I worked out my whole outfit for Sunday, including hairstyle, jewelry and shoes. The effect is late 30's. The black crinoline works fine so the cotton of the dress must be good quality. Dh offered to take a picture for you but I said to wait until Sunday when my makeup is done and my hair is properly curled. I hurt my finger before my hair was dried this morning so it just got a quick blow dry and is an 'interesting' style today, far too much curl and not in any discernible style/direction.

If my finger heals more, I'll take apart the neck loop on my fancy bib apron and add a pin soI can pin it in place while baking the cake with the kids. The apron won't fit over the hat and the hat will be firmly affixed to my head (it is one that sits on the back/side not on the top of my head) so I can't take it off in front of people.

I've opted to wear sandals. They are not the right look but since I'm up and down the stairs to the choir loft so often during the service, I need to have something I'm steady with.

Dh has gone for pizza for dinner. He sold a book today and we used to always have pizza when there was a book sale. With me feeling slightly shaky still, we decided pizza was still a good choice. And he didn't have it at all when in Italy.

We're having another rainy day here. Forecast is for rain every day thru at least the 16th of June or till this weather system goes away. It's good, though, because we do need the rain and the gloominess doesn't depress me.

Harriet, I laughed when I read the cartoon. Haven't seen that one for a long time since we don't get the paper any more. I really do think that our pets can tell before us that weather is going to happen.

Our Betta died sometime last night; I've given him a watery burial. Dgd10 & 17 gave him to us about three years ago, and I've enjoyed watching and taking care of him all that time, but I hope they don't give us another one any time soon!

Someone mentioned handicapped parking tags recently. When dh's niece was here two wks ago she mentioned that he should apply for one. He mentioned it to his dr. last week and she signed a paper for him to take to DMV. He got it that day and he's used it several times since. Makes it a little easier for him now.

Today was our county's last day of school. Our boys' high school grad ceremonies were held in one of the local civic arenas. That has since been torn down to make room for another public venue, but this year's commencement was held at Tropicana Field today at 3 pm. Hope they didn't get rained on. Our school has over 2 thousand students, not sure of the count of the graduating class this year, but it's always a big production here.

I've done my usual weekly routine; supper is done, just have to clean up a few dishes so I can relax for the rest of the evening.

Yes, it is very noisy here. The busy US hiway is only about 50 - 75 feet from the front of our MH - up a steep ditch. An hour or so ago - 7 police cars from Sheriff's to State Police went by with lights and sirens. There were also 3 or 4 unmarked cars traveling very fast with them. Wonder what is going on up the road?

I took the nap but didn't do the laundry. There is always tomorrow.

Well, I am off of unpaid payroll. I will be shutting down this computer and heading to dinner at Cracker Barrel, then art class. I won't get anything done house-wise tonight. I never do on Thursdays. I have to come to some sort of decision regarding my Intel stock soon.

Oh, sorry about your fish, Sunny. Was the fish tank a lot of work to keep clean? Good idea to get the handicap tag. I should get one for DH. But then he'd want one for his truck, and wouldn't that look odd, a handicap sticker on a construction truck.

Today sure was some other kind of day. I was busy all day with business chores. I have several things needing done and the house is a sea of papers. I will work on them this evening for an hour. That's all the time I'm giving it, the rest will wait till tomorrow. I'm just feeling nervous about the disarray of things around here and this huge project DH is working on that has suddenly exploded our paperwork. We are having to keep track of plans and permits for county, the homeowner and his family who is helping, and the VA who is paying us. They generate gobs of paperwork and requirements. Homeowner wants several more things done, and usually that's not a problem, but we not only have to go back to the county, we must contact the VA with more plans...I'm feeling less than confident we can get through all of this.

Fella from church was here again tonight (he came last eve. too) to help DH dig out an access for the one septic tank which didn't have an access. Tonight they custom-cut the blocks for the walls, which DH will pour solid with whatever concrete is left tomorrow (we hope). We will make another top for it later. I'm glad he got some help, digging is too much for both of us.

It seems like too much going on at once. I'm praying for no more rain tonight. It sprinkled for a few minutes. Last night it rained a lot. DH had to pump out his footers which were swamped.

Kitchen cleaned up after dinner; lunches made (with 1 extra for extra helper, big job tomorrow they're pouring concrete). Fax sent. I'm trying not to worry about the work.

Oh boy, MT, that is a lot of police. Once when our boys were young I had just picked them up from school and a couple of fire trucks zoomed by with lights and sirens. They talked me into following them to see what happened....turned out to be a small house fire, nothing to see but a little smoke. It satisfied their curiosity and we never did that again! Hope the traffic noise doesn't keep you awake tonight.

Harmony, Li'l Dude's tank was only a one gallon triangle shape tank but with a light in the hood and an air pump. I had those half marbles and one sprig of plastic greens in it. It wasn't hard to keep clean - washed everything and changed water every three months and just added some fresh water each month. Fed him twice a day and he was happy!

When dh got his Handi parking tag he told them we would be traveling up north to see dfam#3. The DMV Lady gave him an extra tag. He can use it with any car he's riding in, but he has to get out of the car in the handicapped space; can't be dropped off at the entry door. You are also not supposed to drive with it hanging on the mirror, but I see that done all the time. It is good for five years. Your dh could probably qualify for one with the trouble he has walking, just has to get a doctor to sign a paper to take to DMV. Never hurts to ask!

Ok, another Anniversary task finished - I wrote the introduction to the guest preacher. He was one of my teachers but I've never heard him preach. Actually, he's heard me preach (he was critiquing me) but I've never heard him.

Dh started the dishwasher. Ds is leaving tonight at midnight to drive to NYC. My son is crazy. But it means they'll have more of the day there tomorrow.

I'm not feeling overly well right now. It could be from over eating, a lack of veggies today (although I snacked a fair bit while making the coleslaw) or perhaps just the shock wearing off. I'm afraid to unbandage my finger. Perhaps I'll wait until the morning. There is plenty of gaps for air to get in so leaving it covered overnight might be the best idea.

I didn't get much paperwork done. I did gather it into piles. I copied some forms off for new employee tomorrow.

Hard part about getting the sticker would be getting DH to the doctor. He does have troubles walking long distances. But I suppose there are people who need those spaces more.

I mowed today around noon then soon as I was done with that dd called and I was on for granny duty @ dd's house so I did that until nearly seven split shift dd & I had a good visit. Did my qt over there and I was able to put my feet up after I mowed and have a breather after mowing while dgd napped! Saw dgson too before he headed out to play with friends. Saw a deer across the way and they found a turkey nest complete with a turkey on it hatching eggs! How cool is that?
