Ds came by and took some groceries we'd ordered for the fire dept. He obediently went into the storage building, lifted heavy stuff and pulled out two planter pots I knew I could see there. He didn't argue with me but had a smile. HRH said, "Where did they come from?" and I said, "well, we bought one of them and we've owned the other one for a decade or so."

About half my plants are in the ground, although I probably have that much work again ahead of me, since I'll pot up the two new finds for part. Then, time to pot up more indoor plants.

I did get a lot irrigated tonight and was pleased, but one hose acted up and HRH will have to take a look at it tomorrow.
I didn't get to the foliar fertilizer, but still on schedule since all are being planted with some nutrients from the start.

lucylee, I enjoyed hearing about your chaotic work with the class of youngsters. What? Isn't it virtually the same as when you were teaching Shakespeare to older students? (ducking and running)

The book of stories is very simple, not very sophisticated. But it's a gentle method of teaching about attitudes and actions of people, by letting children "see" them happening in a bird community that isn't threatening. I knew about it from my dmother. But in a family church of my late dh's, a minister used these with a tall birdcage-like "village" that he would wheel into the sanctuary each week. The children rushed to him to hear what happened next in Wington.
