Sorry, all! I wandered off yesterday and was so unproductive I was embarrassed to come back.

Gma, I'll accept hugs or giggles, anything short of having my face published online with a list of my crimes against tidiness, LOL.

Reading about all of the pigs in blankets leads me to conclude that pigs like to be wrapped and they are flexible about their bedding, LOL.

FrenchFly, I completely understand your hesitation about facing the stores the last weekend before Christmas, but if it's any encouragement to you, I faced almost no traffic and no line ups when I went out today.

Oh, trissie, teen drama! Move the furniture back? How shall I ever survive the trauma, LOL. Enjoy Die Hard. That is a movie that I haven't seen yet, but plan to one day.

helia, needing time alone in your own space is something that I can completely understand.

Kittykatt, I'm glad that DBIL could recover his D so soon after leaving. You know what they say: Some people bring happiness wherever they go, some people whenever. But we all bring joy.

It's late, 10:30 pm. The Cs left about an hour ago. It was nice that they hung out with us this evening.

Dh, dd27, myself, RH, and Fable went and got a Christmas tree this afternoon. We found a really pretty one! I asked if they had any wreaths, and they only had 1 left - the display. They gave it to me for free.

They were closing up shop, packing up to leave town tomorrow. After dinner tonight, we lit the candles on it and read a Christmas story, which was fun and Christmas-y -- but not so peaceful because the 2 puppies, Raven and Fable, were running and wrestling right around us the entire time.

Today was a full day: church until 12:30, Christmas tree purchase outing, WF, hosting 7 for dinner until 9:30 (including tree + story). I got some payroll done too - and some laundry.

Tomorrow is also a full day - chimney sweep here at 8 a.m. and pest control here between 8 and 11, payroll meeting 1 - 1:40, and then teaching AAS D13 1:40 - 3:30. Exercise would be good too -- and maybe getting a few groceries? I still need to order the seafood for the Christmas paella.

We have friends who have given us a wreath of stollen bread many Christmases. I give them a bowl of my grandmother's Swedish rice pudding. And we are both very happy with the exchange.
Tomorrow I hope will be a big baking day. I have mixed up 3 batches of cookie dough, that I can bake while bread dough for 2 kinds of yeast bread are rising. And I have promised a bowl of rice pudding to a member of our congregation who spoke at mother's funeral. Plus one of the batches of cookie dough is his late wife's recipe, so I think he will appreciate that. He has been told that he has a new (his 4th bout from different primary sites) cancer, and this time he chooses not to treat it aggressively. And prefers to have the best next 6 months that he can. So far he is doing well.
I was going to get more baking done today, but I turned on the TV and found The Sound of Music movie on, and I watched it - 6-8 minutes at a time, then 3-4 minutes of commercials, which is when I mixed up the cookie doughs.
I have the cardamon sitting in the (was warm) milk ready for tomorrow, and I will do the rye bread brew tomorrow - I don't know if I want to deal with a double batch (18 cups of flour is a lot to knead) or a single recipe, that is only 3 loaves. I also need to go to the city and do a little shopping for ds and his family. I finally got their list on Saturday and decided not to face the weekend crowds.

I would have had a couple hours more at home, but one lady at the NH needed a medium item I had given her a small (and I happened also to have a Medium on hand) so I drove over there to exchange that for her.
Then I went to dfBS to spend an hour on her driveway. Her "volunteer" snow removal person has not shown up for the several small amounts we have ahd, and it has both accumulated and turned to ice. I shoveled most of the driveway one day, then the housekeeper showed up with her husband, who finished snow removal, but there was a great deal of ice under the snow. The housekeeper and her husband put some sand and ice melting salt down on Friday. The temps were just below freezing today but the sun was good for a while, even tho the driveway faces north. I was over there with my shovels and removed quite a bit of ice, so there are large areas that are safe. I'll see if I have time to do a little more tomorrow, before we get another batch of snow. She's unhappy that I am doing this, but I want to be safe when I go there, and most of her visitors are senior citizens who need to be safe also. I teased dfBS a couple days ago, when I brought my own shovel, telling her that her (very very old and worn) shovel was one step up from a pancake flipping spatula.
I just got word from the tenant at mother's house that the thermostat needs adjusting for her comfort. Good thing Mom's house is only 5 minutes away (including the time to back out of my garage!) The thermostat is upstairs, the apartment is in the basement, and tenant doesn't have access.
