You are right, trissie. My db really is my best friend now. We have always been closer to each other than to anyone else in the family, and then we were separated in foster care so we knew to value our time together when we got to see each other.
That movie sounds good. I'll have to watch for it on my Roku.

Not just you helia; this has been going on since last night at least.

I am glad that you got to enjoy some time in your garden, Kittykatt.
That pie looks delicious!

Hope to see you later, Bama!

Mmmmm.... bakeries... Sorry about the extra errands, L.Ann, but I hope that your nose got to enjoy the outing.

I am playing it by ear all weekend. It is Easter weekend, so from Friday to Monday we will have people doing things on unusual days. I would like to avoid the stores altogether, but will run out of fish for Germane. I have pork thawing in the fridge for her. We'll see if she accepts it as a reasonable subsititute.

I went on a little spending spree the past couple of weeks. For me a spending spree where I run around online buying everything I want comes to less than $200, so not a burden to pay off, especially right after my tax refund came in, LOL. The end result is that I have new toys and more coming, so I want to play with them too. One of the things that depends on time available, light and weather, is a lattice for my balcony that looks like wood and ivy. I'm looking forward to setting it up to check it out. I'll use zip ties to fasten it. I'm such a fool; the package arrived when I was talking to my db. I told him that I was expecting it to be three feet high, but it's up to my chest so it will cover the railing, which is higher than I expected. I forgot that the more you stretch out a lattice, the shorter it gets, LOL.

Friday
Picked up dog’s food
Heart pill for Germane
Set alarm for one hour. After alarm, put food back down.
Cleaned up after dog
Put away dry dishes
Washed some dishes
Gathered clothes
Unpacked small slow cooker
Washed the soaking dishes
Dumped water
Loaded dw to run later.

Getting back here and it still took a couple tries. If this doesn't go through, I'll just go on with my day. I don't have time to try to get things posted here.

Were you looking for a hard-to-find cake, L Ann?
OH nice, hot cross buns, Kitty! We used to buy those every year. (We stopped once we learned dd30 had celiac as I didn't feel up to finding a GF recipe.) That recipe sounds interesting! I still need to cook with leeks.
I hope you can get back here, Bama. How is your weekend shaping up?

Home from work and just finished lunch. It is now 3 pm. *sigh* I'm supposed to have my exams graded by tonight. Since I'm out from 6 - 10:30-ish tonight, that gives me 3 hours to grade my exams, jog, do my shopping for Easter -- I've done none of it so far. We're feeding 9 people on Sunday. . . . And we're providing the main for 14-17 people at CG1 on Saturday. I'm just going to buy rotisserie chickens and make rice. Clearly, everything is NOT going to happen in the next 3 hours. I am going to prioritize a jog as the weather is SO mild!! It will be good for my spirits. I'll just hope the stores have everything I need and are not too crazy tomorrow morning.

I also have a stack of boxes on the handtruck with appliances that I brought up from the basement a few days ago. They all need to be unpacked and washed.

helia, rotisserie chickens and rice sounds like a very practical meal on this busy day.

Look at all that you and Kittykatt got done today!

I had an inspiration. I am going to do a temporary set up with the lattice with twist ties, as I am trading off view for privacy. Once I'm satisfied with the set up, I'll tie it with zip ties. It's not raining yet, so it looks like I will be able to do this today.

Friday
Picked up dog’s food
Heart pill for Germane
Set alarm for one hour. After alarm, put food back down.
Cleaned up after dog
Put away dry dishes
Washed some dishes
Gathered clothes
Unpacked small slow cooker
Washed the soaking dishes
Dumped water
Loaded dw to run later.
Unpacked the slow cooker and washed all parts
Unpacked breadmaker and washed all parts. It attacked me and I now have a paper cut, but I struggle on valiantly.
Unpacked the air fryer. No manual. I took out the manual when I bought it, intending to read it, and I put the manual…….. Any guesses where?
Looked up the manual online.
Cleaned all parts of the air fryer
Started a new bottle of soya sauce of new brand. It doesn’t have a pouring spout.
Filled the soya sauce decanter, but can’t find the gasket.
Tried it: it seems fine without the gasket.

Dogged, your trellis should provide shelter as well as privacy, and there are plenty of climbing plants that will grow in lots which you could use to cover it.

How wise to make the most of the lovely weather and go for a jog, Helia!

I folded laundry and PA, everyone has been fed and Matilda is now on my lap. I'm on the sofa, as Freddie is in my chair.
