A cruise to Alaska sounds really awesome, Bama! We almost did one, a GF one for dd30, but it was fully booked by the time we finally coordinated schedules and tried to make reservations. Another day.
Oh, I'm so sorry trissie. Glad the chairman was on your side, at least. People should acknowledge when they don't do their jobs.
I think I need to look into alpaca, L Ann and Gma! My wool sweaters are super warm; one is so warm I can only bear to wear it when skiing - and I'm never cold when I wear it. Are alpaca socks thick? I don't like thick socks which is why I do smartwool.
Enjoy lunch with friends, L Ann.
Sounds like a practical and helpful project, Kitty. In our corner cupboard, we have a 2-level lazy susan sort of arrangement that works very nicely. The trays are notched at the opening, so they can be larger --> not so much space is lost. The wooden tray on each level rotates. Here's a photo:

Done:
- reclaimed kitchen
- some qt

Yeah, I need to get on the ball. I think an early lunch will be next and then maybe a jog; the sun is trying to shine!!☀️

Morning all. I know I know I have been Mia for a while. Guess just busy and the site was a bit uncooperative for the weekend. I wasn't home most of the weekend anyway. Life has been just a little busy lately.

Last week just kinda blew by. Thursday was prayer group. Then I worked till 2 on Friday and took ds 16 to the city. We met with dh brother and family where the girls were in figure skating. Watched one skate Friday night and the other Saturday afternoon. All of Saturday day time was spent with ds at his first wrestling competition. That was interesting. I have never seen anything like that. It was his first time so he learned a lot from his 2 short matches. Three of the other guys got medals. 2 gold and a silver I think.

I spent a lot of time driving around the city at night as I got completely turned around coming out of the ice rink and drove the wrong direction on several roads getting to the hotel. Ugh I thought I knew that city but not in the dark. Then I didn't sleep much in the hotel. Survived the day tired and managed to make it home.

Then Sunday was Church and music. My vocal guitar worship leader had to stay home with a sick baby so we scrambled a bit finding songs that worked. In the end it was a beautiful service but busy morning again.

Then band in the evening. By the time weekend was done it was good to get back to regular work schedule.

Today is off. I think it is actually off again. School run and I will make a list

Edit

Bama when is your cruise? Soon? Spring? Summer? I am probably 12 hours from there. Are you getting off the ship? A lot depends when. This year . This winter has been really weird we've missed the really cold and lots of snow that most have gotten in this corner of the continent. I guess I don't spend a lot of time outside so I don't have that under layer. And my house is warm. I guess what I say is watch the weather before you go but you may not even need to wear it unless you're spending time off ship . Oh wait I think you are kinda southern tho... I don't remember where you are.

helia, at the Warm Fuzzy store, there are several thicknesses of alpaca sox. The Scheels ones looked like quite thick. The ones I bought were thicker than Buster Brown anklets (if you know what they were - very fine knit cotton), but not what I consider "thick." That's what I like about them - warm but not too thick. The ones I bought for ds, dgsn for hunting, and for dbil for snowmobiling were thicker ones made for very cold. My dsis loves the ones I gave her - just like mine. I bought the same ones for my dniece who wears hers for skiing. I would say they are about the same thickkness as the gold toe athletic sox I have been wearing for many years.
your cupboard is awesome!
And bama, the cuddleduds I have are no less than 5-10 years old. I don't know their current line. I think Kohl's and JC Penney carry them now. The store where I bought them was part of a corporation that went bankrupt, although they were the part of the business that was actually profitable.

I've got lots to do, but having difficulty planning today. I did go to mother's yesterday as she has some very nice spring/ summer clothes that I might take with me. I tried on several outfits - I'm just so not used to planning a wardrobe ahead - so now have choices. And clothes that need a light launder for freshening. I guess that "should" be my plan.

trissie, I'm sorry that the meeting did not go well. Good for you to just put it behind you and let the board make any decision changes, glad the chairman is on your side. Thanks for the interesting history of teh Winter Olympics! (I was privileged to go to teh 2002 Olympics in Utah, as my brother got enough tickets through a lottery system, to share. Seeing it in person, not on TV, was amazing! Still have my sweatshirt!)

lauarlind, figure skating sounds beautiful for watching! And now with your Mom getting 24 hour care, you are free at least some of the time to be away liek this.

