I'm back - and I can actually get in now. I couldn't even get in before.

I like Fredrik Backman too, trissie! Tell us how the other book is. :)
L Ann, I experienced that when, unbeknownst to me, my health insurance company suddenly didn't know if I had a second insurance policy or not - after 25 years of that not being the case. :?: A box was left blank by someone, perhaps dh, as we modified our insurance to a PPO rather than an HMO, resulting in no coverage for me for my mammogram. It did eventually get straightened out. . .
Glad your back is better, kitkat. I'm still awfully sleepy. But I have a lot to do today before we can entertain dinner guests tonight. So, I'll keep on keeping on.
Doggedly, our housemate M usually eats at a different time from us. She cooks for herself. We don't cook meals together. The last couple days, she seemed to be timing her meals to coincide with ours. She is young, 26 years old, very Gen Z.

Getting back to it now that it is after 2:30. I got home from work around 12:45. Made lunch and ate it.

4 hours before dinner guests show up. I need to buy groceries, do some cleaning, and do some cooking before then. I'd also like to jog and shower. Laundry - may get punted another day.

Next:
- some qt
- WF - groceries
- put away groceries

Later:
- back exercises
- make the bed
- dress to jog
- JOG
- WF
- put away everything
- spiff bathroom
- strip MBR bed
- lights: w d f pa
- run steamer for some clothes
- remake MBR bed
- tidy living areas
- dust living areas
- help make dinner: gnocchi with sausage and peas, roasted veggie medley, bread; mochi for dessert?
- 6:30 dinner guests here; eat and visit with them
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- finish fun book?

TaDas!
- up; weighed
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- email reply to CK: coffee on Friday?
- email reply to cousin j
- payroll: morning announcements
- basic self spiffing
- reclaimed the kitchen
- 10 - 10:40 KS2J get together
- 10:55 at payroll
- payroll: updated gradelink
- payroll: helped with a student issue
- payroll: started prep for AI AS D4
- home; lunch

Hello, everyone!

Helia and KitKat, thank you for your kind thoughts. My dr appointment was helpful and reassuring. (It's not the bite, the nurses are dealt with that still!) The spot I was concerned about is fine. :D The rash is a mystery still, but the latest theory is that one of my asthma meds can cause (harmless) skin reactions and that this effect has been triggered or exacerbated by the effects on my immune system from the first MMR jab. We have agreed that breathing is important. (My statement! ). This means I don't want to mess with my asthma meds until when /if they stop working for me - ATM it's well controlled. And he also agreed with that. :D So I carry on with the emollient and sun block, and it should eventually sort itself out. Id it gets worse or doesn't resolve in the next few weeks, I'll go back. I think the reason I got the appointment so quickly is that the rash is "strange" , and although I sent photos, I think they wanted to be extra sure it wasn't a sign of anything serious.

L.Ann, fingers crossed the insurance is all ok. I can only begin to imagine how stressful it must be for you!

Bama, the site has been glitchy for me today as well. Is Tux eating well for you now?

Trissie, DH retires at the end of September, so 5 months to go.

Dogged, Freddie's appointment went smoothly (he swore and growled, but that's normal for him and "his" vet is unfazed by it.) The vet went through the results from his bloods with me again -they're very happy with him. :D

DH has gone to choral practice, and I've finished for the day. The sitting room is clean and tidy, I've watered my pots in the garden and done some deadheading. And I've booked the appointment to have the boiler serviced at the end of May.

Glad to hear both appts went as well as possible, Kittykatt.

helia it's been a sleepy day here as well... I really had to push myself to keep moving.
(coffee at this point does not help... just increases HR - and I'm still sleepy/tired)
(that was the first Backman I ever read. - was hooked)

trissie
- My Grandmother Asked Me....
(the other one is not Backman's, I don't think) - let us know how you like them.

I still have 2 baskets to pa...
maybe I'll have a few minutes to find out who was the killer in my book?

Waving to L.Ann, trissie, Bama, helia, kitakt,

That is frustrating about the teacher not handing in her exams, helia. Does this cause you a last minute crunch at your end?

Good luck in that closet, kitkat. Could you take a look for the bottom of Germane's travel pen while you are there? It doesn't seem to be in my closet, LOL.

Sounds like you have some interesting reading ahead, trissie. :)

That is worrying, L.Ann, and worth the extra step of filling out paperwork.

End of Page 2!

Tuesday
Picked up Germane’s food
Gave Germane her heart pill.
Cleaned up after dog
Washed that part of the floor
Bagged up kitchen and bathroom garbage
Folded a couple of tshirts to pack
Dug the dog’s travel pen out of the walk-in closet
Took it out of its travel case to check it: it is missing the waterproof floor
Quick check of walk in closet for the travel pen floor
Dug into the depths of the laundry cart looking for it
Packed more tshirts

It's not a big deal, Doggedly. She just needs to hand them to me. These are the final exams her students took last session. We save them and file them away for a number of years until they're no longer needed for a potential accreditation audit.
Ooh did you find out the killer, kitkat?
Sounds like a successful day, and now you can relax, Kitty. I'm trying hard not to envy you your quiet evening. I might get one tomorrow!

Next:
- grocery list
- WF errand
- put away groceries

Trying to push on. Done:
- some qt
- after lunch clean up

Too bad, helia. I was thinking that if M. used to eat with friends, you could try some gentle questions about how so-and-so is.

Keep breathing, Kittykatt!
I'm glad that Freddie's appointment went as well as possible, under the circumstances and that yours went even better. :)
Woo hoo on clean and tidy sitting room and happy garden.

I looked up My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry and it looks really good. I checked my library and they don't have it, so I'll have to wait on that one.
I don't imagine that the weather is helping with the fatique, kitkat.

That's good that it's not creating extra work for you, helia. You do a lot of travelling. Do you have a streamlined system for packing? I am using last year's packing list and just adjusting the numbers, but the mental load that it took to choose my tshirts has me thinking that people who do it often, do it better.
One improvement this year is that I figured if I do an overnight bag, then I just need to bring it in, the food and everything for Germane. That way I can bring the rest in on other days instead of running myself into the ground.

Are you already packing for your trip, Dogged :) ? If you can get the book maybe from another branch, it's worth the trouble:)

helia I guessed it right! But I did not have time to finish the book yet... tonight. Did you get to jog today?

I got dpup home and made it to the gym. (All my muscles are sore... Tomorrow will be a day off.

I think this is it for me tonight. It was a successful day. There IS lots more to be done but I made a lot of progress.
Thanks Everyone!
Have a wonderful night.

Yes, kitkat. A lot of the packing can be done ahead of time and it relieves the strain on the joints on the day I drive up. It also relieves the hesitation to put on clothes in case I will want them for the trip. This time I am trying to divide things in order to avoid overdoing it all one day.
I acutally used Libby to scan a bunch of libraries for the book in ebook form. I might have to resort to checking for a physical book after I come back from vacation.
I think that we are all in for a lot of rain, so dpup won't want to keep you outside tomorrow.

WTG on your busy day, L.Ann. How did DD33's cooking class go? Is she enjoying it?
