SHE PASSED!! Happy Puppy Dance!

Dd16 wants to go to the Sec. of State's office tomorrow at 8 a.m. to apply for her license. LOL! She never wants to go anywhere at 8 a.m.

2 down and 1 more to go. Dh does the bulk of the work with them.

I'm making a dent in the work:
x 3 bulbs of shallots diced
x more laundry put away
x living room tidied and most horizontal surfaces dusted/wiped down

Next:
-chop 2 large onions
-quick vacuum of liv. areas
-put away more clothes that are now on my bed

It is good to read that LO was so excited and had a good day at school today. Time to start a new photo scrapbook!

Welcome to Bernice1027! It is nice hearing about you and your family. Sounds like they are keeping you busy! My dh and I are retired, have three grown dsons and eight dgkids ages 6 to 17. Two of our families live here locally and one is out of state.

Sadie, it was nice to hear you got a good eval and a nice raise. It means a lot when they put it in writing like that!

((Harmony)) I'm sorry to hear what your dh said. He sounds like he's discouraged. I so wish I had an answer for you! I know it's hard to stay positive, but keep doing the good work you are doing!

Today was errand day. We dropped off a cable tv payment then took a ride out to the new W Mart in Tarpon Springs. Their grand opening was yesterday, but I thought they would be too busy to enjoy touring the store. Ds#1 had transferred here from another store that was further away from his home. He now has only 5 miles to drive to work; we happened to see him just as we were walking into the store, so talked to him for a few minutes. They have added back to the sewing/craft dept. and now have a good selection of material again. Talked to one of the associates there and she said the home office had received a lot of feedback when material was discontinued in all stores and will be adding it back eventually to most stores during future remodels. It pays to talk to management as Kathryn found out when buying her milk!

Ddogs have been fed and their dishes washed; I have heated our vegetable soup and we're ready to eat now.

The village is buzzing with positive energy due to so many reasons to celebrate in our SHE village today. A new neighbour, a birthday, a first day of school, a driver's license, a good day at work and many little accomplishments... so many blessings.

Hi everyone, and welcome to Bernice. I had lunch with one of the friends I went on vacation with. While we were eating, the other friend called and reported she is cancer free now! Big happy dance. She even asked me if I still wanted to plan another vacation. (We are already collecting info on Hawaii). I applied for two jobs, one of which is modeling and simulation (my favorite). I came home from work early to get my dryer repaired and it is being fixed as I type. I have done a 15 min LR pickup and subtracted out my checkbook. I have my weekend planned mostly. XDH and I have switched, I now have DD10 on Sunday and he has her on Saturday. I told her this meant she had to go to church with me. I was expecting resistence, but she said she wanted to go. I told her she could have gotten her dad to take her, but she said she didn't want to argue with him. I seriously doubt he would have had any objections! DD is also looking forward to school starting.

Woo Hoo! More good news! My dryer can be fixed. It needs two carrier rollers at $35 each and of course the installation, but that is a lot cheaper than a new dryer. With my job situation, I do not need any more expenses. Of course, at the dentist yesterday they said I had a cracked tooth (had no idea), so there will be extra expense this month. But at least I can keep it down to a minimum.

Yes, thank you, dd13 is now dd14. Her sleepover friend has gone. Ds27 dropped by with his family and their present because he doesn't think he'll be able to come when dd32's family comes this weekend. Such is the way it goes! Dstepson is calling me back to let me know if he can come during the time dd32 is here, and if so, I have the party things awaiting, cards set aside.

I took dd14 (sigh) out to eat at Olive Garden, which is very unusual for us. HRH's sister had given her enough of a Belk gift certificate to really think she had something. And we tried to find items there, but this Belk is very urban in a rather affluent area and she had sticker shock, explaining with each potential purchase that she could find the same thing elsewhere for less. Also I believe their buyer has lost touch with the needs of teens. I'll take her when I can to the small-town Belk and I think she'll be able to relax in their atmosphere, with their buyer's taste, and with their pricing.

Sadie, I am not at all surprised that you are an exemplary employee. Congratulations.

Bernice, also Elizabeth's dd is not much older than yours - 10 years old. A few hours before you posted this morning, mine went from 13 to 14!

In fact, LisaB, blessedw2 and helia all have daughters close in age to mine.

helia, you are allowed, I would think, to walk through the school at another time so dd14 could get a "feel" for it?

OKay, you had asked what do you do with the time when a child goes off to the first year of school. The short answer is that you still use the time to take care of the child! You just do the needful chores without the help, then have plenty of chatter and excitement later when you get to sit and listen!

Harmony, I have actually been feeling a little bad about my answer to you last night re: dr. He is probably trying to reassure you, as his patient, about the steroid shot and prescription he put you on, by comparing them to natural things in our bodies that are good for us. Hmmm .... .... the place of the injection is radiating pain now? You can't catch a break, can you? If things balance out, you are due to win a sweepstakes any time.

Thought of Jake as we walked through a pet store to consider a kitty-snuggler we did not buy.

A quick in and out...

I had my foot procedure done this morning. I "napped" while my dr worked on my big toe. He showed Sweetie my foot x-ray and explained he was able to manipulate my toe while injecting it. I thought he was only doing it once, bbut it's obvious by looking at my toe he must have shoot it up 4 times. It's still numb so it doesn't hurt, but I suspect it will be a bit tender tomorrow.

Poor nurse had problems starting my iv and stuck me twice before she ended up getting some one else to do it. I have very small veins which tend to roll or blow. Both happened with her. She was so upset, but I told her she didn't hurt me and many other techs have had the same problem. When all was said and done the gaggle of nurses who were there to assist kept telling me what a good sport I was.

I made my dinner (frozen lasagne again) and ate it.

Was watching a repeat of Newsroom which is an hour long so ended up cleaning the kitchen while watching the remainder of the show. So that Tuesday weekly set of chores is done.

Back in bed now since I was up for a while and moving around.

Edited to add: I got up after a while and did the weekly bathroom cleaning.

Dgbaby and I have visited all great-grandparents, eaten supper, and now he is dozing in his swing. Life is good.

Life would be GREAT if only Indiana could get well and be back home, with Jake, and US!
