (If he doesn't reply in a reasonable time, or doesn't want to do anything, then I'll look for someone else, but I would prefer not to do that). Off the top of my head, clean gutters and the swan neck on the downpipes where "stuff" tends to accumulate, clean cladding back and front and downpipes, and short return wall as well. Replace the bit of mortar that's fallen out of the edge of the roof (I think its called the verge?) , fix dripping kitchen tap ( new washer?), sort out cabinet that wobbles, fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. More as I think of them?

( Texted 10/3 and still waiting for a reply over a month later

)
Update: text him again first thing Monday

If no reply by the end of the month, then definitely look for someone else (DF PM is also starting to become exasperated with his reluctance)
Steps to take to find a replacement: ask friends, look on local sources eg Nextdoor for recommendations
I may have to split the jobs between different people this year if I can't find someone who's good at a variety of skills
For gutter cleaning, Dneighbours R and A used Ben's gutters -are they pleased with the work? Does BG also clean cladding? Do they have a website? Yes

Also The E Gutter Cleaners -they have good reviews
Prepare my "job spec" WIP
Fill in free quote forms for both the above companies
Wait and see the results!
Kitchen tap - DF E has given me the phone number if her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?
Garage gutter - probably a handyman needed here - Text /message a few likely candidates and see what happens. Does Dneighbour R2 do handyman type jobs? I know he's done work for Dneighbour R in the past, but that was larger jobs, like laying a path!
I need to find a new podiatrist - I don't know anyone who regularly uses one, so I need to do my homework:
Look online - are they taking on new clients? ( Many people aren't ATM as there is a shortage

no) Are they registered with the HCPC? Check their registration numbers to ensure they match! ( This should ensure I see someone who is properly qualified and adheres to straight levels of hygiene) Do I like the "feel" of the place from the website? Is it easy to get to? (Somewhere miles out with no parking nearby is not going to be suitable). The Foot Clinic is looking promising, the only downside is they are a bit pricey. I guess you get what you pay for! Find a date and time that's suitable and book an appointment!
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)
Change health centres to the one nearest us?
On hold ATM , but I'll leave it on my list so I don't forget.
