Hello, all. I had a funny dream last night. One of my former coworkers (from three jobs ago, and not someone whom I knew well) looked around my apartment and gave me a gentle lecture about the mess. I guess some part of me feels that it is time to clean up. Not right now, though. Today's big To Do is to drive to my old suburb to buy the gluten free pie for Christmas dinner. It is snowing, but just snow, not ice, not blinding snow, so it should be fine. Tomorrow's forecast is for wind up to 70 km/hour, so today is a better day for driving.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. I have happy memories of pigs in blankets. Ours were sausage rolled in pie crust.
Sending you strength and patience to deal with the chaos of this weekend.

Trissie, a slow cooker would fit so well into your life. I have the little one full of potato and carrot with no seasoning, just water, and the big one full with savoy cabbage, carrot, onion, rutabaga, and ground beef formed into rough ball shapes. To the water I added beef soup mix (like Bovril), some minced onion and minced garlic. Both cookers came out well, and Germane is enjoying the addition to her dog food. And you're a much better cook than I am; you won't have any trouble cooking in it. The main thing is that it cooks while you are busy with other things, and you are also much busier than I am, so a big plus for you. :)

Have a great time at the Christmas show, L.Ann.

Enjoy your exercise time with DD30, helia. trissie has good advice. It would be dreadful to invite the girls only to have them detained by ICE. Oh, I see that you are going to check with an immigration lawyer. That is definitely the safest thing to do, as they will have up to date information.

Why would we ignore you while you are sending us good cheer, Bama? ;)

The winter lights festival sounds pretty, Smile*Lee.
WTG on catching the issue with the stain before it was too late.

WTG on progress on the fence, Kittykatt. It's nice to have someone who doesn't have to be chased to do what he said he was going to.

doggedly, I don't konw if I should send you hugs or giggles abotu messes! (Because I have them too!)
I need to bake, wnat to do it in my kitchen instead of hauling everything up to mother's (much bigger and neater) kitchen, but mine is really a disaster and needs alot of decluttering before I can start "creaming the butter and sugar" for cookies, simmering the cardamon in milk adding eggs, flour and yeast for my "famous" and much desired cardamon bread, and cooking rice pudding.
Finally, ds and dgs have given me lists, but ddil has not, so I could go shopping today as well.
I'm have a meal to bring to dfBS, from the deli at the co-op groc where I am a member - it's member day, they fixed roast turkey! and with my member discounts, I spent $133 instead of $199. I have lots of veggies to chop and put into a dutch oven and simmer for soup, and other gorceries to put away.

I have 2 local shopping stops, then if I shop for ds, dgs it's drive to the city. Or wait until Monday when the weekend shoppers won't be out, and these are not things that will disappear today. Dgs wants a bag of hockey pucks (I didn't even know he skated and played intramural hockey. I just thought he studied!) I'm sure the sporting goods store won't run out of those!

Smiles, I love those wooden trolls! and the lights too. Funny that no one in MN has made an outdoor troll village (Maybe someone has, and I just don't konw about it!). The lights are pretty!

trissie, pigs in a blanket here was a menu item at a restaurant when I was growing up. Once in a while we would go there for Sunday dinner. It was sausages rolled up in pancakes.

Howdy do. It’s gonna be a late night here. The party is tomorrow at my house, my family and dh’s family together. Both are small so seems silly to have two gatherings when one will do just fine.

Just got back from shopping for dirty Santa gifts, eating out, and seeing some Christmas decorations along the way.

Do:
✔️Make pineapple pudding
✔️Make apple pie
✔️Cut up lemon

Mop
✔️Wipe down kitchen cabinets

✔️Dry dh’s clothes, put away
✔️Wash last batch couch covers, dry, put away
✔️Put different (green) covers on couch
✔️Fold and put away covers in dryer (spring purple)

I hope the party tomorrow goes well for you, Bama! Sounds like a fun gathering, and how nice to have both families together.
I've managed to get one batch of cookie dough into the refrigerator to chill
A big kettle of chopped vegetable soup cooked
kale roasted in the oven and bagged up into 3 bags of chips

Bread didn't get made, but there's tomorrow.

Thank you gma. Both sides are small and around the same age. It should be nice to get together. Hope you are doing well.
