I need to change calendars take down old ones, new ones are behind them. x
H. checked the mail, and is going to clean gutters today / or this week some time then haul off the leaves and stuff in the utility trailer.
Trash day tomorrow so we need to dump trash today. x
Dgd is here today and had a melt down before lunch but seems fine now.

Still going, I will make this a short round and then start cutting up veggies - I'm making a turkey/corn/veggie chili and corn muffins. It's quick and easy except that cutting up celery, onion, red peppers takes awhile.

-upstairs put comforter back on guest bed
-brush teeth, wash up face, etc.
-do a round of straightening in laundry room
-quick car clean out - mostly some water bottles for recycling

Making progress here.

Dropped off dd at the airport. I didn't cry this time because we had such a good long visit with her.

Then to the bus station, the parcel was waiting for dnephew, then lunch while dh returned a gift of mine that didn't fit.

Since getting home I have 80% of the dining room done.

Dinner is in the oven.

Ds is asking for more hugs than usual and talks about last night in little chunks. He wasn't on registration but in cases like this they don't talk to the family if they can get enough info on their own. They called the paramedic dispatch and got the address from them. The paramedics were still at the hospital (crime scene until cause of death was called by the coroner since it was an 'accident' at home - fell getting into the tub because his heart gave out) and so gave them the child's first name. Database search gave them the rest of the details they needed.

The hospital chaplain had an awful night since both events happened within an hour so she had just arrived for the family of the still born when she was paged to resuscitation area to deal with the family of the dead child. That area of the hospital was also closed down by police and the police kept trying to stop the mother from touching the child but she just wanted to hold him. The in-charge nurse intervened and protected the mother from the cops. Ds says every time there has been a child dying at their hospital (we have a children's hospital in town so normally ambulances are redirected there unless there are no vital signs apparent) this has been the chief nurse. He says she takes it very hard.

I figure I believe in a God of relationships. I support ds, who supports the nurses, who support the family members. My part isn't obvious, but in the circle of relationships, I do have a role. We all touch the people, indirectly if not directly. Because he works assigning beds in the hospital, he doesn't deal with patients or family directly, but his quiet office is a place nurses can come to for a moment (in order to 'check for bed availability') before having to go back out to face family.

Sadie and Nancy I work full time too and this is my schedule, (I work monday-Friday) everyday do the three D's, dinner , duds, dishes (no dishwasher), i pack lunches, deal with the boys schedules and mail, every other day i scoop kitty litter, once a week I do floors, acumming and bathroom. i declutter as I go and since it is a small house I need to keep things clutter free. dusting happens when I have a chunk of time

Hi everyone. I felt like this was a normal day and I was anxious to get stuff done. The banks weren't open, neither was the post office, but I did go out and get the car gassed up and left my W2's and checks I wrote out in the inside drop box. That way they wouldn't sit in my mailbox and get damp. We had a grey day, rainy for a while.

I got my 1099's done and ready to mail with the 1096 (end of year paperwork for I RS).

Took a break at 11:00 and watched the rose parade - it was nice on Hall mark channel since they didn't stop for commercials, just a line or two of ads and continued on with the parade - so I didn't miss anything. Really enjoyed it today.

DH and I worked on pictures today, got stuff off the camera, some to the computer, and a couple email pics to computer to storage so we can go print them off. That is complicated electronic stuff for us but I was pleased we figured it all out.

We just came in for a long bike ride. It's in the 60's and windy and my ears are ringing from the cold wind in them. I am beginning to get some strength and more stamina. We went a couple extra streets today.

Kathryn, do you think DSon's job has anything to do with his growing maturity you mentioned the other day?

This morning I wrote a post on how much normal means to me. Then deleted it. I am quite content with my life. On the other hand, dm has to have something to look forward to or she isn't happy. She has been talking about after the trip, getting things done around her house. Her cruise is in 2 weeks. I was hoping this time would be different. Today she started talking about how she can't wait for the weather to warm up, so she can go camping with her db and dsil. They have a camper and they spend a lot of time at a lake about 30 miles from her. They even gave her a key to the camper. They leave it set up almost continually all summer. Dd2 told me that she isn't going to change, she just wants me to think she will. Oh well............

Unless I am way off base, I think that the tunnel has a light at the end of it. Today I hauled 5 loads. I really think that tomorrow I can finish up. I have a hair appt at noon but plan to work before and after on it. I think I will go and load up the loose things that would be easier to just load up than pack them. When I get those things hauled over here, then I can go take out all the stuff that is going in the trash. Anything left that needs packed can then be packed and hauled over here. I hope to be able to clean over there on Wednesday, so that dd2 can take pictures and work on getting it listed on for sale by owners.com. She was disappointed that she didn't get to do that on her house, so we are more than happy to let her do it for ours.

I saw Peter Walsh in Dr. Drew and a segment on Anderson de-cluttering was the new years resolution for one couple and some expert was saying to take every thing out of the room... you know the drill. Any way it's a popular topic this week.

I got the toys to donate in the car trunk and gave dd a small bag of items to go back to their house so that helps to get those items out of the trunk. Nothing major 10% less is still an improvement! Yea for that!

I have written a J & C post on along all day, saving it and half-considering posting. By now I guess I'll consider that therapy and let it go. The day has been a mix of getting some things done and being so proud, then having a really bad caregiving day.

Weeklies done were mopping, an extra load of laundry of ddad's linens. I did exercise.

We're in the middle of Accelerated Reader upset here again. Of course we are. I've found a potential choice at the library I'll be passing by Wed. I may call in the a.m. to ask them to hold it. But still I don't see how it's possible for her to find the time.

I can't handle the cold wind on my ears, Harmony, and mine are aching, but I was forced into going out.

Harriet, I think dd16 is planning to test the ph of the yolks and whites, measure mass for yolks, whites, maybe eggs as a whole, compare calcium content in the egg shells (this will involve burning the shells or something at school) and other things which I don't really know. I think a taste comparison should be part of the science project too.
