I'm sick! I have a fever - no wonder I feel so lousy.

I lay down for an hour and dd called. She wasn't to get home until 9 my time but fell down a mountain so came home early. And will be home for a couple of days while her twisted ankle heals.

I'm making soup for my dinner and dh has his Chinese.

I'm late for this---

August 1 Sturgeon Moon because this large fish which is found in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain was caught easily at this time.

August 3 - Watermelon Day

August 6 - Fresh Breath Day

August 13 - International Left-Handers Day

August 25 - Secondhand Wardrobe Day

August 31 Blue Moon second full moon. "Once in a blue moon" refers to the rarity of the occurrence of a second moon happening in the same given month.

Oh boy a 'blue moon'!

I'm T dd's waiting for dinner. Now she & ds-R have gone for a walk. I usually don't eat with them because it's just too late for me. I sautéed cauliflower with garlic over an hour ago. Don't want them
Mad at me but. Not sure how much longer I can hold out. Ds & ddil's schedules are not good.

I'm disappointed only international left-handers get a day but domestic ones get nothing!

putting feet up for a short break...sipping a cup of ice tea

Cake project is completed!

Friday Night Gang just pulled out of the driveway. We had a great time together and challenged each other (in a good way).

DSon and family should be pulling in the driveway within the next hour. I am SOOOOO looking forward to this weekend with them!

Fires. Most weather radars show rain showers....our weather radar just show clouds of smoke. The fires are causing evacuation of couple of towns north of us. No fires are near us. It was over 110 degrees again today. The extreme heat is dangerous in itself, but especially combined with fire. Keeping those emergency workers, firemen and all involved supporting them in my prayers.

Dh is practicing some of the music for the worship during meetings so I can't practice my singing. Sigh. Open concept houses can really suck at times.

Tried to post from my Iphone at dd's a second time and was told that my IPhone was black listed. Hoping this works now that I'm on my computer.

DH is already in bed and I'm heading there. Hoping everyone has a good evening. Have a great time with DS, Okay. Glad for you.

Busy day.

To the Big City this morning to buy groceries. Restocked the pantry and also bought an assortment of fresh veggies to take to the family picnic on Sunday as requested by my older DSis.

Another 4 hours this afternoon at the library getting ready for tomorrow's book sale. One of the committee members had gone all over Tiny Town in the past week asking for donated items for a silent auction. She brought in a LOT of very nice things. I offered to help her finish labeling everything, write out the bid sheet forms, and set up the auction display. It took a long time because even combining some things into themed baskets, there are over 40 lots for people to bid on. The silent auction part of the sale will continue to run until next Saturday.

(Actually, the books will remain on display for sale throughout the week, too. People can go in the room any time the library is open for normal hours, and payment will be made by dropping cash in a locked metal box on the honor system.)

I also tidied the book sale tables and unpacked donations that came in today. It's normal that donations continue to come in even while the book sale is going on.

Once I got home and while I was cooking supper, I made a dozen signs for the price list to put up around the room, and one to have at the cash table. Hard cover books 50 cents, paperbacks 25 cents, DVDs 50 cents, VHS tapes 10 cents -- no one should complain about the prices.

By doing so much today, we don't have to go in especially early tomorrow. It's all set up ready to go. The sale runs 9 to 4. A lot of people volunteered to help sell, so that should work out well.

I've been doing laundry tonight and answering Emails.

I'm going to try to get to bed before midnight, since I need to be out in public first thing in the morning.

Off to cuop ...
