Ohhhh!!!! I got here just in time!!! Sooo excited for
Dee & family!!! Saying a prayer for safe & easy delivery.
Ditto
Harriet -- I'm glad dbaby got to choose his own birthday!!!
(All seems perfectly fine w/our little dgson, but dh & I will always wonder if doctor & ddil just wanted to rush delivery to suit doctor's schedule & ddil's impatience!

)
Colors & smells...
I always answer that my favorite colors are baby blue and/or any ocean tones/teal/turquoise, etc... but I also love pastel yellow, pink, and green.
Smells... hmmm... vanilla, coconut, cinnamon, maple, coffee (although I do NOT drink coffee)... newborn baby...

... ocean/salt water smells... rain... and the brickmason's ruler -- the kind that folds out, back & forth -- that still sorta smells like my granddaddy.
Tonight however... and this is a HUGE TA-DA for me -- and a HUGE SHOCK for y'all -- are y'all sitting down?
Tonight the best smell was spaghetti w/homemade sauce... crescent rolls... salad... & cupcakes (salad & cupcakes were straight from the package). I MADE SUPPER FOR DS/DDIL/& DMIL TONIGHT!!! Can y'all believe it??? Well, no... of course you can't believe it, b/c no one can remember the last time I actually cooked something requiring more than the microwave. But mmmm... it was good.
I actually almost had a panic attack before I finally asked them if they'd like to come over, but I really felt that I needed to do this. I had not cooked for ddil in the whole two years they've been married, and with the new baby here, I really thought it was about time I acted like a good mother-in-law/grandma!
Everyone cleaned their plates & ds & dh went back for seconds, so I don't think I've forgotten how to operate the stove.
Now, I just need to develop a few other meals I'm confident with.
Best colors tonight? My fine china, which I used, which ds said he had NEVER eaten from -- but that's not true, LOL! -- and the color of dgson's skin... and the color of the clouds when it rained tonight.
Well. On another note, my computer is REALLY acting up, so if I disappear at some random point in the future, that's what it will be. Every once in a while, my mouse & keyboard just cease to function. Sometimes, ctrl/alt/delete will get it back, but at least once, we had to just shut down w/the power button and start over. We know we're on borrowed time with this computer... we're just trying to let it die on its own time, I guess, rather than giving up on it and buying a new one while it's still working.
Harriet -- I am so sorry about the unexpected news from school. Stuff like that is always so aggravating, and seems like these administrator types do this ALL the time. Coaches do it too. I know we can't expect them to say, "Well, I am here with you guys 100% and I plan to retire in this job -- unless XYZ High School accepts my application, that is. Then y'all are on your own." * sheesh * I don't know how they SHOULD handle these sorts of situations, but it certainly does cause people to lose faith in them when they just out & out LIE to their teams/students/faculty/PTO, etc. I hope y'all get a principal you & dd will just LOVE. (((HUGS)))
I'm 4 pages late, so y'all please forgive me for lack of personal responses. I know I've been out of the loop a lot lately -- I hope y'all forgive me for that, too. I'm blaming it on new-grandma syndrome!
