Re: Berthe Morisot Monday @ TDD - C&C
Hello, everyone!
Trissie, yes, DH was home today, but I sent him out for a walk when I was cleaning (we reached 31C today, so I felt it would be sensible if he walked early while it was still reasonably cool. )
L.Ann, the pictures of the flower farm are beautiful!
KitKat, you always do a lot - I'm not surprised you get tired!
Your Memorial Day dinner sounds delicious, Helia. Did you end up eating on the patio?
Dogged, I really hope FedEx turn up for you today. Yes, you're bright and we are a long way north, even though I'm in the SW of the UK. (London is actually as far north as Alaska. We have the Gulf Stream to thank for saving us from Alaskan winters.
)
Gma, how nice to go out with Mr VKM to celebrate your DMum's birthday. If your weather is as hot as ours is currently, I think sandwiches would be very welcome.
I finished cleaning upstairs today before it got too hot up there. In the afternoon we visited DF HT.to celebrate her birthday. We had tea, cake and strawberries and cream. This evening I spent a couple of hours in my garden, pulling out more forget-me-nots, mulching and watering the pots. I think this is my favourite time.of year, warm.sunmy.westjer,.but without the humidity we often get later in the year. After supper I took Fred for another walk. (He was asking, and it was cool enough by then. The RSPCA is currently advising dog owners not to walk their pets between 8am and 8pm as it's too hot, especially for their paws on concrete, and although Freddie is a cat, I think it's wise advice.)
I've also started drafting the message for roofer L. I'll send it when I get back from Fred's appointment tomorrow.

Re: Berthe Morisot Monday @ TDD - C&C
Still no word from FedEx, but at least they aren't saying that they tried and I wasn't home.
Germane must be almost ready. I think I'm going to shut my eyes while I wait for the call.
This afternoon decided to be summer. It is warm and sunny. We'll take it, LOL.
It looks like you got lots done, L.Ann, even if you weren't following your list.
I wouldn't mind the wait if they would say that they are coming in 4 days and actually come, trissie. It's this business of "I'm coming now. Be up and dressed and ready to get your parcel from the lobby. Okey, I'm not coming now but sometime today. Don't breath and don't move. Just kidding, I'm coming tomorrow. Get up early and be ready." that is wearing me out.
I can't imagine the frustration of having other people mess up your kitchen. That is something that I prefer to do for myself.
Woohoo on getting your tickets, Gma, and on Mr. VKM being flexible about arrangements.
That's true, Kittykatt. We have to watch in this weather that we don't let our pets get burnt on the sidewalks. Germane, of course, doesn't keep her paws on the ground long enough for that to be a problem, LOL.

Re: Berthe Morisot Monday @ TDD - C&C
Well, it's 7:00 pm and FedEx still claims that they are going to deliver my parcel "by end of day". Do we believe them?
On the bright side, I have picked Germane up from the groomer. She is all nice and fluffy and smells nice. Also, my parcel from AliExpress arrived, when they said it would, with no fuss at all. Take a lesson, FedEx. But you are right, kitkat. It could be worse. It could be UPS.
I had to look up what an aura frame is, L.Ann. It looks like fun.

Re: Berthe Morisot Monday @ TDD - C&C
My mom had a frame like that - it was a wonderful way for friends and family to keep in touch when she was no longer able to travel to see anyone.
When do you think FedEx day is done, Doggedly??? I'm sure soon you are ready for bed!
kitkat, how very "she" of you to accomplish so many thing not on your lsit, and so few ON the list!
I found a very nice cherry tomato plant, and a healthy "beefsteak" one as well. Now I need a midsize, like an early girl or better boy, because I think the beefsteak is a later tomato, and I'll want one sooner! And healthy parsley and basil. It took quite a while to plant just these 4, as it is an area where I have not planted any vegetables before. There were 2 old and overgrown hydrangeas that the guy I hired to do my landscaping last year took out. We talked about that becoming a small garden area, as it gets lots of morning sun. I hope that I get enough produce to make the cost of the plants and the energy of planting and caring for them, worth the food I get!
I'm tired, it's dark, I need a shower, but not sure I have the energy!
I have a list started for tomorrow, so I won't have to think when I wake up!

Re: Berthe Morisot Monday @ TDD - C&C
Somewhere around nine o'clock, FedEx changed my status from "Out For Delivery" to "We're trying to arrange a new delivery date for you" Gma. And I promptly fell into a deep sleep, LOL. I'm just up for a bit to get Germane's food and water sorted, and a piece of toast for me. I gave her too many pieces of salmon as treats and she is now envisioning a future in which salmon is unlimited and dog food is ignored.
Your garden will be wonderful. There's nothing like fresh tomatoes from your own garden.
