Blessed, I know it has to be nerve-wracking to watch your dmom go up and down, up and down. But I am thankful you are still having good moments that you and your dmom can enjoy.
LOL at Harriet enjoying my "review" of the day. I left out one thing -- it did not seem that he used the drill too long, long enough -- don't get me wrong -- but considering that he was drilling through a porcelain crown (and thank goodness, the crown did not crack!) -- but it is an odd sensation to see SMOKE rising from one's mouth. I know drilling creates a lot of friction and they spray water to keep things cool, but I have never noticed SMOKE rising from my mouth before. Of course, no feeling of heat or pain or anything, just that odd sight.
I came straight home (orders not to eat for an hour) and prepared my fruit tray for the funeral meal -- this only involved putting two grocery store trays together in my chip/dip serving dish -- and went to the funeral. I was up there by 12:30 and got back home around 4:30. It was a LONG evening, but I enjoy being with all the ladies at church, so I didn't mind doing it. Still no pain.
After I left the church, I got the new Rx filled (today's dentist wanted me to take Keflex instead of Z-pack, and I am just hoping sooo much that it will not upset my stomach! Some antibiotics do.) Stopped at the post office, and came home. I fell asleep for about an hour, and when I woke up, I was beginning to have some achiness in the left side of my face, so I took the recommended Tylenol/Aleve combination and I'm waiting for it to take effect now.
If it's not feeling better in an hour or so, I'll take some Norco. (They said that would be fine, after starting to write Rx for Tylenol 3.
Considering that I was on my feet for the most part of the afternoon, I think I'm doing pretty well.
Thursday night is one of my favorite TV nights, so I'm very satisfied to sit here and rest.
Twins, I hope all goes well with your houseguests.
Oh -- y'all remember that my dbro called and wanted to bring his dbil along for Thanksgiving? Well -- last night he talked to my dmom and said NONE of them may be able to come for Thanksgiving! He is on a group of people who are responsible for some major hiring decisions at his job, and he said if that is not completed by Tgiving, he may not be able to come. Also that the bil may back out anyway, although dbro's wife really wants him to come with them if they get to come.
If they do not come, it will likely be January before they make the trip. Especially with the situation with air traffic controllers and flights * which SURELY TO GOODNESS will be better by then! * Dbro just doesn't want to try to schedule Christmas trips anymore. I don't know how my mother handles it, except today, she seemed to think it had been just in the past year that he was home a couple times for funerals. The funerals were a 18 months ago, but I think they did come home last Thanksgiving.
Talking about Nancy's tomatoes -- we have a freeze warning tonight, first of the season, I think. I don't have any plants except the three new trees. The dogwood doesn't look very healthy but I think the maples will be okay. I probably need to put some mulch around their base.
LadyM, I hope all went well with dd's appointments. WTG to her for getting her costume together and keeping it PG!
It's pretty cool in my house in the mornings too, but I have the heat set at 72. I do not want it to get any hotter than that because we're still having some warm days and I hate to be going up and down with it all the time. 72 is fine when one is fully dressed and up and about, but it is sooo hard to put myself out of a warm cozy bed in the mornings.
Hmmm... heat just kicked on again right now. It's pretty cool outside -- 45/feels like 42. I know DS and DGS are cold at the ballgame they are watching. It will be cold tomorrow night for our final game of the season.
I'm probably going to sign off for the night. It's been a pretty long day.
