Ivy ~ Apron Day is a holiday that Harriet and I made up because we both like aprons. For me, it means a day when I don't have to leave the house, so I can get caught up on chores.

It also is a day I don't have to see anyone else but DH, so I don't have to put on makeup and can give my skin a rest.

Doctor said Glumetza was costly and wasn't covered by insurance. Doctor said Glumetza was coated metformin which made it slower release.
Exactly -it only cost me $10 for 30 day supply, but according to message from Med Co it will be $60/month at pharmacy or $125 for 3 months at Med Co. But I know Dr said metformin and I know that's the generic. I take 2 -10mg glipizide a day (morning & night) & now the metformin with dinner. I'm really going to have to monitor this for a bit and watch what's happening with my body. Hoping that what I felt today was mostly my flu shot. I always have this kind of reaction. Just when I think I've escaped it.

Dinner is done.

We don't have to put the garbage out tonight, that doesn't start until next week. In the meantime, I've printed off a new collection calendar for the laundry room (next to the door to the garage where we keep the garbage and recycle) and signed up to have their Google Calendar reminders so now my SHE system includes the garbage pickup schedule. That's kind of cool.

Dh is going to watch a movie on Netflix and I'll wash up the dishes and then do something else. I still have to write a travelog for my trip to Nova Scotia. With having to nap 2 hours a day, there wasn't any time for writing.

Home from a long day. Met with Rabbi at 8:30, then to work, after work to JCC for art exhibit and meeting. Home and have walked the ddogs so I can relax now. :D I actually had some downtime at work today and was able to make good use of it working on to temple to-dos.

Tomorrow I'm heading to dmom's to see what I can figure out about her computer - she says AVG says she has a virus? I could have gotten her in to see doc tomorrow but I just couldn't face it, and it would be a little less than three months anyway, so I was able to schedule next Friday. So glad we have a quiet weekend going, but dh has suggested we go to ATL so we'll see about that.

I slept poorly last night for the first half of the night. It seemed like I was awake often and both my back and hips felt achy. Once I got past about 1:30 a.m. I slept fine! I'm going to put my pajamas on and read now....

BookSaver, I see! Do you have a favorite apron that makes you more "productive" while wearing it than others? I DO! It's gold with green leaves and purple grapes on it. I don't know why :?: but when I wear that particular one, I get more done! :!:

Twins' Mom, Glad you get to relax now. :D

Kathryn, It's good your SHE Calendar system includes the garbage schedule. Good idea. Glad you got your nap, too.

Dee, I've never heard of that drug before. Isn't it something how some medications cost so much more than others? Dee, I sure hope you're feeling better this evening! How are you? Better, I hope.

OKay, Good luck when you meet with the lawyers, etc.... :D

Cowinkie, I've never heard of cooking chicken over a grill in a beer can. It sounds delicious though! :D

Sunny, I hope your weather won't be too bad for dfam#3 in VA! Oh, you have people all over to be concerned about! I have a few NY, SC, NC, VA, RI, DE pals/friends. I hope it just heads back out to sea and stays away! :!:

Helia, You sounded busy. Oh, emotional or stress eating is what I do, too! It's like a tranquilizer - food. Especially cookies. :o Hope all goes well.

I got my mouth night guard re-lined, the dentist told me there would be a small fee, but when I got out to the receptionist, she said there would be NO fee, it was HER "executive order" and to leave fast and have a nice day! So I have practically a new mouth guard for free. :D Then, DH said his hearing aid was broken, he had to go to the audiologist place, the woman there, showed him where a tiny speck of ear wax had gotten onto a little part and that was the problem. :D So he got fixed up. Later, he went to Costco, returned a pkg. of printer inks because our printer broke, he got a wireless printer, with a $79 rebate which was automatic at check-out. He came home and worked on and off at getting it set up, we printed on it and are very happy campers.

