This a.m. yd. sale were productive for me got a pr. of wire cutters hope they work, and  super man tee shirt for hubby, a hooded flannel shirt for me and some yellow rubber boots lined for chores in wet weather I've been wanting some of those! I've washed those up as did not know where they've been. I'll do that again after they dry.

I have been to two berry patches today and got a gallon very happy.
Stopped and went to the farmer's mkt. when I realized I wanted to do that.
Asked if any one had hens and found a gal that did and had some she said they could sell.
Garden club in our area does not have a back yd. chicken program they were there and I heard some great turkey raising stories from them!

I did a store run and had lunch then back to a diff. berry patch this afternoon.
I've washed berries and they are in the freezer & fridge.

Picked up apples talked to the neighbor and drat the dog did not kill the skunk boo!
House is a disaster zone needs attn. better get on that.

I've folded one load of laundry.
Dishes are loaded.
Got the cage apart and back together the way I wanted to try it out that I got yesterday.

Exhausted again.

Went to bed and to sleep almost right away. Dozed in and out, hearing the clocks on occasion. Thought it was coming up on 4 when I took my eye-patch off but turns out it was 4:30 (that's when we had intended to go over!)

I got up, dressed in my African dress (colourful and very cool since it was over 90 out), straightened my hair, and put on makeup. Cut up the watermelon and arranged it on a disposable tray with a quart of strawberries and a pint of blueberries. I put the blueberries in 5 mini-disposable wine glasses.) The lid fit on and it looked great.

Got to the party at 5:30. People were thrilled to see me. This was my first time out in 3 weeks.

Dh kept checking on me and so after about 3 hours I felt it was time to go. Well, it was only 2 hours so I was a bit shocked. Aside from helping myself to food and standing for about 10 minutes, the rest of the time I was sitting but was completely worn out.

It is amazing to have my physical limits slap me in the face like that.

Anyway we are home and are going to watch some Monk now so I'll be in my recliner.

Kathryn, though I'm glad you were able to get out at all -so bummed that you still get so wrung out. This is all so strange with no definite diagnosis for the journey this has taken. Can hardly picture you in this mode.

We had dinner with DS-R and DDIL, dgs7. Had some small steaks and corn. Was plenty. I had one ear -which is probably going to show up as too much. For some reason my diabetic med doesn't seem to be working as well lately and my blood sugars have been too high. I really don't like the new med I'm on for sugar -I used to take 2 -5mg Glipizide twice a day. Insurance wouldn't cover it so she switched me to 10mg tablet twice a day. Still same amount but I have an awful time getting the 10mg one down and end up coughing it up as often as not. Not sure if there's a difference in the way it works.

Think I'll mosey down and see how tonight's band is. Usually too loud for me and don't stay long.

Well, Harriet, what can the school do if half the students show up 10 minutes late? Nothing but realize they didn't get the information out timely. That's a cute bookbag, but I'm struck at how big it is, and I'm thinking wow how heavy would that be loaded full? I assume you're taking the defective one back?

I completely crashed. We ate dinner DH brought home after he got done delivering the paperwork. I have done nothing else except sleep. Oh, I made the bed with clean sheets and emptied the dish drainer.

Going to see if I can:
fill water containers
clean out refrigerator
throw that turkey breast in the oven
clean up the rest of the kitchen

I have never been this unprepared for a storm. DH doesn't care. He never believes the reports. Did I ever tell you he didn't believe them about Charlie either and we were out in the wind/rain beginnings putting up shutters. Can't do that now with 2 houses...and this one has twice the windows...This isn't helping my anxiety level one bit.

I understand the getting worn out after just a bit of up time, Kathryn. It seems right that you'd be tired like this. I just don't know why some extra fluids in joints/tissues would be making me so.

Incredibly, I came to the board fairly early this morning and then before I could even post I got distracted and never made it back. Just wanted to tell Harmony that I had been thinking about her and Sunny when I realized this storm is very likely to impact them both. My IRL friend who lives in the area I formerly did, has been pulling anything that could become a missile into her garage (wonder if she left room for her car!) and that much farther north is much less likely to be seriously impacted unless the storm changes track from any of the present models. Praying for all who are in the path of that storm. And at the same time feeling very thankful I am no longer living there. I have a dd in the same area so am thinking about her and her dh too. I don't have time now to read all the posts.

But one other thing: I did read the rest of the posts from last night and learned for the first time that Lucylee is now a grandma. BIG congratulations, Lucylee. Babies and young children are such treasures. We no longer have infants in the family, but recently our TX dggd spent two weeks visiting. Our local dggd is the same age (3 months apart) - they will both be in Kindergarten this year, so needless to say they are growing up too fast for our tastes. Ds took the visiting one home Thursday - via plane flight - they were not about to put her into the care of a flight attendant - and will be returning home tomorrow afternoon.

So nice to see that piano avatar! So good to have you stop by, MamaP!

Had dinner with ds-R and ddil tonight. Then came home -my left arm is just throbbing tonight. (Before anyone thinks heart -it's from my injured shoulder, but it is the worst it's been for a while -not used to it throbbing like this. Pain yes quite often but this throbbing is disconcerting. Finally took a couple of tylenol hoping it would help. Think it has.)

Sat out by a campfire with dneighbor for a while tonight. Had a nice chat and it was just plain peaceful sitting out.

Going to bed soon. DH is eating clams (just before bed?) that dneighbor gave him tonight.

Have a good, quiet night everyone.
