Maybe it will help someone else:
Unplugging did not work.
Hitting the control panel, with an open palm , did!
(My apppliance repair man showed me once)

I will never get a front loading machine...

Hello, everyone! Just a quick CI as it's been one of those days! Freddie's not been well -he went from, "a bit off his food" at 7 am to, "he needs a vet now!" by 7.45 am. :( So, I rang the out of hours emergency vet and we got an appointment. I took DH with me, so I could drop him at church. While I was waiting g I managed to text CK and DF PM to say I wouldn't be able to do chalice this morning, nor serve.

The vet was brilliant, despite being preset with a recalcitrant patient. She wanted to examine Fret, and even brought in a nurse armed with gauntlets and a towel, (!) but he wasn't having it , and tried to attack when she reached into his cage, so he needed up being sedated. Long.story short, the vet suspected either a bladder blockage or a flare up of his IBD. The examination ruled out the former, so he's been given an anti sickness shot (he had pain felt as part of the "cocktail" he is given when he is sedated).

So as Freddie was in safe hands, and I knew it would be a while before I could collect him, I made it to church - very late - but in time for the most important parts. Then I went to see DF E, and we had cot and a.nice chat.

I was finally able to collect Fred at 2.30 pm, and by then the place was like the first day of the sales, mostly with chocolate - eating dogs. Poor Freddie was very "out of it" still -he has to have hight doses to ensure mo one is attacked - and slept for the rest of the afternoon and most of the evening ,.still in his carrier. He's had a little GI wet food to eat, so I'm hoping he's on the mend

We didn't eat lunch until nearly 5 pm, (I didnt want to start cooking until I was back home) but it was roast lamb, roast potatoes, gravy, mint jelly, tenderstem broccoli, carrots and peas, followed by apple pie and cream.

I managed a nap on the sofa, but I'm still tired. I'm very glad tomorrow is a bank holiday!

Hi everyone, and Happy Easter to those celebrating. I'm late getting here, as it's been a full day.
Drive to NH to get Mom
Back for church -- so thankful for dbro, who managed both my knee scooter and Mom's wheelchair in and out of his rented SUV.
Yummy cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit at church before worship. (Long ago, when we were much younger, we had eggs, pancakes, sausages, muffins, and many families involved. This is simpler for everyone, and enjoyed just as much.)
Fantastic service, our church is known for its music. We had trumpets and other brass, tympany percussion, hand bells, choir, pipe organ, and our congregation really knows how to sing.
Our pastor is allergic to lilies, so only 1 Easter lily, in gathering area by white draped wooden cross. Mother and I contribute that. Dozens of other flowers at the altar, with no scent.
After worship, we were guests for a ham dinner, 11 people. I have a great- grandmother's rice pudding (3 hours of simmering) that everyone loves. They thanked me for it with a pint of maple syrup, they had tapped and cooked. I left the large Easter lily with them.
It was very difficult to manage mother as her wheelchair, my crutches, her needing to use the bathroom, but we made it. She's back now, and I'm off my feet, resting in bed.
Very much enjoyed hearing about the Easter bells tradition, and all the other accounts of today.

My DB is like your DH, helia. He not only has that knack that handy people have, of being able to look at a thing and being able to picture what each part is supposed to do and why it's not doing it, but he used to build computers from spare parts and wrote his own assembler to program them. So he can replace and program his own controllers for things as well. I am nature's equal and opposite reaction to that, unfortunately.
Your dmother wil benefit so much from being closer to you.

Have a good night, kitkat. I hope that you have found your way out of the kitchen.
My df got a front loading machine, and I always found that it smelled like mildew. I still prefer the top loading ones too.

The tulips sound lovely, L.Ann. Have a good night!

What a day, kittykatt! I'm glad that you got to see part of the Easter service, and that Freddie is back home and appears to be on the mend.

I'm glad that you had help with your dmother, Gma, and that you got to enjoy the Easter service.

Hi, Peaches

I have washed my hair, walked the dog and had a phone visit with db.
