I have a friend I walk with most Sundays, FFB. She comes to my house…. We started during covid and walk here so I am here if DD32 needs me. We are both retired and have kids and grandkids the same age and worked together for awhile. We have a standing day and time and just cancel if one of us is busy on the weekends. We both miss the chatting more than the walking if we miss a couple of weeks in a row.

I think I only have one more FACE task unless there are receipts hiding in piles or another bill in my email!

FFB, I don't mind gutting fish, but I am *very* bad at filleting them, and I dont end up with mice, nest fillets, but rather a mangled mess. Bit it's still delicious in fish stews.

Hi, Peaches!

It's been a good day. We had one of my favourite guest priests for church, who preached a very thoughtful sermon, and DF E was in exact form. Lunch was baked ham with a wholegrain mustard and Demerara sugar glaze, roast potatoes, gravy, asparagus, carrots and broad beans, followed by lemon curd and Greek yogurt fool, with raspberries and blueberries. I've had a nice time in my garden,and a good session with the photos.

House tasks: clean gutters and the swan neck on the downpipes where "stuff" tends to accumulate, clean cladding back and front and downpipes, and short return wall as well. Replace the bit of mortar that's fallen out of the edge of the roof (I think its called the verge? Can this wait until next year when we get the house painted when a roof ladder will be up anyway?) , fix dripping kitchen tap ( new washer?), sort out cabinet that wobbles, fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. Dneighbour R2 may fix?More as I think of them?
I may have to split the jobs between different people this year if I can't find someone who's good at a variety of skills, so:
Kitchen tap - DF E has given me the phone number of her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)
Change health centres to the one nearest us? On hold ATM , but I'll leave it on my list so I don't forget.

I started the laundry midafternoon, but I have just finished hanging the last of it. I took a nap between hanging the small rack and the big one, and had a phone visit with my db.

I’m happy to read about all of the happy Sundays. Now let’s get ready for a wonderful week. We had a very good day, we went to the stores for a bit, found a candle scent I used to collect until I couldn’t find it anymore, and this one is twice the size, a hello kitty bath mat for the cats to lounge on, some squeaky balls for the dogs; bogos at Publix, supper at Panda Express, dd#2 (not the one who bought a bouquet of flowers for me and kept them lol) called and we chatted for a couple hours.

Nicely put, Dogged, my useful energy has come to an end as well. I’ll try to summon up enough to get my list ready for tomorrow before I recharge it. Good night.
