Have done all except for garage. Oy, my back is aching! Taking an advil and will sit for a few before proceeding.
-Make some space in the garage for dd's boxes
-unload the car with her assistance
-clean out my car (mainly some water bottles for recycling)
-do a round of straightening up in laundry room
-get rid of 10 pieces of paper (I am drowning in paper. drowning. )
Happy birthday to Sadie!
Norma, you will be back to normal the day after the colonoscopy, if my experience is any indication. The prep is really the worst part of it.

I thought the weather would get better since they are saying it will come later. But no now they have added tornadoes and the lightening will be cloud to ground.
It is going to be interesting if it comes.
I have flashlights in strategic places and I know what code gray and black mean when they call with an automated call. Code gray and black have been in my brain since I worked in the hospital and convalescent home.

Happy Birthday Sadie!!!
Good afternoon, almost evening everyone. Last night I attacked some weeds, called a friend about conflicts in our cruise schedule, and worked with the foster cat. I also got to bed at a reasonable time. I even cut some of my roses for my table. Tonight I won't do anything useful, it is art class night. This weekend, i have DD10 the whole time. We have to work on a diorama for a school project on New Hampshire. I am not looking forward to it because I doubt that she will want to do anything on it.

Elizabeth, on big projects, start early, take breaks! The hardest part for a creative parent when a child has a big project is to go along with their ideas. A disinterested child plus a parent who hasn't gotten to enjoy a creative assignment in a long while equals frustration! But if you pick your battles and let them run with their own ideas you end up on a happier note.
Dee, keep up the good work. You're doing great with dgd.
It has been a hard day for my ddad and I wish so much I knew what changed. It is the first day in a long time he got to walk about 10:00 a.m. - should be a good thing. Other days the time has slipped up on him and it became too hot. Nevertheless, it was pretty hot even then, and I wonder if he became dehydrated. I had a cup of water waiting when he returned but he only drank half and insisted he wasn't hot. Then he took a long nap and awakened worried and confused.
Very impressed with arrival today of Snap..Fish order of our photographic Mother's Day cards for 2 dmils, dd32 and first-year-as-a-mother ddil. It was a complicated order, and I chose cards with as many as 9 mini-photos, outside and in, each card different. SF got them all spot-on, not a hairsbreadth of difference between how I wanted them and how they arrived. For $2.50 a card, good value.
Dd13 is frantically trying to arrange a sleep-over for this weekend. I would really like it if her friend would spend the night with us and attend SS with dd Sun morning, but it begins to sound like it will be Fri night instead, and might even be at the other girl's house.
"Big Bang Theory in 25 minutes", calls HRH - next to last before end of season.

Just begin.
Living this day, today

Re: Happy Birthday Thursday
It's been pouring down rain here this afternoon.
Dinner is done.
I have laundry going one more tub to do.
It's been a rough day some tech. p/c issues. Plus H. said there were 300 applications for one job he was applying for assemly line type of work. ~Sigh ~ I just wept not just for us but for all the folks wanting needing work! It's just so discouraging.
Did get a section read in my book rains have stopped for now. My best TV night is in a bit.

Re: Happy Birthday Thursday
Hmmm, about work, it is quite disappointing around here. DH can't find anyone qualified to work. He put a notice on church bulletin board, and only one woman called (for construction?) and she had no drivers license. Subcontractors aren't diligent either. Two we're waiting on for numbers. One said "my wife forgot to bring home the plan" like it made no difference...other never called back. Such apathy. One took 3 days to do a 1 1/2 day work. This guy said he was sitting around all week with nothing to do. So why couldn't he get ours done?
Employee who didn't show up for the umpteenth time was in the hospital getting high BP adjusted. Okay, I get that, but no call?
I swear if they did away with this extended unemployment everybody would be scrambling and working again.............ok, off my soapbox now.
Wishing good luck to your DH, Nancy. There will be a job somewhere for him.
I am picturing the flying Nun, only it is Indiana with a box... stay safe tonight!
Cooked big package of chicken, enough for a few days. Everything cleaned up. Laundry back in from outside. Lunches made for tomorrow. I guess that's my day.

Re: Happy Birthday Thursday
((Nancy)) It's like this all over. We've seen waiting lines around sides of buildings here when places were taking applications.
Sleepover is cancelled. Mother of the other girl is having to have a spur-of-the-moment attic sale, and when I heard that I told dd to let it go, even though the other girl was still pressing her mother on this. She is a single mother with 2 children and some health problems, and her own mother living with them, and I think things are difficult.
Fun to see Casey Sander (Grace Under Fire's neighbor Nadine's husband) guest starring in BBT tonight. Always liked him.
My eating today was supposed to be a lot better than it was! I think my ddad's difficulties sent me into some emotional eating. It's redeemable, though.
My start on "tomorrow card" tonight includes 2 errands already. So I had ONE day without errands. I will try to accomplish this early in the morning along with school run while HRH can be here at home. (He doesn't have to be here for most school runs, since the school is so close - don't know what we'll do next year when it's farther away. I may have to just take my ddad with me.)
Here's a question for those more knowledgeable in the kitchen than I. My trusty small frying pan with the ceramic-type color non-stick lining (this one is trademarked Thermalon Green Pan) has stopped being non-stick all of a sudden. What did I do wrong? It has been a joy to use for a year or more with omelets just sliding right out. As of the other day, everything sticks, especially egg, which pretty much ruins it for use. Not just a scratch where things stick a little, I mean the whole surface at the same time. Whatever I did, I don't want to do it with other pans!

Ooohhh... I could get on that soapbox with you, Harmony. Hannity, on Fox News, was very good tonight, IMHO.
I am just too tired to climb up ON the soapbox, or anywhere else. I think I may be in bed by 10:30 tonight. I just can't take it anymore.
Not a bad day -- pretty good day, actually -- but I'm just exhausted.
Stay safe, Indiana. I hope the weather warnings are just that -- warnings -- with nothing to show for them!
Waving to ALL!!!
TGIF tomorrow!!! There's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: Happy Birthday Thursday
Thanks for the hugs and kind words {{{Harriet}}} they help! H. was grumpier than an old bear today and you know who is the closest person!
H. decided to call the Realtor her asstitant had told us the wrong day for the showing it is Sun. not Sat. which is a better time for us any way. The "feed back" was the loom out from the wall at a 90 degree angle as per Realor's instructions for staging was bugging folks so we re arranged the basement rec. room I'm glad it was not a structural problem b/c like an diff. window for example would not have happened. So we moved it back next to the wall like I was going to do before she said to leave it. Folks will always have to have one thing to quip about for an excuse b/c they just want to look in my opinion. I noticed the house up the road from us appears to be off the market they had sewer put in must have had some problems. They did not have a sold sign up that I saw.
Things are very slow for concrete places all the trucks were sitting in the office; another place the office was closed for the mo. b/c it was so slow a note on the door said check again next mo. maybe things will pick up. ~Sigh~ if it were not for bad news there would have not been any news today! Ack! Glad today is nearly done.
