Oy vey. I may not survive until dd goes back to school. She is in a mood. We did locate her missing items - comforter and pillow were in her room, as I advised, and I had repurposed one of her storage containers and so turned it back over to her. She is absolutely poisonous to me today. Maybe it's a distancing thing so she won't miss me when she leaves?

The fundraiser at the temple was quite successful - well attended, fun, and profitable. It's a good sign when lots of people are still hanging out when it's over. This morning I called a good local florist and send mixed flowers to the lady who was the chair - and just got a nice phone call and she was delighted. It's also her birthday, she said. We haven't had a great relationship so I'm feeling I did something right!

Dh is bowling tonight and dkids and I will order pizza. Dcleaning lady got here this morning and said that front door was locked. I was almost sure I left it unlocked tho - so we won't get cleaned this week. (I'm wondering if perhaps she didn't push hard enough to open it? dd has had that issue.) Cowinkie, the Laurence and the camels will be trying to homestead in the dust the ddogs have tracked in. Dh is considering going ahead soon with sodding the back yard before the house next door is completed - would facilitate getting a truck and equipment into the back yard too.

Dcleaning lady did say that she might be able to clean the old house one evening, tho.

Sadie, I'm also thrilled that your trip went well, and that you and dh had such a wonderful time.

Hi everyone! Yesterday was extremely unproductive - I actually slept until 4:30 in the afternoon and was still tired enough to go to bed at 10:00. Today I am doing better. I guess I just needed sleep after having DD10 for the week. XDH and I are swapping Sat and Sun with DD. That means I will have her on Sunday and can take her to church, he has not been. Unfortunately, she does not like going to church and sitting through the 'long talk', so I will have to think of something to make it worth her while. Reason for the switch - cat adoption clinic on Sunday is cancelled indefinitely and I have to get the cats to the Saturday clinics, which have more traffic and more adoptions.

My dryer is dying so I am buying a drying rack tonight. I do not want to dry things outside, I don't like bird output on my clothes, so it has to fit in the house. I have called a repairman for the dryer. We had a nice rain yesterday. I need to get rid of some weeds, do some errands, put away previous LOLs and other things. I should probably also cook some chicken for lunches. There were a few more odds and ends I need to take care of as well. I posted two resumes today, I need to continue throwing resumes to the world.

Back home.

Got there 20+ minutes early, got taken 15 minutes early and was out in 30 minutes. No feedback from the tech or the doctor but no audible gasps either. She did ask about colour of my 'waste' (both are traditional colours for liver disease, no matter how much I drink - yesterday I managed to down 12 glasses of liquid, all but 4 were water.)

Ds finished up his work early and turns out was training in his hospital so we met up with him and I had a sandwich and a chat.

Then dh and I picked up some groceries and the mail and came home. Dh is now over at a church member's house working to get her internet back up.

I'm in bed. I'm exhausted. My sore tummy didn't go away after eating. In fact it got worse but is relaxing a bit now that I'm back in bed.

Not sure if I'll eat much, if anything for dinner. At this point, I only eat if I want to. I did buy healthy juice since I had bought Cranberry-peach cocktail by accident. May as well have bought soda. Dh is thrilled he can drink the rest of it. I also remembered more saltines since they are still a comfort food. The store had two good meat sales on things we are low on so I stocked up on extra lean ground beef and chicken thighs.

Still nice and cool today (mid 70s) so I have been able to get a bunch of stuff done in rooms that were formerly much too hot. *\o/*

Kathryn ~ I'm glad you were able to get in & out of test zone so quickly.

Okay & Dee ~ I love 3x5 cards, too. I find them comforting because they prove that I'm not as lazy as I sometimes feel.

Harriet & Lucylee ~ I am glad to see someone else admit to still wearing hose. Every now and then I run into the show "What Not to Wear" and they always insist on bare legs with skirts. I disagree with them, for me bare feet in dress shoes are painful, and my legs don't look good enough to go bare to a dressy occasion.

I am quite far behind with some projects because of spending so much time on the library book sale. Nevertheless, I'm having a good Monday.

Breakfast: fresh peach, multi-grain bar, coffee with milk

Normal Monday morning multi-tasking:
* Fed the cats
* Put dishes in the sink to soak
* Sorted laundry
* Started first load in the washer
* Checked Email
* Washed dishes
* Adjusted the DVR programming to stop recording several shows that will be in reruns for awhile
* Went through a basket of mail and tossed a bunch into the recycle bin
* Figured out what to cook for meals

Lunch: poached eggs & buttered toast. I was going to make egg salad, but DH is home today and he wanted the eggs left plain.

Afternoon:
* Cleared a little space on the kitchen counter
* Flipped laundry
* Scooped cat boxes
* S2S
* Tried on a bunch of clothes to see if they still fit, and put together outfits
* Drank a big glass of iced tea
* Searched & located some jewelry that I've been missing
* Washed out cans & bottles for recycling
* Filled the crock pot with soapy water to soak
* Scrubbed out the cast iron skillet

Supper will be a recipe I found in a Paula Deen cookbook. Italian sausage, tomato sauce, half & half (which I am substituting for her heavy cream), and rigatoni. I'll cook the last of DSis's zucchini to go with, along with some fresh veggies.

This evening I want to
* Scrub the crock pot
* Wash the dishes DH brought up from his man cave
* File sewing group paperwork
* Figure out agenda for sewing group board meeting
* Declutter a pile of sewing supplies
* Watch the final episode of The Closer and first episode of Major Crimes (will record them and fast forward thru commercials)

Love reading Sadie trip reports. I agree - Sadie is wonderful!!

ellyphant - Nine trees? Wow! Your yard must be blessed with many trees. They are advising people in our little corner of the world to keep tree canopies 30' apart from each other to reduce the wild fire fuel. A couple years ago we lost 10 big trees in our yard so now we are down to just a dozen or so.

I'm cooling down after spending an hour outside with LO. It was 106 in the shade by the garden. I was able to get one section of the garden dug up and ready to plant next week. Another section is now free of old vines and covered with a fresh layer of mulch.

Next up -

I've gone with bare legs with skirts for several years and I'm very, very fair. I don't worry about the pale legs; after shower if I'm wearing a skirt I do moisturize legs with a mix of just a regular moisturizer and a little of the J ergens self tanning stuff for fair skin tones. By mixing it with regular moisturizer, I don't usually get streaks and it does build up to a somewhat tanned look if I use it regularly. I have to say, my legs are my best feature these days.

Dh started bowling again tonight - I've always considered Monday nights to be kind of a night "off" for me while he's out. Have been wasting time on computer so I'll go read after the pizza shows up and we eat. Everyone is sounding so productive for today, of course, I did work today (insert small whine here.)

Swim clothes laid out. Forgot to get cash to pay teacher....will go do that right now.

Sadie--I have enjoyed reading about your trip along with everyone else.

I am another one who wears pantyhose with dresses or skirts, which I only ever wear to church. Most other times, capris work for me. My skintone is olive, but veins still show up very well!

Okay--We are surrounded by woods, with a small amount of grass to cut. If we ever had wildfires here, there is plenty of fuel for them. Our plan is to clear all the dead wood and clean things up. 106? Hope you cool off soon. Our humidity was gone today and it felt like fall here.

Learned my do it now lesson of the day! One of the weeds was so large, I could not pull it up and had to hack it apart and leave the roots. My trash can is now full of weeds, good thing that they pick up on Wed and I have nothing but cat stuff to go in. I have not cooked anything for lunches this week, still need to. Need to take a shower. I have put away a LOL. I did not wash a load because there is not much there, I thought I had more.

I am very discouraged about my job situation right now.
