Why do I even try? I tried and tried to make sense of Step 3, and finally came to suspect that an unnamed part that was wrapped in packing actually broke off of the back of the chair. I tried to contact Aosom's customer support but they are closed for the day. The more I look at it, the more I am convinced that it's broken. I don't see any scenario that is not a nightmare for me. The bot tried to word it that I broke it while assembling so I corrected that, but the website looks to me like the website will try to wash their hands of it and tell me to deal with the courier. Even if they are responsible and tell me to return it, that meants trying to pack it back into the box, and not all parts are reversible. Some that have clicked into place aren't designed to come back out. *sigh*

Dogged I was really hoping the assembly would go smoothly after what you went through with the delivery.
Fingers crossed that they handle a return in a responsible manner.

To Everyone, A GOOD NIGHT. I'll be back tomorrow.

Thank you, kitkat. It was a big disappointment for sure. But the bot has sent me an email asking for details, which I didn't expect until tomorrow so I'll take that as a hopeful sign.
