[Lilac]

scattered, I too have made up words. Recently when putting dgd3 in her carseat, I called the piece between her legs, that connects to the straps across her chest as "where is the doohickey". Friday I picked the girls up at daycare and when dgd3 got in her carseat, she grabbed the piece and said "I'm holding the doohickey for you". I laughed and laughed over that. A reminder that they really do hear and remember what grandma says.

Dh just called. His friends bike has broken down. The nearest HD dealership is at Waco, TX and 90 miles away. They are sending someone to pick it up and see what they can do. They had intended on being in Oklahoma City tonight. I don't see how they can make that now. Dd2 called after we hung up and she said why don't they just rent a U-haul truck and haul them home? Because they are men and that is too easy, might be the answer. I always send an extra set of socks and underwear anytime he/we are on a trip. He might find out why, if they don't get home tomorrow as planned.

Cowinkie, LOL over Sweetie's humor. My db does that with anyone that calls. He starts in on a tangent about how much $$$ his wife spends, blah, blah, blah. He doesn't quit until they hang up on him. One time he said he was just going to beat his wife. Then they were afraid that they would turn him in. So he leaves that out of his spiel now. Him and dsisil get a kick out of his various tirades with telemarketers.

Dd2 has decided to get a cleaning lady. I had thought about taking the job on for pay. Then I thought Nah. She found a lady who will do it once a week for $50.00 for the job. Yikes! I would have wanted more than that for a what will probably be a full days work. Although this lady may be able to do it in less time. Especially after she has been there a few times. I think it will be money well spent. With the business and 5 kids, she is stretched pretty thin as it is. The business is still going strong. On Saturday they had so many people that they put some in the party room.

Still haven't colored the hair or cleaned. You can always tell when I am in super procrastinating mode, I tend to post a lot.

Cowinkie - Sweetie has a truly twisted sense of humor... I Love IT!

Harmony - When we bought the house we inherited a 15-16 yr old outdoor cat, I had to put him down a year later when he developed a really nasty skin infection... not sure if it was due to a bite or not. We then got my DgirlKitty and 2 weeks later a DFriend gave us yet another Kitty this time a boy, we had them for over a year when I rescued an abandoned kitten at the prison where I worked. Shortly afterward DBkitty1 became a permanent outdoor cat since he would consistently poop in my house, and now DBKitty2 is a part time outdoor cat since he pee's in places when he is mad and that tends to be at night... they both like to be outside in fact DBKitty1 has not tried to come back in since he 1st got out. They stay in the neighborhood and since we live on a dead-end they will live a nice long life.

Kathryn - are you writing for a class?

Lilac - LOL at your DH... I don't have one but with 2 DS's I feel your pain, I think it must be a Y chromosome trait! Doohickey is definitely in my dictionary too. The sad thing is that I have such a huge vocabulary due to being a dedicated reader since I was <3 yrs (per family I could read before I could talk right) I use words that people think are made up and they really aren't.

Fridge/freezer is defrosting, Agnes is running (thanks to DS13), and yet another lol of linens is running. Bert & Ernie have been running continuously all day and none of it has been actual clothing.

Thanks for the giggle, Cowinkie. somebody else made me giggle -- but I've forgotten who, now. I once got a call about something from a person with a strong India-n accent. I was polite and curt and hung up quickly.

I do not have any regular bills set up to pull regularly from CCs. I think dh had set this one up with a CC. I probably was not happy w/ him when he did that. -OH, wait, my amazon was set up to pull automatically from my online CC -- but since that is now kaput, it won't do that anymore.

I'm making good progress on Hebrew. And the sun is out. And dfriend B has emailed and we will meet to go for a walk together tomorrow morning. Despite snafus, life is good.

ta-da My hair is now colored, I have showered and styled my hair. Don't plan on leaving the house, so didn't do makeup. At least with my hair done, I could leave home if I absolutely had to.

Wish I would have told dh to call after the bike is looked at instead of letting me know where they land for the night.

I have developed a dry cough. It starts if my throat gets dry and is a barky sound. Dgd18 mos has had the same problem. I need to remember to put a bottle of water in my purse, when I leave home.

