Hello everyone! Thank you for your kind thoughts for Matilda.

Helia, we were very fortunate and saw the urinary specialist at the vet today. Having examined Matilda, she is fairly certain that Matilda has feline idiopathic cystitis (where there is no apparent cause) but wants to do all the tests to make sure, so Matilda's now booked in for an ultrasound scan and x-ray on Friday. (Ultrasound is, on the whole, better at looking at bladders, but apparently there's a type of crystal / stone that shows up better on x-ray). And she'll send off a sample to the lab to see if Matilda has an infection, and if so, what. (Again , we're both fairly certain she doesn't, as she's well in herself and isn't running a temperature, but it's good to make sure). And best news, although she's obviously in discomfort, she isn't "blocked".

Trissie, no progress on DH's retirement no process yet. I have DH trained to check the care labels in any clothes he buys himself. I don't do hand washing either, and the only garments I'm happy to take to the dry cleaners are suits and winter coats!

Dogged, the vet wants Matilda to stay on her bladder supplement for the foreseeable future. Apparently this takes time to kick in, and has a cumulative effect. Depending on the results, Matilda may also go onto a urinary + bladder comfort diet. It's still possible she'll have flare ups from time to time, but pain relief will help her with that.

Gma, the vet will be checking for bladder crystals and stones on Friday. She's had a good "feel" of Matilda's bladder and can't feel anything untoward, but the ultrasound and x-ray should reveal if anything is going on. According to the vet, in our very long appointment today, we've done all we reasonably can to help her, with litter boxes, water bowls, individual food bowls, feliway plug in, play time etc. And all three cats get on well, so there's no conflict there.

Good news on Matilda, kittykatt. Maybe she doesn’t like Freddie getting all of the attention. I’m glad you got to enjoy the outdoors. It’s one of my fave times of year, we haven’t had ours yet, maybe in December lol, right before winter gets here. Beau has a lot more fur to go. I just got his back some.

Doggedly, yay on the check. Is English your first language, do you speak French also? Idk why or how but in reading your post, you’ve reminded me to get some boiled peanuts out of the freezer to use up. Off to do that before I forget again.

Boiled peanuts are delicious, Bama. I don't think that I had heard of them until I made a friend from Louisiana. I still don't know the real way to do it, but I have found that adding some peanuts to brown rice and pulses in the rice cooker adds a really nice texture.
I am English speaking, but speak some French. Enough to troubleshoot your computer or fix your internet, but not enough to follow a conversation when I don't know the topic beforehand and don't have subtitles, LOL. My brother is more French than English, and his friends don't speak any English at all.

I'm in Illinois. This bnb is a little run down but has nice living areas. Each bedroom has something awkward about its set up. LOL! I took the one where the frame is much larger than the mattress; that might be awkward for pregnant F to navigate. I'll let dd27 and dd29 take the 2 rooms that are connected; to get to the 4th bedroom one must go through the third. It's just for a couple days -- it's homecoming weekend here at the Univ. of Illinois - big football game here on Saturday. There were maybe 4? bnbs in town left when I looked to book.

I need to get a few groceries and something to eat for dinner, like a salad. Even though it's less efficient, I won't make a big shopping trip -- I am SO tired. 2 nights of 5-6 hours of sleep.

Now I'm having trouble with the internet; I'm currently using my hotspot.
