Cowinkie,
I learned about St. Anthony being the Patrol Saint of Lost Articles on a soap opera about 25 years ago! And then a Catholic friend gave me his Novena card and now I've also got a booklet of his. My story about St. Anthony is that I told DD and Dgrson-16 now, about St. Anthony. Dgrson-16's father is atheist and DD is Episcopal like us, They're now divorced. Whenever our grson lost something, he'd call me long distance, to pray St. Anthony's Novena, he'd find the lost article and it drove the father "nuts" that St. Anthony answered prayers like that!
DD and dgrson took a vacation to Universal Studios in CA and we all live in WA State. They'd been on a tour, got there in a rental car, and it was near closing time, and dgrson called on their cell to tell me, "Please, pray to St. Anthony! Mom's forgot where she's parked the rental car and she can't find it and we've walked so long!" I prayed the prayer, we said good-bye and in 3 min. they called and they FOUND THE CAR! No fooling! So St. Anthony DOES do miracles! My grson has called me so many times in his 16 years, full of trust.
He really works wonders!
I helped a friend who is going through a very, very tough time of it today, via emails. I read on my Debbie Macomber book and am nearly 1/2 way. I did ankle PT exercises, iced and have been elevating. I let an accountant, from work, know, yes indeed, her deposit made it into my account, in Oct., but out statement's not posted until the first week in Nov., so she was fretting it didn't go through. She's such a dear sweet woman. I just love her.
I sorted the mail and the book written by an author with my DH's name, came, co-authored with a woman. It just is so cute to see my DH's name on the book.
We have a squirrel in our attic crawl space and I keep hearing him in my small office climbing around the rafters and such. Can't afford a critter control fetching person right now, so we're letting him be for now.
It's uncomfortable at the laptop at an angle on the desk with my ankle on a pillow on a folding chair, so I'm going to say good-bye now. I haven't done much today, except read and to order a great book on freelance writing.
DH told me he's giving me $50 for Christmas, so I told him, I'm giving him the same. He's getting shirts. I mended 1 of his shirts yesterday and 2 today. When I get my gift, I'll get journals and look for Debbie Macomber books at the used book store.
I'm glad I got the mending done.
I helped empty the DW, too. I can't forget that.
Monday Miracles is a good title to the day. Our power hasn't gone out in this storm and my book arrived in the mail. Also, I received 2 cards full of glitter and DH has a speck on his cheek and a speck in his mustache!
I smile when I look at him sparkle. Maybe he's a Christmas decoration early.
Take care and have a nice evening, too.
