After I woke up, DGS asked about supper. LOL -- it wasn't THAT late; he's just a bottomless pit. He and I went to S*bway for supper, and when we got home, HE took a nap. DDIL came to pick him up a little later, and then I took the garbage to the road, and * surprise * went to Wmart, in order to avoid going tomorrow.
I spent some time trying to make out a pick-up order, but gosh... that was going to take me about as long as just going in and getting the stuff. I know once I have a list made out and in my cart, it will be faster, but there were so many choices to go through, and sometimes when it wanted to give me options, it would freeze up and not allow me to pick from various sizes, etc.
I got back from Wmart around 9:00 pm, put groceries away, caught up on some of the multitude of emails that had built up over the weekend. (I deleted over 100 emails that were just junk.) Then I set up my planner for the coming week.
Vergers, yes, the new vicar sounds like he will be great for your church, and I am so happy your dgs was excited about him.
We are struggling to get our church back on track after a couple years of struggling to become independent. We now ARE independent, but we haven't really bounced back from our pre-covid numbers. I wish something would happen that would excite my DGS. he is the only child his age on Sundays, and it's just a sad situation.
Harriet, that will be good if your dbil can help out with the appointments. I bet HRH will be glad to have a guy's day out. Well, maybe not "enjoy" because Ooohhh... the eye appointment sounds kinda scary to me, but I guess he is somewhat used to it.
Oh my goodness, Cathy, I need to follow your example and empty the dishwasher.
I have been putting off sooo many things this past week. I just haven't been able to make myself do ANYTHING. There are dishes in the sink... I dreaded the trip to Wmart and put it off... I did not go to the drug store when I ran out of a stomach med... the dgrands' clothes are still stacked on the kitchen counter and some are still unfolded in the laundry room... I didn't change the sheets when I should have... I've just been incredibly lazy this whole week. I really intend to do better this week, although it will be busy.
Tomorrow, I may have to do school pick up for dgd, if DS isn't home in time. Then we will all be going to dgs' first ballgame, about 35 miles away. I hope I can ride with DS, because I have never been to this school. DDIL will have to meet us there because she will just barely get off work in time to get there. I also have * go to drug store and * change sheets on my list for tomorrow.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be WHB... and Tuesday, I really REALLY need to color my hair. I have put that off too long, also.
Wednesday night is a big Back to School Blast at church... water slides, bingo, gospel bluegrass music, hotdogs... etc. This kinda kicks off our Homecoming Celebration which will culminate with a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, and lunch after church on Sunday.
Thursday, I will have to pick up both dgrands while DS goes to appt with surgeon, to see what his suggestions are re: the swelling in ds' jaw. DDIL wants to accompany him to this appt. I also need to go back to the grocery store Thursday, to get rolls for Sunday, and probably get something to cook for the dgrands -- I'm planning on doing taco salad. Trying to use up this ton of beef I won last fall.
Friday, DGD will probably spend the night with me, and
Saturday, we'll have to get up early to help with the pancake breakfast. I love pancakes, but I don't really want to get up early for them.
I wish I knew I could find a counselor I was as comfortable with as your dd, LadyM. It sounds like this one is just wonderful for your dd. I"m so glad. I hope LordM's appointments go just as well! (And ds'.) YOU have definitely got a busy week ahead!
Sounds like you and your ddog had a great outing, Nancy!
Cathy, nothing beats napping to the sound of rain.
Yes, I know it is after 2:00 a.m. I guess I better head to bed and start fresh tomorrow. Wishing you all a great start to the new week!