Just had a cup of hot tea and that was soothing to my throat.

I better get the trash taken out before it gets dark. It is always an adjustment when the time changes either direction.

Scattered: Not writing for a class (yay! that's over now) but my life usually involves a fair bit of writing, especially if I get preaching gigs. Things have been quieter than normal because I've been sick but I'm getting to the point I want to get back to normal.

Coming up I have my article for the Family Christmas Newsletter, a blurb on the Resource Centre for both the newsletter and an email blast, a presentation to Worship Committee on the seminar I attended last month, and a letter to the national church re: funding they gave. Plus, the church service for Sunday.

When we travel, I write a detailed travelogue daily. I couldn't do that this past trip because I had to build nap-time into my day and I usually write an hour a day. I'm behind on my devotions as well, which are half-page compositions (which are sermon starters for me if/when I get preaching gigs.)

Whew, thats over now I'm exhausted!!! Hopefully once I get a break I can get dinner going and get a last wind so that I can get the last of my stuff done, have a strong feeling that my EVAL will have to wait until Wednesday but I really need to get my orders into NROWS.

The Fridge/Freezer is CLEAN!!! As I was cleaning it I realized that 1) I had not cleaned it in at least 3 yrs (YUCK) 2) there is a weird tray in the bottom of the freezer that is screwed in but REALLY nasty underneath 3) for a 2nd hand F/F that I've owned for over 6 yrs it's still going strong. I remember getting it from a DFriend who found it in a house he was cleaning out to remodel/flip for free and that my DMother hated it and wanted to replace it almost immediately. LOL I usually keep a hold of things till they die a horrible death.

Gonna take a 15 minute break and then it is time to cook. Making London broil which takes no time to cook.

Good Afternoon, Villagers!

It's nice to know you've arrived, Dee.

I can't cuop like I'd like to today. Slept well, but woke up weak. After breakfast, meds, supps,

I called the ins. co., 2 different offices, for 2 different things, and then the mail-in pharmacy. Also had to do call #4 to the lab business office to let her know ins. co. got their bill, is processing it now. Was relieved all calls went well. I wrote my questions out last night on my "to do" list.

Have been on the soft diet since Thurs., have Greek vanilla yogurt, puddings, Tapioca, and protein drinks. Haven't walked 30 min. a day since Thurs., so might be a reason I'm weak. I walked 30 today inside the house though. I've got a regular walking track around center-of-the-room arranged furniture, etc.. Napped a bit, twilight-like, this morning. I'm thinking about a cup of coffee to give me some zip. Don't want to do laundry or cleaning today because I did a few things last night and then felt so weak. I'm thankful for scrambled eggs, which help, too. (DH is a good cook.)

When I grew up, the scrambled eggs were dry, (DH's scrambled eggs are moist.) the French toast and pancakes were "smooshed" with the pancake griddle. DH's Dmom taught him to NOT "smoosh" them, but to let them cook light and fluffy, which is better, I think. They absorb syrup better. In our newlywed days, when I said, "But why aren't you SMOOSHING the pancakes like Mom and Dad do!?" DH said, "Are you CRAZY? Nobody in MY family smooshes anything!" It was so fun and funny to be a newlywed and learn new ways, as compared to my family. These funny little memories just surfaced and I don't know why!

The Monday Musings is a GR8 title to today, too!

Kathryn, One year, for the Christmas Family Newsletter, I wrote down everybody's names, ages of kids, and what happened during the year and put it into a rhythmic poem that was cute to read aloud. It made it different than the usual cut and dry ones. It was fun to compose the poem, too.

Lilac, What color is your hair now? I bet it's pretty.

Helia, I got a phone call, which was a wrong number, and the lady was looking for an office at the Fort for wives of servicemen. She sounded so worried, I said a little prayer for her and always have wondered if her DH passed away or if he was alive or what happened. My heart went out to her.

Once, I kept getting what I was thinking were crank calls. I'd answer the phone and the caller would say: "IS THIS TOO YOUNG TO DIE?" and I'd get scared and hang up! It kept happening for about 5 days, when I was really "creeped" out, so I called the phone company! The lady said they must have wired the circuits wrong and I was getting the calls for the actresses, actors, singers, etc... Like Marylin Monroe, Elvis, and others who died really young. These callers thought I was the sales office for the TV offer.