Kittykatt, I hope you can com up with soemthing for your corner that works. Corners are difficult. I love my mother's kitchen: she has none. I have one. The upper corner is great, the lower one has a 3 level turntable that holds things but is always a pain for organization. Square things on a round surface. My carpenter built edges around so very rarely do things fall off. You do need door space on 2 sides. What you showed gets by with only one door. I don't konw which is better. At my cabin, I just get down onto the floor and reach all the way in to the back - and only store things there which are not used regularly, but are needed somethimes.

kitkat, I hope your appointments went well, and you evaded the worst of the snow.

Hi, FFB, I couldn't scroll back to your post.

Ooh, I will check out that store and thin alpaca sox, Gma!
Glad you have today off, Lauralind.

I'm here because I just made my 2 DPCs - and they were easy peasy. LOL! Isn't that the way it is sometimes. How long did I procrastinate on them?

Next:
- back exercises
- dress to exercise
- jog? Or maybe do an exercise video at this point in time. . .

TaDas!
- lunch
- darks washed and drying
- made appt. with foot doctore
- called bank - I can deposit regularly; will do online since I'm not local (the bank is in IL)

So I've found this totally inappropriate song that will now be my motto for the work situation and I feel very much relieved!
If you are interested, google "I've No More F***s To Give!" by Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq :-)

safe travels, kitkat!
your idea of warm and mine are two different things, helia! :-) be careful on those icy roads!
have fun at that lunch with friends, L.Ann!
And Bama is going to Alaska and gma to Florida! And just like Lily from duolingo says, while I am going absolutely nowhere :-)

TaDas
- morning routine
- midday routine
- afternoon routine
- clean kitchen
- dinner
- load of darks sorted and running

ToDos
- 50 minutes of work
and then call it quits because I am exhausted today!

Well I am here now. I did school run and a few basic routines. Didn't get back right away cause H came for an hour or so.

My house is in ok shape for once. I should do floors. Vacuum and mop. Laundry is done .Trying to remember what dh told me I need at the store. Need gas for the car. It made 2 trips as ds borrowed it to go get a big fish tank they bought.

I think I'm going to do another crochet row and find something for lunch. Then see where I get to.

I actually have a tada or two. :P

Gma, Florida will be nice after what you’re used to. I’m close to Pensacola which is nice, or are you going further south? Thx for the good advice.

It’s good to see you, Laura. I’m glad you have just been busy and nothing worse. The cruise is a senior trip in August.

(((Trissie))), “take this job and shove it” is another very old song that comes to mind.

Helia, dpc’s are the worst.

Alpaca sounds very warm, adding socks.

Iirc, Cool Runnings is a good family movie. It’s been awhile since I watched it.

Done:
(Trash Day)
Weigh
D2S
Pet chores mostly done - need to finish litter
Spaghetti sauce thawing for supper
Emptied fridge and gave dogs lots of nice treats so they love me very much
Scrubbed on bottle some more, one tiny spot about the size of a thumb nail left to go
Dh’s laundry out of dryer and in bedroom to sort so I guess I’ll work on that next
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Bama I guess that's Florida then where you are. August is hot. Up here we get summer too. No where near as hot . And if it's cool and rainy or something then maybe that will be cold. It could also be warm like 20 or more Celsius. I'm thinking prince Rupert coastal rainy but a bit further north. I haven't researched it so maybe I am way off.

Trissie that's so frustrating the work trouble.

Ooh that will be a good break gma. What's in Florida? Just a getaway?

I have a lazy Susan cupboard just like helian. Works well.

Hmmm what is for lunch. I really should eat something else.

Hello, all. Well, I've done it. I got up and organized myself and Germane and went straight out and got my flu and COVD shots. The pharmacist was very helpful and gave me a strategy for getting the shingles vaccine without a family doctor. Now I'm back and in need of a break so I can settle in and CUOP. That worked out well. :D

Hello everyone!

Helia, your corner cupboard is beautiful! Gma is right and it needs 2 doors, but it's something I'd definitely like the other end of the kitchen if we ever redo the kitchen. :D WTG getting those DPCs made!

I hope you enjoyed your lunch, L Ann!

You've been busy, Laura - I didn't know DS had taken up wrestling!

Trissie, I'm sorry the meeting didn't go well, but I admire your attitude. I shall Google that song!

Gma, Florida sounds lovely and warm! I'm embarrassed to say I have found things in the back of the kitchen cupboards that we have never used. We also don't do big formal dinner parties any more, so there's more stuff to go there too.

Bama, some friends went on a cruise to Alaska last year and had a great time!

Dogged, I'm glad you had a successful appointment with the pharmacist..

The kitchen is clean and everyone has been fed. I've put the last touches to the Waitrose order, and Matilda is now on my lap.
