Gma, the Thursday service is a shortened version of the Sunday Eucharist. We don't have any hymns, and only say the Gloria on Feast days, but still have a short homily from the priest (rather than a full length sermon!) , and, of course, the full Eucharist liturgy). I'm glad the engineer did a good job. I hope your DMum is ok after her fall. How nice to see Mr VKM again.

Helia, uneventful journeys are good! You sound as though you're having a lovely time with your friends. Thank you for asking after Jude. Weight loss clinic was very successful today, as Jude has lost (drum roll!) 200 grams. (That's just under 8 Oz). She's still technically overweight, but her body score is improving. And the vet nurse said she could definitely feel a difference when she picked Jude up to put her on the scales.

Dogged, homemade bread is always so good! (Years ago I used to make mine from scratch, but we now have a bread maker).

Laura, raspberries are delicious fresh, and also freeze very well.

Trissie, you're so wise to save cleaning the tichen until all the brightly coloured juice is safely out of the way!

FFB, you're very organised for your holiday. How wise to stock up on books for your e-reader!

Hi, Peaches!

I'm sitting with Matilda on my lap. She is Very Jealous that she didn't get to go to the vet today! (She doesn't know it yet, but she has an appointment for her 6 months health check in a couple of weeks! ) We had a lovely service this morning, and I managed to hoover the inside of the car and use the waterless spray cleaner on the outside, as I knew I wouldn't want to do a "proper" clean when I got back from the vet.

Jude's appointment was successful, and I've managed to book her next weight appointment and Matilda's 6 month health check. I couldn't book Jude's boosters for later in September as the diary hasn't been done for that yet. But the good news is that Petplan have finally paid for Matilda's teeth back in June. (They don't normally take this long!). Curiously we now have a credit balance on our account. It's not a huge amount , so I asked to just leave it as it is, and we can set it against Freddie's next bill.

The front garden was looking very dry, so I put the hose on it while I waited for Waitrose to come. The groceries are now PA, and everyone has been fed.

Awesome job on the weight loss, Jude (and your helper Kittykatt).

Our BMX rally plans are cancelled due to rain. I brought boxes to the basement that I had loaded on the stair-walking hand truck ready to go. The plan was to bring boxes down to the locker, go through some old boxes, move their packing materials to the garbage cans and fold down the boxes for recycling. That would free up some space in the lockers. Then bring a box of pee pads back up. That was the plan. Germane wanted to come too, so I was handling the hand truck with one hand and carrying her tucked under my other arm, with no hands free for a cane. Well, I forgot the garbage bags so I just stashed the boxes and brought the box of pee pads back up. By then, my back and other joints declined to participate further, so I'll find things to work on upstairs.

Hi all. I'm home now too. I just finished a bowl of ice cream with raspberries and chocolate sauce. Mmm. I froze some of them. Probably have to do this bowl full in the fridge too. I could make jam. But most of them get frozen for later use. Hmm depends on what Saturday looks like. I think we're doing some more landscaping. But that depends on the situation with mom and dad. I might have to watch mom but I might be able to bring her here and make it with her watching. We'll see.

Ice cream and coffee for snack. Im tired. Monday holiday threw the entire week off. The truck came Tuesday noon instead of Monday. It was loaded weird mixing everything together. I was off yesterday . My receiver partner was off today and tomorrow. He got lots done yesterday but he still left me 3 skies of random everything to finish. I have a stack of paint and a cart full to do tomorrow yet. Depends what tomorrow looks like I will probably leave the paperwork for him Saturday. I am tired.