Scattered, Sorry to hear about your old cat. You've gotten TONS of stuff done today! (Are you wearing an APRON?)

Kathryn, Do you give sermons or is your writing for Sunday School? If it's for Sunday School, what is the age level of the participants?

I'm going to sign off, go read my to do list again, check my folder control card journal and get some coffee. I had all these "plans" last night, but today I've been tired. When we fall back and spring forward, it messes up my system for several days. Is anybody else like this, too? It happened to my Dmil, too.

Dh just called. They have been in Waco for 30 minutes. The truck that came for them had a flat tire on the way back and so they were delayed by that. I mentioned them renting a U-haul and dh said he could ride his bike and the other guy could rent a car. I asked about the bike and he didn't know about that. I guess they haven't thought that far ahead. Last night dh told me that instead of 2 out of town guys coming, only 1 came and that's why their shares of the condo was so much higher. Then they were to meet these "guys" in Oklahoma City and when they called the guy said well so and so didn't come and I decided to trailer my bike. By the way, I'm already here. Total lack of communication or respect for the others on that guys part. The logical thing would have been for him to ride his bike and let dhs friend trailer his bike to a HD dealership only 200 miles from here and not out of the way for that guy. But since that guy just did his own thing, dhs friend couldn't count on that guy.

Dh just called and the bike is fixed. Whatever it was, was what they suspected. The guy said that if he had tried to ride it after it messed up, whatever would have came loose and ruined his engine. So here it is 5:20 and they are going to head out. I hate this because dh hates, HATES to ride after dark, especially in an unfamiliar place. They will be on interstate for awhile but even then, it is dangerous because of deer. He will call me when they stop for the night. Did I mention I hate this? I thought so!

Ivy, yes it is a good title and I have done my share of musing today. My hair color is dark blonde. My hair is getting thinner due to all my meds. But dsisil is losing hers due to chemo, so I just remind myself that I am blessed to have hair.

Guess I will fix something for supper. Tomorrow I HAVE to buy groceries, whether I do anything else or not.

I've just done a quick run-through, cuop, and I want y'all to know, I AGREE 100% w/what Lilac & all the rest of you said...
I know I have a lot of trouble keeping MY mouth shut -- but I am really trying to work on that -- and REALLY trying to direct my comments at ds and not ddil... but I will point out to dh that we certainly should realize no one is FORCING them to live here, you know.
I do truly realize how blessed and how fortunate we are to have them so close by.

Tonight, for example, I was sorta looking forward to having the house to myself... and then...
DS called and wanted to know if dgs could come over here while dh watches ballgame w/ds @ ds's house.
Well... of course, I said that would be fine.
DS reported, "Ddil says she thinks two grown men should be able to watch one baby..." but ddil was going to bed, and ds wants to be able to watch the game w/out being interrupted for misc baby care. Ddil may be working tomorrow night, but whether she is or she isn't, apparently she has been awake about 36 hours. Not b/c of dgs, but b/c she gets her days and nights all mixed up w/her crazy work schedule. It's usually just two 12-hour night shifts per week, but it's not even always the same two nights... and then she has a weekend when she is totally on her own w/dgs... so she gets a little crazy.
So of course, I'm happy to help out.

Anyway. Those who are new to our village may not know... we're not Catholic; we're Methodist. This is just basically a "dedication" ceremony that has dh so stirred up. Ddil made the remark last night also, that she wasn't christened, and I told her, "Neither was I." But y'all know what sort of family dh's is... dh, his brother, ds, dnephew, dniece... ALL were christened, and dh seems to think the world will end if dgs is not.
Truly, I believe they want to have it done, and they WILL have it done... but probably not as soon as dh would like.

I will try to get back later to cuop better and maybe respond more. I'm sorry that sometimes (lots of times, I'm afraid) my posts are just all ME ME ME. But I think ds & dgs are going to be here soon, and I better sign off and get some stuff done before they arrive.
