lucylee I'm going to think about this while I sleep. Hopefully I will come up with some ideas or bits of wisdom.

lucylee I had some ideas that I need to finish going through.

I am plotting your eating patterns because I think I see a few things other than the obvious.

What I ate today = 3.6 starches
1.6 starches - Fiber Bar @ 6am
0.0 starches - Pecan halves (4) @9am
0.0 starches - Crooknecked Squash @noon
1.0 starches - sweet potato (small)
0.0 starches - yogurt
0.0 starches - sliced tomatoes
1.0 starches - hamburger (one slice of bread) @5pm
0.0 starches - grape juice (1 cup)

August Daily Starch Tally -
5.6 starches = 1 August
6.1 starches = 2 August
7.1 starches = 3 August (3 lb weight loss)
3.6 starches = 4 August (weight flux now = 1.4 lb loss for this month)

A bit low on the starches, but will be eating out tomorrow evening so the extra will probably be needed.

OKay your 1.4 increase is probably from your "hamburger something". You don't seem to have much sodium through out your days and that one has plenty of sodium). You didn't consume enough to make a 1.4 pound increase.

You are doing so well.

Well... while I wait for Indiana to chastise me... here goes nothing...

Tuesday
10:00

PB Crackers
Banana
12:00
Granola bar
2:00
8 Triscuits
2 slices low fat cheese
Apple
* walked 2 miles *
4:00
Choc. chip cookie
5:00
Grapes
6:00
3 chicken fingers, lightly breaded
small order french fries
Goo Goo cluster

(We bought a six-pack of these Goo Goo Clusters. There is only one left so you won't be seeing this so much from here on out!)

I know it still looks bad, and I still haven't gotten my starches down below even 10 p/day... but I am trying, Indiana. I bought all this fruit and salad, and I really HAVE increased my fruit & vegetable eating... and believe it or not, I HAVE exercised a little restraint over myself b/c I am reporting in to you.
Tomorrow is another day.

I am afraid you have given up on me, Indiana...
Or maybe you are just trying to word your response in a way that won't make me cry.
Tomorrow is another day.

No lucylee it is just taking me a while to do the spread sheet since I was gone most of the day.

I am not going to beat you up. I thought I saw a few patterns and wanted to make sure. When I have it on a spread sheet it is showing up better.

The one thing I can say before I finish it is that although your goal is 6 starch for the day I agree with you that for a while your goal should be 10 starches. We have to move a slower than I originally thought. It isn't too slow just slower.

Harriet made an important statements when she talked about the potato and white flour starch.

I'm wondering if OKay had the sweet potato just to make me happy, or perhaps shut me up. (if the later, evidently it didn't work, but if the former, :) )

During my unfortunate bout with acid reflux, I could have sweet potato and my tummy would calm down and be so content - more valuable than you can know. I can share with DangerBoy and WonderBoy and make them smile with no parental comment. If I do the nutrition stats for the day, nothing compares; they cover a multitude of sins.

They are so easy peasy to make in 5 mins in the microwave in wax paper. A little butter because they're already sweet enough.

I almost feel an ode coming on... ...

Ode to a Sweet Potato

Oh, sweet orange tuber so yum,
feeling quite pleasant there in my tum.
You give me nutrition,
extra energy, ambition!
And all without expanding my bum.

Wow... Indiana... I am amazed that you are doing a spreadsheet on my eating! I'm just in awe that you would take so much time for me, and I'm so afraid I'm going to be a big disappointment to you...
But I just saw your post in PWYC and I see what a frustrating day YOU'VE had, so don't worry about getting back to me.
Oh -- and I did want to tell you -- my weight has backed off a couple of pounds just since I started posting in here.
Thank you!
Tomorrow is another day.
