Elizabeth--Send us a postcard!
Sorry to see the news about Andy Griffith. Mayberry is my kind of place. Grew up quoting Barney Fife..."Nip it in the bud."
Saw online that my childhood friend's mother died recently. She was the nicest lady. Her house was child-friendly, with no furniture in the living room. It was the perfect place for kids to spread out with coloring books! She had Halloween parties for the whole street--complete with treasure maps that we would follow to find treats in her backyard. She watched me for a summer while my mother worked. During that time , her elderly father had many doctor's appointments. We would all go along to take him to the doctor and she would let us kids play in the fountain outside at doctor's office. We'd sit on a towel and wear our wet clothes home. Good times...

Re: Tuesday Triumphs
Below is what I was trying to post hours ago -- 4, 5? No, 6.
If I don't at least hurry and post this, interruptions may keep me away who knows how long.
Because I didn't have even one more moment when I posted earlier, I missed lucylee's post right above mine, and ds27 had to call me to tell me of Andy Griffith's death. I remembered to him that when he was 13, and we brought his baby sister home from the hospital, his older sister happened to have the television on The Andy Griffith Show, as we so often did, and it was caught on camera as HRH videoed the moment. He surprised me by saying that he was also watching Andy Griffith during the waiting at the hospital for dgs's birth, and then when they left the room for delivery but still had to wait, he decided to download an Andy Griffith onto his phone, and kept it on for he and ddil there, too.

Re: Tuesday Triumphs
Walk done.
Lunch today was onions from the garden w/ eggs cheese and some home made sweet potato fries hot dog h. grilled ahead Sun. & roll.
Pulled some weeds watered some in the grass in front and garden areas in the back.
Have started the last batch of yarn on the lemon yellow project.
Planted some winter onions.
It's very windy here today but not so hot so that is good.
The Realtor called today to check in and see if we were interested in doing an open house this weekend I declined she told me how slow it's been her grown boys are realtor's also and she's been having to help support them too.

Rest In Peace Andy Griffith
I am sure "Opie Cunningham" is feeling bad today.
Kathryn's pictures of Nova Scotia are just beautiful. What an awesome place. My grand-father was born in New Brunswick but some of his sibs moved to NS. (His either grand-father or great-grand-father was a Loyalist of 1782. I have always wanted to visit that part of Canada but I am afraid the years are growing shorter now.
I think I have mentioned before that DD taught DGD to count to 5 in five languages. She will be 3 in Sept. and has been doing this for months. She does English, Spanish, French, Japanese and Farsi. (DD was a Pharmacy Tech and lots of her customers
were Persian so she took a class so she could speak with them in their language. Yesterday her carpet was cleaned by a couple of Persian young men so DGD did "her thing" for them in their language and they just whooped and hollered. Couldn't believe this little American girl - not even 3 - was treating them by speaking in their language. She never ceases to amaze us.

Re: Tuesday Triumphs
I only got 3 of my 5x5 done, and it was more like 3x8, LOL. I just have had NO energy AT ALL today... especially after walking. It didn't even seem all THAT hot, really, considering that it was probably in the very high 90s... but there was a good bit of wind. It was a HOT wind though... like standing in front of the blow-dryer.
Apparently we have no plans for the 4th. Dmom said they were going to my aunt's house, but no one has invited us. I'm sorta wondering if dmom was supposed to pass on the invitation to us, you know... and it just slipped her mind? Because those kinds of things DO happen w/my dmom... bless her heart...
But dh said, "Good. We don't have to go." LOL. It IS too hot to sit around outside all afternoon, and if they are getting together late in the afternoon, he'd rather watch the Braves. So... probably just an ordinary day tomorrow for us. That's okay, too.

Tomorrow is another day.

It is 9:25 and all is well. My list is done except for two items I decided were not important. Tomorrow's list is very simple: wake up way too early, put 2 last minute items in carryon, turn off alarm, get suitcase and carryon to car, get breakfast, and go to the airport. The flight leaves at 8 am and the web page says be there 3 hours early!!! I am going to get up at 4:00 (YUCK!) and I should be at breakfast at 5:00 right by the airport. I am going to bed now, I hope I can get to sleep. Four am comes far too soon.

Re: Tuesday Triumphs
I tried to get here earlier and started to read, but there was a storm and internet got knocked off...so I shut everything down.
Today was DFiL birthday and he took entire family out for dinner. He picked a fish restaurant and all day I saved up my calories so I could have fish and chips and cake. It was wonderful. They put re-lighting trick candles on his cake and that was really mean since he can barely blow them out the first time! He had to have help.
OKay, I'm sorry your family isn't coming after all your work. I wish I could take the food off your hands as I have family coming! Friday and Sat. They have invitation to DSiL's sister's place for picnic and we're invited to go along. I guess we probably will if it's ok with DH.
Tomorrow DH is working half a day. He wants to go to the beach, but I have a meal to deliver early afternoon. I might be able to take it earlier.
My triumph is that I've made another plan and began sewing. Drafted a pattern and began. Going to be pretty easy and quick, this one.
Have a wonderful trip, Elizabeth. I don't envy you having to get up that early.
Lucylee, DBaby sounds perfectly normal to me. At that age babies sleep practically all the time!
We keep our house at 80°. I prefer 78° but this house is large, so we've set it higher. We have overhead fans and use them when we feel too hot, but only in the rooms we are in. It's really too hot at night. We sleep with just a sheet, and sometimes not even that.
Was Indiana here today? I might have missed her if she was. Hoping she's feeling better than yesterday.

Re: Tuesday Triumphs
My triumph came in the form of an e-mail from DB! It arrived after midnight, but I'll count it for Tuesday. All is well.
