Thank you Kathryn for the update - things sound much more calm now, yet plenty of frustration. I know you're grateful you get to hear from him fast, rather than hearing about an earthquake and having to spend time wondering. Technology is grand!

Goodness, lucylee! You're right, much to be thankful for. A trip to laugh about in the future. There's actually some value in that. I love the idea of a banjo for a grandchild.

Oh, I hate being stiff in the mornings, BookSaver! I am convinced my back is at least a decade older in the early morning than at any other time of day! Hope that was temporary and doesn't bug you again.

((Mr. Harmony)) ((((((Harmony))))), come to think of it!

helia, do a little research on timing for the different types and you'll get the best outcome in case you ever decide to ever use one.

Recording it is the only way Hatfields and McCoys will be playing here. HRH watched part of the first one and says he won't allow dd to see it. Hearing that, I rather doubt I'll get into it, but he is recording and considering keeping up with it. He did show me the wonderful Gei co tongue-in-cheek commercial that ran with it, using the theme of the movie and bringing back the caveman. Someone at Ge ico is a genius. No one can say their advertising hasn't been attention-getting - even artistic.

I had to take my ddad's truck today, 3 towns away to a very crowded old-town area built for MUCH smaller vehicles. I tried 2 diagonal parking spaces (nail-biting tight) before I found a straight one that the truck fit, in an actual parking lot that is triangularly shaped.

Then when I returned, a delivery truck was double parked in such a way against the triangular center spaces as to block exit for both my truck and the lady in a car beside me. Had my truck not been so LONG she could have managed alone, I think. As it was, I had to get out and direct her past my rear bumper. Then, with no delivery man in sight and a storm coming, I decided to try to get out, too. Using her parking space diagonally I see-sawed back and forth until I made it out. The storm was so rough but thankfully I passed through it while in the truck and there was only a drizzle when I got home.

I've taken care of all my healthy habits today. Have exercised for 30 minutes this evening.

Dstepdil has called to finalize plans for our housecleaning day tomorrow.

I rolled dd's hair in socks tonight according to a YouTube video. If it turns out well, I'll share, but if you hear nothing, it flopped!

I'm back up from a nap...today was genuinely too much, but I shouldn't complain after reading what y'all have been going through. Funny to read, I'm sure not funny to be in those predicaments.

Well, DH was the one down in the hole but I was downwind, helping with the ladder, pulling and pushing his boots on and off (he can no longer get his boots on by himself), helping to fish things back and forth. He got what he needed at the store, but now he's stumped by the wiring, finding another set he hadn't counted on. I think we've figured it out, but to make sure he called original installer who, of course, was already in bed. DH says, yeah I'd be in bed too if I wasn't down in the hole.

So while he showers, quick, don't use a lot of water dumping into non-working system, I take sponge bath and then wash dishes and empty basins of water outside...and make him some eggs for dinner at around 9. Sigh... soaking 2 TShirts in bucket of sudsy bleach water, which tears up my ultra-delicate skin and I can no longer stretch my fingers out straight...

Ok, going off to do hand treatment with every lotion I have on hand and put on white cotton gloves for sleeping..something I have to do every so often. I hope I can get back to sleep. I hope we can get our house back up in running condition without too much trouble before 12-40 teenagers come tomorrow eve. for the bonfire. I might have to tell them to pee in the bushes, and the girls will have to wait.... :?
