The banking nearly didn't go smoothly for dh except technology saved him. We have accounts at three banks and we carry bank cards for two of them. He put the wrong card into the machine so it would only let him take out money. Fortunately, he only wanted to deposit so no mistake was made. He just took a long time (and two machines) before he realized his error.

He's not having a good week. This major transformation he was to do for work has taken hours longer than he expected and that was after 12 hours of programming to even get the thing to run. (Each trial took 12 - 30 minutes to discover if he failed.) So he's very distracted. And he suffered 18 hours of severe dizziness on Friday/Saturday. I'm thinking it was ear fluid because decongestants cleared it up.

He mentioned feeling dizzy in passing at bed, took a decongestant and then couldn't sleep all night because of the wiredness plus spinning. He didn't tell me in the morning in case I wouldn't let him do his exercises but then couldn't do his floor exercises (the biking was fine because his head wasn't moving.) It was then he admitted it to me because I had suggested driving somewhere and he didn't feel he could drive.

I made him take his blood pressure which was 89/60. So I made him eat and that helped bring it up to normal. So he's made notes and will mention all this to the cardiac doctor when he goes in April. In the meantime, food and more decongestant helped stop the dizziness. But he lost all of Saturday to that so didn't start this computer work until Sunday afternoon and missed his delivery time of mid-afternoon (in fact the process just finished 15 minutes into the international conference call where everyone was supposed to have reviewed this thing.)

Dinner is done and I've cleaned up the dishes and emptied the garbage.

Dh is on his conference call which distracts me so I can't really work on anything that needs concentration, nor can I run the vacuum. I suppose I should go check my medical kit to see if I have everything I need for the cruise (or make a list for our shopping trip tomorrow.)

I am about to leave payroll. I HAVE FIGURED OUT WHAT TO HAVE FOR DINNER!!! I got some TV dinner style chicken and mashed potatoes that will work fine. No cereal today. I have finished some flow charts. I have figured out my weekend plans. I even have a list of what needs to be done tonight! Now if I just get it done, all will be well.

The list for tonight: copy of itenerary to bag for tomorrow (easy), fill out financial profile (hard), glue Bug-A-Boo leg (easy), dinner (easy), put things away for maid visit on Wednesday (medium).

What a day I have had. * whew *

First, wanted to say I certainly hope dh has no more dizzy/low bp spells, Kathryn! That bp is kinda scary, isn't it?

Elizabeth, your supper sounds pretty good to me. It was our usual night to eat at home, and I had "Smart Ones" quesadillas... (sp?) but I was very dissatisfied. Microwave heating didn't seem "even" to me... still had some cold spots, you know... (probably b/c I didn't let them "sit" the extra minute!) Plus, I didn't have any salsa to go with them, and that really adds a lot to the meal, IMHO... so... I'm just irritable tonight.

We have a laptop cart like you're talking about, Helia, but it always seems like too much trouble to me. I agree w/Harriet -- asking students to bring their personal laptops creates waaay too much difference between the haves & have-nots AND creates huge problem w/misuse. We're in that situation at my school now. We just started allowing cell phones/laptops/etc in class with teacher's permission, to be used for research, etc. Well... of course, every time they finish an assignment a second early, it's "Can we listen to music?" "Can we play a game on our phones?" * sheesh * Administrators had to make a big deal about instructing US to instruct THEM that NOOO... electronics are only allowed in the classroom for instructional purposes. Still difficult to police and it's just a lot more trouble than it's worth.

Very impressed w/Harriet's mastery of the Kindle. Kinda jealous.  I should have gotten one for Christmas, I guess. Of course, now that I've lost wi-fi at home, it would be no use to me here as a laptop-substitute. I really need to "call the man" re: our wi-fi, I guess... but OTOH, we don't really need it at this point.

Excuse my lack of further responses... I'm only going back as far as I can see in topic review. I did cuop, though, and it is still on my mind to give (((hugs))) to helia re: difficult family conversations. Ddad got on my nerves yesterday. I think he realized it though -- which is REAL progress for him, LOL!!! -- and he apologized before I left. :)

OH -- I did want to share my PODA. And quite a parade it has been. I feel that I have been held hostage in the clown car... or maybe the tiger's cage/wagon.
School was okay.
Home --
DH helped load clothes into SUV to take to ironing lady, and we both went to
Ironing lady
CVS
Other drug store
Walmart
Back to CVS, b/c I had to swap bedpads I had gotten dfil on first trip
-- While at CVS, talked to dmom's dfriend for (dh's says) 30 minutes
DH might be exaggerating, but probably not by much. He was already aggravated b/c I had gotten the smaller bedpads the first trip. Now he was REALLY aggravated after he had sat in the car & waited 30 minutes...

Home
Helped dh unload & put away groceries
Dinlaws
Stayed almost 2 hours b/c ds came over while we were there so we were visiting w/him, also
Home
Supper
* ahhhhh... Finally... I can relax a bit. *
Calgon, take me away!!!!!!!!

I'm still at my computer. Some wasted time, some time spent on business expenses. I have a slight problem which I've identified and have a solution for when I get back. I've made notes so I won't forget.

I've printed off a paper copy of the expense spreadsheet and I'll start with that. I can work on the plane with it if I choose or maybe tomorrow while I wait for dh, although I have currency to buy, so maybe not.

I've also identified how much I'll owe on my Visa while I'm away and moved money into my account so I can prepay that bill on Thursday morning before we leave.

I noted the refund from for the preaching CD ROM still hasn't shown up on my account. I guess I'll wait until I get back to raise heck over that.

I still have a ton of filing to do but the business accounting is under control now. The household investments are still a black hole but I think they can wait until we return. I'll double check that we've made our retirement fund investment for 2011 but aside from that nothing needs to be done.

Wow, took me a while to cuop today's posts. I'm not sure what I can remember.

Helia, maybe your DMom just needs to be "needed" and you guys are doing so well, she feels unnecessary to you....

Kathryn, good luck buying your shoes. Hope your DH continues to feel ok.
(Dee) unbelievable, more Med C o problems. Sorry things are rough with DGD.
OKay, stay safe on your long drives to the event. You are so thoughtful to do that.
(Elizabeth) I hope time eases your difficulties.
Nancy, you and I both were at banks today, doing the same thing!

I got all our personal spreadsheets caught up to date. I updated a file I need tomorrow for my insurance audit.

DH and I went to old bank and closed that account. Good riddance. Got a pep talk from the bank lady about what a great bank it is, based on her experience as an employee, not on any customer service policies that's for sure. Then she ended up telling us she has a personal account at the bank we've moved to. LOL, if the bank is so wonderful, why would she have another account somewhere else?!

So, I deposited that check, paid a charge card statement. Then spent a couple hours helping DH fix my quilting rack. We had some rain today, of course while we were out in the driveway using power tools.

Tomorrow morning is my ins. audit so I must clean up the kitchen better as we will be sitting in there. I hope I am ready for it. I think I am.
