Hubby is out looking for work today he called said he was on to something; I could hear the stock yard auction going in the back ground. Some one was buying cattle and he may be delivering ‘em. Sort of exciting for him today I'm sure to have such a change of pace! Keeping fingers & toes crossed prayerfully here.
Dgd has had fun doing play doh with me we baked up the doz. cookies for today. She “helped” me dust with the rainbow duster. I need to join Dee in the Rx refilling meds. and then get out the vacuum.
Lunch is over and I've spiffed up the kitchen. H. helped me to get the curtain back up in there this morning before he left.
We watched Franklin's Christmas DVD dgd loves that one for you granny's with under 3 yo. you might keep that in mind. Franklin books are a hit too. Dee & Harriet I'm thinking of you and others with wee ones around.
Lilac Rant away. I enjoy reading about it all for some strange reason and I'm sure putting it all down on paper helps you work through your thoughts. I like the idea of you not moving to dd2's old house. It sounds like more expense, the risk of your mother coming, and the risk of your daughter and grandchildren trashing the house because they'll think of it as theirs. Besides, it also would make your dd2 face the consequences of trashing the house (less value in it and harder to sell.) But that's just my opinion.
Dee: Rant away. I can't believe medc0 and your doctor's office must be really fed up with them by now. Stay healthy, don't let them get your blood pressure up any further or you might have to change meds and if medc0 can't handle routine there's no hope they'll handle change!
I worked on sorting papers this morning and then had choir and grocery shopping. Bought 3 items for HGP. Its a start.
I have finished 4 of 7 pages of customer comments. One other page, I am waiting on the attachements they want included but failed to send. That leaves 8 items that need to be done. Pretty good for a day's work. I have about 40 minutes left at payroll, then I get Chinese food at a friend's.
Ditto Kathryn. Ranting is healthy. (IMHO) At least, the kind of ranting that is mostly done with fingers and not the tongue. Of course, the rant might get more results if given verbally to those who created the need to rant... but probably not. So at least, Lilac & Dee, you can rant at us and no one gets hurt -- and you are able to let off a little steam before you explode. How well I know the feeling!
I was thinking, like Kathryn said, that dgchildren might always think of the house as theirs, also, Lilac... and of course, you could set limits, change the rules, etc... but it might be a big headache to do it. Very good to get an appraisal and let dd see results of their actions.
I'm one to talk. Our house is so pitiful right now. I just know eventually dh is going to fall right through the bathroom floor and hit dirt. * sigh * He will hear nothing of having anyone out here to repair it, partly just b/c he isn't ready to deal with it, and partly for fear that my ddad will find out and then I'll be upset that we didn't use him. Right now, I am all for hiring someone else and getting it done... no waiting and consulting and waiting and waiting and waiting on ddad... but dh knows that could possibly lead to trouble later. He says we are just going to wait until ddad is OUT of the business.
Ooohhh!!! Exciting day for Nancy & dh!!! Saying a prayer for good news!
If I don't eat anything else tonight, I'll finish the day well. Actually, it has been a very good day for healthy choices. Not quite as good as yesterday but almost. The scale is doing a dance these days but slowly moving in the right direction which is a relief. I'll settle for 2lbs per month if that's what I'm being offered. I would have preferred 5 but when I look back to the beginning of the year, as of today I'm down 15. Almost all those pounds were around my waist so I haven't gone down a size yet, but clothes look better on me. And I look at myself more often in the mirror when dressing.
I'm going to try and knock a few more items off my to-do list. There's bill paying (which is easy right now because there's money in the accounts this month) and then get the dishes done.
DH calls home & says I'm bringing helper home and we'll have dinner then work on some welding. So it was a scramble through the freezer and pantry because I was on my last serving of leftovers tonight, but I did get a meal together and they both ate like it was their last meal...
Found something interesting on internet today. Community where I used to live is now extracting shale gas and people very close to where I used to live are being paid by oil companies. Rats! I missed the boat again! Several states are doing this now, and it's all through the county where I used to live.
That sentence made me smile because bringing 3 hungry teenagers home from school tends to remind me of sharks having an eating frenzy. Teenagers can eat an incredible amount of food.
BWTG Harmony at cooking such a good tasty meal together at the last moment!
I am home with a very very sad LO. We had a cold front come through so the wind is blowing hard and it is below freezing tonight. I started to bundle LO up, but DH thought it would be too cold for LO to be outside so soon after being sick. LO was devastated to not go to church with his brothers.
I will go to bed tonight with only two items on my to-do list undone. I think that is a recent record!
The laundry is almost ready to be flipped. Until then, I'll practice my anthems. Three more were added today so now I'm up to 8 to learn. Five for the 27th and then one each week through Advent. We are repeating one of the 8 for Christmas Eve. No word yet if they'll want an offeratory or not.
Inviting my friend to the concert might have been a mistake. I'm nervous enough and have never sung in front of him (except once 3 years ago and I blew it.) His doctorate is in church music so it raises the performance anxiety of many of us. So far, only dh knows he's coming and I'm tempted to keep it that way. It isn't as if he cares about perfection, he just makes us nervous because we want to please him. Oh well, what is done is done and it is incentive to keep me practicing, especially the quartet piece. I can hide my voice in the mass choir for the other pieces.
I've had an attack of optimism. Feel a little better than I have recently. My ddad seems to have had a good day. It poured rain so hard all day that I couldn't really have gone out if I'd wanted to, so these constant errand runs eased. Got to chat with dVetNeighbor and enjoyed that.
Kathryn, no I wouldn't mention it. Instead, let his arrival be a pleasant surprise in the midst of the happy hustle bustle that night. It will be affirming rather than adding to the adrenaline.
waving hello
hugs all
(((((lilac))))) simple may be to back out of purchase and stop cleaning up over there. consequences. for both dd and dgd
(((((Dee))))) med co dysfunctional. that would annoy the carp out of me. Is it your moving that upsets them ???
Harriet - I like to watch supernanny too for that reason.
Just took a break to ring dd#2. dgd1 has taken first steps today. 14 mths she emailed me some photos. gorgous.
3 baby birds sat on the clothes line outside my back door today to be fed by their insect catching parents. enchanting.
sending prayers for all.
Just begin. Living this day, today Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do. Look for the good in all.