Now, tomorrow is Conga Friday and our damper to our fireplace insert broke. But DH's BFriend, has the exact same insert we do, his broke last year, so he knows how to fix it. He's dropping by to fix it tomorrow, so the fire is going out and then DH and his buddy are going out to celebrate DH's b-day. He turns 71 on Saturday. :D I've been tidying up the eating bar area and my end table, so we look tidier in here by the time he comes. DH scrubbed a toilet. Anyway, our day was so screwy at the beginning of it, I was totally rushed this morning, but it ended up to be a nice day towards the end of it, it's relaxing now, as we wind down. :D :D

Have a nice evening and a good night, Everyone! :D

Good evening everyone! I have been to a parent teacher conference and they want to refer DD10 to the school psychologist, which I think is a good idea. She is in 5th grade and has a tantrum daily.

Tonight's task is Halloween party related. I have brought in 8 HUGE bins + assorted other items from the shed and put them in the kitchen. I dusted and cleaned them off before bringing them in. I have finished cleaning the house except for my bedroom and bathroom. I have so much Halloween STUFF!

Tomorrow, DD and I will do some Halloween decorating, help set up the fundraiser at the cat show, more decorating. Then I have a doctor's appointment at 4:00 so she will have to go back to daycare, but only until her dad gets off work at 4:00. I should do my shopping for the party that night, or maybe I will let DD help with shopping, depends on schedule.

Well, I have scads of party stuff to set up, so I will see anyone who is still here at the TOTH.

LIttle bit of ta-da's to count today:
* VACUUMED HARD SURFACE FLOORS!!! (Y'all KNOW how long THAT had been on the to-do list.  )
* Graded some papers... slowly but surely, making progress...
-- Spent a LOT of time checking (and confirming) book reports that were plagarized. I have tried to convince students that if THEY can find it online, I can find it online. * sheesh *
* Laundry -- dh has done the towels & his clothes; I am finishing mine now b/c he wants EVERYTHING clean at once except the bare minimum we have on our backs... and I try my best to keep him AWAY from my clothes. Everything comes out as wrinkled as if had been shrink-wrapped when he does it!
* Went to CVS w/dh

Also -- I learned an important lesson I must share with you all.
Why it is important to stick to the routine and abide by good habits --
Reason #1

After one has developed the routine/good habit of s2s before computer time, it is much to be preferred that one sticks to the routine.
This morning, I was just dragging myself out of bed. I did not feel like doing my little 5-minute exercise routine, I did not feel like facing the shower, my stomach was upset and it was all I could do to get to the refrigerator, open my diet Pepsi, and sit down at the computer.
Maybe 5 minutes later, I went for the mouse and hit the drink bottle instead.
Yep... diet Pepsi all over the computer desk... all over the WALL behind it... all over the pile of cords beside it... good grief.
Well... at least I wasn't sleepy anymore. * sigh *

Waving to all y'all!!! :D

Oh, (((Cowinkie))) -- so glad you are feeling better finally!

(((Helia))) I am anxious to hear from the counselor's visit too! Keep us posted!

(((Elizabeth and dd)))

Hmmm... talking about $$$... I know the past year brought an addition to the family... but I really don't feel like we've spent that much on dgs yet. And the football trips... well... we've been taking football trips for the past 33 years...
I just don't know where the $$$ goes. I should learn to use one of those Quicken programs or something, but that seems sooo time consuming. It would be nice to see it all neatly organized into categories though.

Oh, Lucylee! Thank goodness you didn't pour soda into your computer.

(Harriet) maybe tomorrow will be better.

I've been here forever, just keep getting interrupted. Or stop to watch the program I'm watching beside me.

I did a big cleanup around here. I went through every room, made beds, cleaned 2 bathrooms, did major pickup everywhere, swept the front porch, pulled weeds in one of the front planters. It really looks better now.

Went to pickup some blueprints for DH but that shop closes an hour earlier. I'll have to go back in the morning.

Sheesh I'm sleepy. Off to bed.
