I had a wonderful day today. Childhood friend that I went from first grade to 12th grade has a condo not too far from here and she called and we made arrangements to meet . She only visits here once a year.

Brian‘s companion was here so my friend came and picked me up and took me to her condo, which is on the water. We bought sandwiches and went back ate our sandwiches and just laughed and giggled and talked about all of our friends.

It was just what I needed.

When I came home, sweeties companion told me that he had a difficult afternoon. He woke up very early this morning was taking a shower at seven this morning, which is unusual. However, he was able to shower for himself. Do his personal healthcare and get dressed. Justina, his companion said when they got home he was very confused and didn’t know where he lived and wasn’t sure this was the house he belong to. She made his lunch for him and he ate it with a spoon because he couldn’t figure out how else to eat it. Usually, he has no problems with his sandwiches.

I told Justina I thought that the confusion had something to do with the fact he was up so early this morning and didn’t get his breakfast at his regular time so tomorrow, we’ll see what happens in the morning.

Dh is watching the news and I am about to go shelve some books and take care of one particularly messy shelf that has been driving me nuts for far too long.

Hello, hello!
I guess my first ta-da was finally getting s2s. I had such a hard time getting out of bed this morning! Some days I just can't seem to get started. (The next two days I will have to get up earlier because of chair yoga and gyno appt.)
Today, with nothing no actual HAVE TO jobs/appointments... I just struggled.
Did my Bible reading and ate breakfast from the comfort of bed... then FINALLY s2s, went to the post office, dropped off dmom's payment at storage unit, talked to dmom and dfriend, and drove around looking for the site of the fire last night.

Last night, around midnight THREE fire trucks passed my house and one ambulance, and dfriend texted to see if they had passed my house. They had turned just before her house. When I told her yes, she called on the phone, and we talked for about 90 minutes! She was my dmom's best friend growing up, and now one of my best friends. She is a night owl like me, obviously, and we have a lot in common. We used to go to church together, but she sorta dropped out of church during Covid and hasn't been back.
OH -- I did find the house that burned, but I don't know who lives there.

Since getting back home, I have all the laundry to the put away stage. Towels and underwear are on the couch waiting to be folded, and my clothes are draped over the stationary bike, waiting to be put on hangers to dry. (That's the most use my stationary bike gets, Nancy. In my defense, the tension setting no longer works, and the seat is not steady.)

Rose, that is so nice that you had a good day with your old friend! It's like the song says, "You can't make old friends." There is something special about those people who have known us since childhood.
I am sorry your dh had a hard morning.

It's still pretty cool here, Nancy. No snow, though! I had to wear a jacket when I went out.

Cathy, I can certainly understand the tax stuff giving you a headache. Glad you're feeling better. Brrrr... -7.

Kitty, I'm glad you had a successful visit at the vet. I always hated when we had to take our dog to the vet. He was always scared to death. (He died when ds was in college.)

Blessed, I hope your headache is gone by now. (((HUGS))) for your dhelper. I hope she gets some relief also. IF she needs a root canal, I am proof that that is not as bad as it sounds. I was sooo scared and it was just NOTHING like I expected. (Except for the price tag!)

Twins, it does sound like the trainer is not really listening to you. That's a tough situation.

LadyM... (((HUGS))) I'm sorry your dh felt he should cancel the outing, but I understand your concerns. I can't imagine how all this weighs on you, juggling all the decisions you have to manage each day.

(((Mystery))) good luck jumping through the insurance hoops! And I know you're right; I think a lot of kids are "failing to launch" at this time. Of course, our ds came home after college and lived here till he was 28. We never asked for rent money. Same with dh -- he lived at home till he was 28. And I think my dbil, the lawyer, did the same thing. So don't think of yourself as a failure. Like Harriet said, I left home early too -- 18 -- and though I wouldn't say I would do any differently, considering that ds would not exist if I had done differently, I must say I hope dgrands aren't in quite as much rush to get out on their own. (BTW, Twins, my niece and nephew are in their 30s now with no prospects of grandchildren for dbil. They both live a couple hours away and are both busy pursuing their careers, and dnephew just bought a house. But no significant others for either of them, as far as we know. It kinda makes dsisil sad for dbil, because dsisil already has great-grands, and all her family are right here in a 20 mile radius.)
Ha! That car tag did make me LOL. My dbro loves BMWs, but I don't think he drives one now. That was his first car (a used model).

I love watching tv on the DVR because I can fast forward through the commercials!

Oh -- LadyM -- re: a famous Oklahoma native -- I told dfriend last night that of course I was still awake because, I "sorta have a thing for Dale Robertson" (Tales of Wells Fargo). She said, "You and me too!"
And I can understand your ds questioning whether he said too much or not, but I am over here applauding his honesty! ESPECIALLY after what you said about the damage to a customer's vehicle -- oh my goodness! YES, the owner needed to be told about this!!! I hope ds doesn't get any grief from former coworkers, but Cathy is right; these are not the kind of friends he needs anyway.

I really should type those council meeting notes. Let's see how long that takes. BBL!

I am ready to slow down and switch to relaxing mode. Last night I drove home in the dark and it hypes me up so took an hour for me to relax before going to bed. I finally fell asleep only to be woken up 1.5 hours later by DS17 because he thought something was in his eye. He said grinding metal was flying at the job and maybe it got into this eye? nah....IMHO he was being a tiny bit of hypochondriac, and we discussed that metal in eye would hurt instantly and not start hours later. I used flashlight to look at his eyeball but didn't see anything so put eyedrops to flood his eye and eventually it felt better and he went to bed. I did tell him to go buy some safety glasses before he went to work this morning and to be sure and wear them! All this to say that last night wasn't the most restful sleep even though FBit says I got over 8 hrs.

DD14 picked strawberries and kiwi as her new food this week to increase gut health. Her dietitian is encouraging her to try 3 new things each week. DD14 doesn't eat these fruits plain but warms up chocolate melts to dip the fruit in. I'm not sure how healthy this sugary chocolate covering is, but I give her KUDO'S for being willing to try eating more fruits.

Caramel dip is good too, LadyM! And my dmom says she could eat the cream cheese dip all by itself, LOL. Of course, neither of these do anything to increase the vegetable/fruit content. I'm afraid my dietary choices would come a lot closer to your dd's than to yours.

Typed those minutes... printed copies for myself * printer decided to work again after rebelling on me last week!
All laundry (except a few items of dgs') are put away and/or hanging in closet door to dry.
I've even made a note of items that need replacing. I have a few t-shirts that are stained and I really need to replace them. I am going shopping after my appt Thursday -- need to return a pair of pants I was going to give dmom for her birthday. They are the right size, but they just look too tight to me. I think dmom would prefer a softer, more relaxed fit. For myself, I may go to Wmart tomorrow after yoga.

* Y'all say a prayer for me that I can get out of bed and make it to yoga. Mornings have really been hard for me the last couple days.

Now, I will join you in relaxing a bit, LadyM. I am going to do my 15 minute indoor walking routine and then settle in for some basketball, the State of the Union, and today's newspaper.
Oh -- BTW -- Oklahoma is beating Auburn 66-52 right now. The second half has just started.

Editing: Oklahoma won, 91-79. Our coach apologized to our fans in his post game interview. Twins -- we were spoiled by Bruce Pearl. It's going to take awhile for Stephen to fill his daddy's shoes, but I'm glad they hired him.
