I have been thinking about dIndiana and her dfamily today also. I lit a candle and signed her guestbook after cuop.

Saturday routine was done early this morning. We won't have any company today though; ds#1 only works till 5 pm, but two of dgkids are sick with colds/coughing and didn't want to spread it to us.

I'm feeling a little at loose ends today. Not only thinking about Indiana, but ddil#3 dstmom's memorial is this afternoon also. We're not going to that either. Ddil's ddad rented a room at one of the hotels on one of the local beaches for the day so family can visit at any time and stay as long as they want. At sunset whoever is there will release balloons in her memory. We don't really know anyone from her family and only met ddil's cousins, aunts, etc. when ds and she got married 14 years ago. But I did light a candle for dstmom today also.

Scattered....so glad you heard from your boss about a new position.

Cowinkie.....so good you had no lasting effects from lightning. My uncle was hit while standing on his front porch. He said he felt a little woozy and fuzzy headed for a while afterward.

Ivy....hope you feel better.

Harriet....thank you for birthday wishes for my dh. He is 73 today. He was born at home two months early. They carried him around on a pillow for a long time and had to feed him using an eyedropper. Turned out to be the tallest of all his siblings!

Put the sheets/towels from guest rooms in wash, need to get them folded and put away. Also need to call dfam#3 and see how they are. Looks like they are getting bad storms, too.

Lynlee, what a beautiful opening to our day! Thank you so much. Indiana was a very special person and much loved. She will be much missed.

Well my dears I have started using a list again. Don't know how long it will last. I've used them before for short periods of time. After forgetting to practice one day recently I decided I needed something to nudge my memory. On a day I am home all morning, I can go through my morning routine and get it all done, but if I have to go somewhere early it throws the whole day off! And I have a couple of things on there that have been bugging me for a long time. Now maybe I will hunker down and DO them.

I have been concerned about and praying for my sisters in NY state, dd in NYC area, and our SHE friend City, IN NYC. Will be glad to hear from all of them and know they are okay.

Oh wow, the candles are melting. That is incredible.

Happy Birthday to Sunny's DH! And 10 years ago today our DMom passed away.

I spent another couple hours working / organizing. I found renewal stickers for a couple vehicles and insurance papers which never got put into trucks. Yikes! I'd looked for those stickers but didn't see them so figured I'd already attached them to the license plates. No, they were lurking behind some other stuff...

It's still not done but a lot better. And dinner is over. I took a nap. But I've noticed my naps are shorter and I feel better afterwards. A sure sign of progress.

Hello again! I'm home... and have just watched the 2nd very disappointing ballgame of the season. Ten more to go. DH & his brother are pretty sure we've never been this bad before, and they seem quite certain we have the worst quarterback in all of college football. It's going to be a long ten weeks. Of course, dh is nothing if not a LOYAL fan, so we'll be seeing EVERY miserable moment of it, I'm sure. * sigh *

I slept a lot, going & coming, but I'm still tired.

The candle site is so nice... and I did think of dIndiana today, especially at the time of the memorial service. Indiana's positive attitude made such an impression on me. She was always so matter-of-fact, never feeling sorry for herself, never complaining, never worrying about whatever she had to deal with... and she tried so hard to teach me to take that attitude, b/c I have such a problem w/all those things! (And I have NOTHING to deal with, compared to her & so many of you! I realize that, believe me!) She was a great inspiration to me.

I try to keep scrapbooks like Kathryn & Harmony mentioned, also. I do have picture albums and keep them pretty well up-to-date also. I'm not obsessive about it, but about once or twice a year, I make sure all the loose pictures are in chronological order in albums. I use the scrapbooks for the extra stuff.

We are home safely, dh picked up milk and I took Ddogs for a walk. We had a late lunch in atl with ds, we practically had to threaten him to get him to have lunch. Already rec'd a temple related phone call, told caller I'd sleep on it and deal with it tomorrow hopefully.

Going to read a bit in bed. Dh is sleeping in front of tv with volume too loud!

Quick report: heard from one sister and all was well there. The other one doesn't have access to a computer but she is in a - well, not nursing home, but a care facility, and I am sure all is okay there. South of Albany and I haven't heard any reports of serious problems there. DD won't even think to report unless I ask her! I'll say this for her, on 9/11 she had the good sense to call me, knowing that I would have no idea how close her office was to the towers. But a severe storm? Forget it! LOL!

Sunday check in
I have 2 tea lights lit today, and lit another virtual one. I'm glad you all liked the candle site.
If I use a some of my strength and ability as Indiana used hers things will have to improve.

I've been to church/mass this morning, also readings and response prayer, and eaten breakfast.
Cut a weed tree sapling that ddog was tying himself to. treated the cut stem. Need to get under that tree as there are a mass of weedtree babies getting started under there.

Close call Cowinkle. Do you hear the crackle of the lightning as it zero's in to the earth nearby before the thunder? I have heard that on occassion and always catch my breath waiting till it lands where-ever... Wondering if thats already too late if its headed too close by.
