Hello to everyone!

I am feeling like such a wishy-washy person tonight. I mean, more so than normal.
I really need to give a test SOON on the novel we have just completed. Thursday, field trip for a bunch of students... Friday, I'm going to have a substitute... Monday, not a good day for a test...
First I told kids, it will just have to be on Tuesday. Sorry to put it off so long, but that's the way it's gotta be.
Then dfriend/fellow teacher said, go ahead and let the sub give it. If they cheat, they cheat; let God sort 'em out.
So... I told the students, fine, it will be Friday w/the sub.
Then, when talking to dh, he said, "Well, I certainly wouldn't do that. You have made this out to be such a major big deal; I would make sure I was there when they took it. I don't care who the sub is; she is not going to watch them like you would."
He's right. * sigh * I didn't feel really good about giving it when I was going to be absent... so now I guess I'm going in tomorrow and tell them, sorry, I have changed my mind (again.) It will be Tuesday. That is my Final Answer. The ones on the field trip Thursday may arrive Friday expecting to take it, but they'll be pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised. It is what it is.
Would y'all just hate it if your child's teacher was acting like this? * sigh *

Ivy, did you see that I answered your question (Monday night, I think) about how I do my cards/etc.?

Ooohhh... scary accident in OKay's part of the village... and lots of changes on the horizon. (((BIG HUGS))) and good wishes that all the court stuff IS settled soon and y'all can get on with your lives!!!
(((HUGS))) re: dealing w/siblings & "ex" siblings-in-law... sad situations.
(((HUGS))) for LO -- hope he feels better soon!

Ddil called in sick tonight; feels like she has the flu. I worry about her calling in too often (since that was her problem w/first job, but people at this job knew that going in and seemed to think first job policy was a little unreasonable, so maybe she'll be okay.) But if she has the flu, of course, she has the flu. Definitely do NOT need sick aides working w/patients who may already have weakened immunity.
She reports that ds is doing a great job taking care of dgs.

LOL, helia!!! Nope... today is Wednesday.
One more school day for me this week. Definitely a good thing, from what I said earlier, I guess you would all agree.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to dd17!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

Still to do tonight:
X make sure dd14 logs in to acutane web site and does questions. We can't pick up her prescription until she has done this.
X check in to flight for tomorrow a.m.
X reserve a taxi; dh suggests this so that we don't have 2 cars parked at the airport. --DH kindly did this for me.
X check kid info letter, print it out. I have a packet of info ready for S and R. At times like this, I'm so glad R is an MD, just in case. . . .

Still need to pack. I have no idea how dressy we'll be in the evenings. I want to pack just carry on and I'm bringing some things for dh who is packing in a backpack. . .

Tomorrow, I MUST:
-pick up dd14's script
-moms group; cannot have intense conversations afterward and so end up staying until 1:30 like last week
-finish packing
-make sure animals are fed; load up chickens' feeder as I doubt the girls will remember this
-make sure house is sort of tidy

Taxi will be here at 1:45.

Good evening everyone! The maids have come and gone and my house smells good. I had dinner at church and Bible study and passed out some party invitations. Then I returned some library books and bought and put oil in my car. I checked the fluids in my car in preparation for a 4 hour drive on Friday, but now I don't know if that trip will occur. The people who organized it are bowing out and the only people left are myself, my XDH, and the person it looks like he left me for. And of course DD10. We are supposed to be camping. The person I think he left me for offered to help me with the Halloween party, but now she is not even planning on attending. Less complicated that way. I have looked at 3 companies for possible jobs and none of them have anything for me. I still need to download some instructions for my new-to-me printer and wash my hair.

I got some really good news today. My friend who had surgery for a large tumor found out it is benign.

Okay: Who says you can't be friends with DS's XSO? I still see my xBIL and his family and so do my parents!

Hi to everybody. Twins, is your heat fixed now?
Lilac, I sure hope DD2's business takes off successfully.
Dee, how cold is it there? You make it sound like it's 0°.

Like OKay, dinner was very late here, well non-existant. Did not get it into the oven. DD showed up earlier than thought and took up whole afternoon with getting DGD and dog settled, etc. I think she showed up with all of DGDs stuff! I just had a bite to eat. DH ate on the way to youth group. He was irked I hadn't fixed something..but he didn't do it either, so...

OKay, does this mean you would be selling your mpb? Sad about the accident. We had a cement truck run into a car just a few blocks from their plant and the girl was killed. I'm glad you weren't closer.

Harriet, I can surely tell the B12 is helping, but I still feel rather sickly. I can do a grocery shopping and not have to go to bed afterward, though I still can't do anything else after. I'm not a fan of coupons. It's always brand name stuff that I don't buy anyway. I have that pharmacy card, but the insurance drug benefit is better 99% of the time. And it's not free, it's $20.00 a year. It worked for one thing, that's why I bought it.

I called the pharmacy this morning. Nothing. I called the dr. office, got answering machine. Little later I called another dr. office number and got receptionist and she got someone on the line. Technically they have 72hours to get a prescription order in to a pharmacy...and I asked about ill people needing antibiotics, etc., and her reply was "we get to it as soon as we can"... but she promised to refax and call the pharmacy to make sure...but didn't. Another 3 hours, nothing at pharmacy yet. I left another message at dr. office telling them this is just unacceptable and if it wasn't taken care of I was coming in for a hard copy.

