I napped for an hour but not well due to the headache. Gave up, came down and took a 200 mg advil with some milk and a muffin and then ate my lunch. It took over an hour but the headache is now almost gone. Hope it stays away.

I've loaded the dishwasher, sorted the grocery flyers (ours come on Thursdays) and made an effort (along with the others) to figure out what board maintenance needs to be done. Indiana did leave us some details of her old routines so we've been reading her notes.

I wasn't going to say it, but tradition seems pleasant today.

Emptynester, they have no idea all the good you are doing for them. You WOULD think of the online manual info and follow through all the way to accomplishing it for them to have on hand. Wonder how long it's been since the manual-less sewing machine was gifted.

Saltines - I got the impression that my parents/grandparents believed saltines were of nutritional value. That becomes almost difficult to believe nowadays, since we can easily read nutrition data right on packages now. Actually, the concept that they would at least "absorb grease" is valid. Other than that, the next time I have an upset tummy I will hug them tight as a teddy bear and apologize for criticizing.

Yes, I am so glad I kept my utensil baskets. This one has the slots for utensil handles but my pattern is one of the types with a rose design on the end, and too wide for any but the largest slot. I don't know what I even could put into the smaller slots? Of course, I can use it with all the slot-holder part flipped up, but why bother?

Back home. Easy-peesy. The poor girl keeps apologizing for having to prick me so often but she does a wonderful job. We end up chatting for 3x as long as the actual draw takes. She is pleased I'm feeling so much better.

Dropped by the general store for a visit and we picked up corn for dinner. It will be that and leftover flank steak. Not sure what else. I'd like homemade french fries but I don't want to do the cleanup after.

How appropriate with our nostalgic discussions that we're going to Vidler's 5 & 10 tomorrow -probably 90 minutes away. Here's a link in you have time to waste. This store is 4 buildings long with 2 floors. Can't possibly cover it all. So will probably go to the departments we're interested in.
This store is an entertainment destination. Then we're all going to lunch somewhare.

On Aug. 2, I pm'd dIndiana when I realized that my check had not been cashed. She said she was waiting until they all came in before cashing them. So I am sure that all the checks are together.

Dee, Vidler's looks so much like Mast General Store in Valle Crucis in the NC mountains, of which I have happy vacation memories. Dd32 and family went there recently during a brief mountain vacation. Mast carefully separates now between the antique part for farm items and the more modern part with candies, etc. Dd and dsonil decided the boys shouldn't go through the antique part so Dd missed it, too, so that dsonil could see. But she said all of it was wonderful and they spent a long time. I believe Vidler's is doing a better job with their web page because they have more photos of the interior of the store, which is the kind of thing that would make me want to go. Mast has several smaller locations now, even into SC.

The fellow finally came to pick up the car.
