Thank you for the fun start, Kittykatt. I enjoyed the Tonkinese and Freddie's adventure. My favourite Christmas picture of Germane was of her tantrum on Santa's lap. She had her head thrown right back in full howl, and you can even see the ridges in the top of her mouth. She might not be a good dog, but she's a good fit for me, LOL.

That's all that we can do, Smile*Lee, but sometimes we need to remind ourselves to breath while we are taking that one step.

I'm with you, helia. I could not tell the difference between a Tonkinese and a Siamese cat. I will leave that to the experts, LOL. I'm glad that you got your mojo back.

Lauralind, could you install something that allows the beasties to exit but not get back in? Assuming that they don't have babies waiting for them, of course. Like something with a flap door that opens in one direction only.

I have CUOP up to the end of Page 1. I'm going to get a bit more done, and then come back to CUOP some more.
Our one goal for today is Germane's appointment at the animal hospital to get her blood test. It is to test whether she can go on Apoquel and just stay on it. I'll pick up a box of probiotic for her while we're there.
Past that, there is the usual dizzying array of choices of activities. I feel like Oprah saying "YOU get dusted! And YOU get sorted! And YOU get washed!"

Oh, (((trissie))) you really need some sleep. I don't know how to tell you to turn your mind off, because I'm one of those who falls asleep right away. I put an audio book on for 15 minutes and I'm almost always asleep by the time it shuts off, LOL. On the rare occasions that my mind wants to keep me up, I literally count my blessings. "One: I'm glad that I am in bed with my feet up. Two: I'm glad that I am warm. Three: I'm glad that I am not hungry." I never make it to 15.

Your day off did you good, helia.

I do like Dick Van Dyke too, Bama. I enjoyed reading about his early career years go. The entertainment industry was so different then.

Hi, L.Ann. Did you get your puzzle finished, or are you putting it away because you need the room?
Chicken is delicious and so flexible. I mean that it can be served so many ways, not that chickens are good at yoga.

WTG on getting those tiles scrubbed, trissie. My bathroom tends to get a lick and a promise because I have to displace a little dog in order to work in there and I feel guilty.

Bama, I'm sure that genes have a lot to do with it. Some years ago, I read about a study that concluded that most of the people who lived past 100 years old had started life as children on farms and concluded that the exercise and healthy life on the farms set them for life. I thought to myself "That is going to change. They are talking about the last generation of farm children before chemical pesticides."

That's hilarious, trissie. Spite, the great motivator in life!

Hi, Peaches

CUOP's up to the end of Page 2.

Cleaned up after dog
Changed out leaky right glove
Washed some dishes

Hi doggedly. lol at living to be 104 just to show your sister you’re better than she is.
I used to try to take Beau to the pet stores to socialize him. I had always read that German shepherds didn’t grow up until they reached 2yo and boy was that true in his case. He wanted to tear everyone apart, and at over 100 lbs it wasn’t easy keeping him under control. We did manage and he’s a very good boy now, he used to hate the vet but now he’s everyone’s best friend. Even the staff have commented that he’s more well behaved than most shepherds they see.

Hi peaches.

I hope your day is calming down now and you’re getting ready for bedtime soon.

LAnn, I was going to do taco salad but didn’t want to go out for ground beef, maybe in your honor I will use chicken instead. You’ve started a trend. And I do need to eat more chicken, less red meat.

Well, I gave dh about 7-8 old wrestling magazines to declutter yesterday and he put them on the floor by the bed. Today I have another pile of his books to deal with, I think I’ll just donate. He’s never touched them, they’re on wood crafting, and with his Parkinson’s it probably isn’t a good idea to have him using power tools. I’ll save the magazine “issue” (see what I did there ;)) for another day.

Well, that was an adventure. I hesitated about whether to walk Germane to the animal hospital or to drive her. I realized that it's too cold for her, so brought her out the side door and gave her a chance to walk around on the grass in the shelter of the building. No poop. Carried her to the car, over the salt on the path, started the car and put her in her crate. I didn't even get the car door shut before I could see the poop starting. Got her onto the ground in time. Cleaned up after her, walked her around on the grass: no more poop. Drove her to the animal hospital. Took her back outside to see if she had any more to do. Muzzled her and turned her over to the vet tech for blood test. They brought her back without getting it done. Her veins kept collapsing. They think if she were calmer they might be able to do it. She did produce poop while she was back there, though.
Anyway, her vet approved putting her back on Apoquel without the blood test, so we have a path forward for now. And I have to go back to get the Apoquel, so I can put that together with other errands later in the week.
She has now had treats and is happily curled up in her favourite spot in the bathroom, and I'm taking a break.

Bama, it's hard to know if your DH will just be made sad by woodworking books knowing that he can't do it now, or he might still want to cling to that image of himself of the man he was. I know that I can be quite ridiculous in what I imagine I am going to start doing "one day."

You get two big WTGs for that L.Ann: one for finishing what you started, and one for finding it a new home when you were done.

Tuesday
Cleaned up after dog
Changed out leaky right glove
Washed some dishes
Swept
Changed out pee pad boxes
Battled my way into the new Swiffer wet box
Washed floor
Responded to finance guy’s email
Spiffed myself
Brought Germane to animal hospital for blood test

Cheers to a finished puzzle, LAnn. Will you start another one now or a different project?

Dogged, (((Germane))), hope you both enjoyed some fresh air and the medicine helps. Pets are great but nobody warns about all the clean up. Dh bought these books on a whim and never tried the crafts, to be fair he had to work a lot, but he won’t miss them. He does have plenty of things to stay busy when he retires. He’s outdoorsy and can still drive the tractor and work on the yard here and at Hollywood, things he enjoys.

I can completely understand buying books to check out a hobby that you never get around to, Bama. Luckily, your DH has plenty of interests available to him.

Germane and I both had a rest and now I'm cooking and she's hanging around the kitchen to see what's on offer. I have winter vegetables in the microwave with a little water and no seasoning so that I can share with her.

It looks like you found your mojo today. Look at all of those items in your Done list!

You too, Peaches!

Well, I collect cookbooks, and then make the same recipes over and over again, so I kinda get the sentiment! :-)