About 4:00 a VOLUNTEER from dr. office called to get information - wanted ME to tell her the millegrams I was supposed to get - and I just about lost it. I said I didn't remember for sure, it was not written down for me and they are the dr. I wasn't going to guess...and about 2 1/2 hours later pharmacy calls and says it's in.

All the upset of that just took every bit of energy I had. I think I must change drs. I cannot do this all the time. That place is way understaffed. I don't want a volunteer ordering my medicines, either.

DGD is doing fine. She is so much happier than when I had her last time. She's friendly and smiling. I walked her in little stroller around the block, took the dog with us. Then I took her to pharmacy with me and she did great. I brought back the medicine, and made the mistake of smelling it, yuck! I hope it works better than it smells.

Tomorrow will be early day, though I'm told she'll snuggle in bed for a while if she gets up too early. That sounds like a good idea to me!

Lucylee, I'm so sorry! I didn't see how you did your cards! I'll go back through Mon. posts and see if I can find it. :!:

OKay, The accident was so scary! (((((OKay))))) for you tonight, too.

Kathryn, Glad you didn't run out of gas! :!:

Waving to Harmony, Lilac, Dee, Scattered, Elizabeth, MT and everyone I've forgotten. (I always forget somebody.)

I took a nap with a bed jacket on, over my lounging pajamas, under 2 blankets, woke up so warm and red-cheeked! I was up too late and rose to early this a.m. I need to clean house, I have work to do on writing, bought a new Debbie Macomber book today, want to read that, and it just seems like there is so much to do.

One great thing is that DH got the ARC donation to the porch. Yesterday I purged magazines, then put an ARC sign on the magazine rack, to donate it, TOO! It was made of wrought iron, was hard to dust, and was just in the way.

I'm going to go look and see how Lucylee does her cards now, because it might just help me out!

Have a good night, Everyone! :D

Oh, Ivy, don't get your hopes up too high... my system is all good intentions and you know where that road leads... ;)

I exercised again tonight -- that makes two nights in a row, LOL, for the first time in a long time -- while watching the tv show Nashville. I think I may start watching tv again! It looks like a pretty good show. Hayden Paniterre (I'm pretty sure that is not spelled correctly) used to be in the Guiding Light.... long long ago, I guess. I loved that show.

Just feeling bad about changing my lesson plans AGAIN this week. If I reschedule the test back to Tuesday, that will be my 3rd version for the week. Probably no one really cares except me, and dh is right, I should be there when they take a major test like this. It doesn't count any more than any other test, but I'm thinking, what if they have questions about the questions... what if they don't get finished... I need to be there.
Also, if the sub doesn't have to give the test, I can leave the same assignment for all my ninth grade classes. Two classes are taking the test & two are not, so putting it off will simplify things a bit.
It just makes me look like the indecisive person I am. :(

(((BIG HUGS, Harmony))) I am just so sorry you are still feeling so miserable and having such trouble w/doctor's office on top of everything else! I hope dgd stays happy and you have a good visit with her!

Hmmm... Elizabeth... sounds like an awkward trip...
So glad you got good news about dfriend... and so sorry you still have no good news about jobs! Hang in there!
Tomorrow is another day.

:?: I have a question. :?:

Am I the only one who didn't know that CEO has a new book coming out on November 6 and that it is within an extremely well-known and high profile series of books? Or am I sharing news tonight? Check her Amazon page. Actually, you can also click on the mini-photograph of the book at the top of any of her own site pages or of the holiday pages I linked to in my first post of our Holiday Planning thread in Creative Home forum.

Anyway, big congratulations.

Dstepson is a supervisor at a concrete company and not only drives the trucks sometimes himself, but oversees many others who do. I'll tell him about the accident near OKay, although I do already know that he talks about the danger often. If a concrete truck is full, it is much more important to drive slowly and take turns carefully, I know I've heard him say. The weight is distributed differently than for other truck driving - it is even super important not to let a wheel dip off the side of the road I think.

helia, although I am not a party person I would have enjoyed the ride-along with you enough to brave it! :)

Harmony, what fun we had with the Duck crowd this evening, although we missed the first few minutes. I believe HRH had it set to record anyway.

Harmony... ... this is indeed confusing. If a dr decides to prescribe, it should be minutes before it is done. Either with some technological dispatch (which should be fastest, right?), or for heaven's sake just write down a couple lines on a trusty pad..... ? Ours has started doing the prescription messaging thing straight to the pharmacy you tell him (from a computer right in the exam room at the time), but he writes out the prescription, too so that you can show it if there's a question, since he assumes you might be driving right over there. So.... your dr's office is telling you their drs don't do it themselves but put it into a lineup with a 72-hour timeline? That is the least efficient thing I've ever heard.

I wish someone would tell me if I'm crazy to re-schedule that test a second time. Would you think your child's teacher had lost her mind if you were getting this report from your child?
