Hi
Booksaver! There's a LOT to CUOP today!
Twins' Mom, That's terrible that you lost your timer in the garage, but it's great you have several. I have 2 that I use a lot.
Kathryn, I napped for an HOUR, TOO!

DH built a fire in the fireplace insert, so it got so hot it put me to sleep!

You're going great on the chickens, etc.... It sounds like everything's coming right along nicely.
Harmony, Yes, I'm glad my ear/neck/scalp are better, too. My dr. is a D. O. (Dr. of Osteopathy) so he suggests things, whereas normal doctors don't. I'm very lucky to have him. Great reputation.
Scattered, Oh, your BFF needs to post?

That's sweet!

What kind of dog do you have?
MysteryWoman, Oh, how fun for you to win a prize in the raffle!
Hi
Cowinkie! Your card idea sounds like a good one, too.
Harriet, I read your post, but when I went to re-read it, to comment on it, it wasn't there, so it must've gone onto another page. But from memory, your history with writing sounds awesome! I just write short stories for adults. I took a correspondence children's writing course, only to discover how I hated writing for kids.

I don't know why because I have adult kids and grsns. So strange, but I just don't "get" it when it comes to writing for kids- at ALL. I really admire people who write for kids and people who write mysteries. I've never written a mystery, but they publish them in "Woman's World" as mini-mysteries. I've printed up info from on-line about writing mini-mysteries and have several of the Woman's World stories saved, to study. Someday I'll make it in there.
I've been reading on "Writing Lies for Fun & Profit," by Lawrence Block as a sort of "warm-up" exercise, before I begin to write. I worked on a short story today, will add more to it tomorrow, and I outlines a different one. I should do laundry, the mail came, but I didn't get any letters, so I'm caught up with pen pals.

DH's fireplace insert fire made it so warm in here that he had to push open the slider door and pull over the screen. His favorite days are Sat. because of exiting college football. If something's really exciting in a game, as he's sprawled out on the sofa, his legs and feet "wiggle" like HE'S playing football right along with those young men.

He played in college and gets so "into" the games. It's cute.

It gives me time to read and write. I'm so grateful he's not a demanding DH. 42 years now and I picked out a good model.
