It has been a full and blessed day!

LO meet with his counselor for an hour. When they came out, she said it went well. She said LO talked to her about his parents.....although he doesn't refer to them that way. He calls them by their first names. I have no idea what LO said to her. I think I would find it Interesting to hear a 4 year old viewpoint of his/our life.

DGS15 and DGS17 talked non-stop the whole time we were together. A couple of times DGS15 started texting me because he wanted to tell me things but DGS17 wasn't giving up the conversation. Silly boys.....they can call me anytime and talk, they don't have to save it all up for when we are eye-2-eye.

Meet and greet @ LO school is just a memory now. LO loved it and didn't want to leave. DH and I both have good feelings about his teacher and classroom environment.
There will be 14 students in his class. One of the other students mother and I connected. We are going to meet tomorrow to let the boys have a play date together so they can get to know each other before school starts. They also have matching nap mats.

* whew * I am really dragging tonight... took a long nap, but I still plan to get exercise in before bed. I should be able to sleep well tomorrow night, also, but Thursday, as I've told y'all before, I'll be on my own w/dgson -- at least until the wee hours.

Oh my goodness... the worries a new grandbaby can give an obsessive new grandma... just read in USAToday that 8 children died in one week after being forgotten & left in hot cars! I had already mentioned this danger to ds several weeks ago, and his response was something like, "How stupid do you think we ARE???" But of course, none of the people who have suffered this unbelievable tragedy were likely to consider themselves stupid. * sigh *

First Day of Last Year
Well... one thing I will NOT miss is getting my room set up at the beginning of school. When they re-do the floors, the floors look SOOO beautiful... BUT... the furniture in the room looks like it was stirred w/a huge electric mixer. NOTHING is anywhere NEAR where it should be.
Add to my thankful list:
Thankful for wonderful dfriend, assistant football coach, who helped move my filing cabinets back to their correct places.
I will miss catching up w/dfriends after summer break. I told them I might just come back on the first day of school to hear all their stories again next year!
My classes are likely to be pretty crowded this year... especially my newspaper staff period, which works MUCH better when it's a small group... AND a "reading remediation" class that is going to be filled with low level, low motivated, struggling students. We'll probably ALL be struggling through THAT. Thankful it's 2nd period of the day -- get it over early!

Glad to hear Kathryn feels like eating good stuff again!

(((Twins))) I don't envy you the positition of being in the middle of all the temple drama...

Nancy -- I'm in the same situation as you w/cold temps in church. I always want to have some sort of sweater or sleeve, at least.
And, like Harriet, I do not want to see my minister of music, or preacher, in cargo pants & tank top. Our preacher actually HAS made "casual summer" a year-round event, and I can't remember the last time we saw him in a tie. He MIGHT wear a jacket, but not with a tie... usually wears a polo-style shirt. This, as you can imagine, is very disconcerting to the true "old school" Methodists, who would really like to see the preacher in his ROBE. Growing up as I did, in a little country Baptist church, it doesn't bother me so much.
I do wear pants sometimes on Sunday mornings, but that sorta bothers the "old school" Methodist I'm married to, so I don't do it often.
Other than that one hour on Sunday morning, and the occasional wedding or funeral, you will not see me wearing that instrument of the devil, either!

Sooo glad to hear things are going well for LO, OKay!!! You have so much to be proud of! You have truly been an instrument from Heaven in that little boy's life -- as well as your other grandsons'. I hope dgs will someday want to talk to me as much as your teen boys do you!

How on earth does it get to be so late so early???

I got the meat freezing done. Yesterday, I went to the store on the way home from the hospital and picked the store specifically because of two items of meat they had on sale (and I use the term 'sale' loosely, not sure if you'd call chicken thighs at $1.99/lb a sale but in Canada, with its chicken marketing board, it is a sale.)

Got ripped off on the ground beef I bought. Extra lean was on sale for $2.88/lb which is a good price here. Put back the first package of extra lean I found in an end bunker because it was not $2.88/pound. Looked across and found the family size packs, saw the sales sticker, price was $6something a kg (things are advertised by the pound but sold by the kg) so popped it in my cart. Turns out it was lean ground beef (my price point for that is $1.99 pound.) When I compared it with the flyer, Extra lean was $6.35/kg and I paid $6.15/kg so it was about the right price but of course I got an inferior product. I'm out $3 plus I don't have the right sort of meat.

I'll be writing a letter. I've saved the packaging and my receipt.

One should not have to be in 100% health, rested and non-distracted in order to do grocery shopping.

With the North America drought they are saying grocery prices will go up so today's paper had tips to save money. Not one of them referred to watching for bait and switch by the grocery stores but had I caught the error, I would have not paid 10% too much for my grocery trip.

I'm glad that Kathryn's numbers are improving. Also very glad that the Okay family had such a good day.

I know I thought of other replies when cuop but I'm too tired to remember them.

Need to be up at 5 and I still need to run antivirus updates on my netbook before I can go to sleep. I will be in meetings and classes tomorrow through Monday. No idea if I will be able to check in here, I might only have time for brief Emails.

Dress code will be business casual, whatever that means these days, plus a couple of dressy nights. Yes, I will be wearing pantyhose with my skirts.
