Hello to Everyone! I've popped in a few times the last few days and it took a long time to cuop. There was a couple of days I didn't have the computer on, not that I was terribly busy but in and out of the house for errands or just doing stuff.

I was glad to read that health tests reports were good, and misplaced items have been found. Myself---I have been looking for an address book for almost a year, still hoping to find it!

Son#2 and family came Sun. afternoon for dinner. They are going to visit ddil's dmom and ddad tonight for the long weekend. So ddil roasted a turkey and they brought it yesterday and we provided all the side dishes and dessert for an early Thanksgiving. I put a good tablecloth on and we used my good china to make the dinner special. They knew we might be alone on Thursday and so wanted to share with us. Dh talked to ds#1 a couple of days ago to ask if they were coming here on Thanksgiving, but they wanted us to come there, so we will see them tomorrow.

I also managed to give myself a home perm over the weekend. Each time I do I say it will be the last time. What should take about a hour & a half takes me almost 3 hours and wipes me out! But when it's done I'm always glad I did it.

((Hugs)) for those not feeling well or having a rough time now. WTG for all the TaDas accomplished recently. Everyone is doing a great job! Safe travel wishes for those on their way to visit family or friends. Happy Thanksgiving Day to all!

I have eated dinner, read some, and updated and balanced the checkbook. Reading made me feel less mopey. I also had to take a migraine pill. I may use the good china for myself tomorrow, even though I would have to hand wash it. It hasn't been used in I don't know how long. Now, I think I will crochet with a mindless video for a while then go to bed.

(((((HUGS))))) to all who need some tonight! :!:

DD called. She's sick. She was sick all last week, throwing up, didn't know if it was stress, nerves or the flu. She got sick again today. She said she might go to the doctor Mon. to find out if anything's wrong or if it's stress-related to things at work. It's a high stress job.

So DH and I will be home alone. He'll watch football, roast our Jenny-O turkey, and I'll do what I want in the way of reading, writing, writing letters, crochet and laundry and "stuff", which would be rude to do if company was here.

I'm a bit disappointed, :( but I have a clean house, except I need to do kitchen counters, toilets tomorrow, and the place looks son nice! So this is a good thing. :!: :)

I have a beanie slouch striped hat and a beret, which looks like a slouch hat, I'd planned to give DD when she came here on Thanksgiving Day. I'll mail them in a mailer(s) on Monday. If the beanie slouch isn't her "thing", she knows a musician, recording artist, artist, writer of lyrics, who would look great in it. ;)

Elizabeth, I hope you'll use the good china for yourself, too. You're worth it! :D We should treat ourselves as well as we treat others and sometimes we forget that.

Sunny, I hope you'll find your address book! :!:

(((((Twins))))) I hope you get well soon! :!: :)

Harriet, I never had any luck with my kids keeping their rooms up either. So I'm not help either. I've heard about people making little control journals for kids though. And making a chart using stickers as reward incentives, too.

I guess I'll sign off now and re-plan out tomorrow since DD and dgrson-16 are no longer coming. It changes the day we had planned. It'll be quieter around here, except for DH's football. I can look at the cup half full, too. Maybe DH and I were meant to be home alone tomorrow.

Waving at everyone, (((♥))) to those who are ill or have things not working out quite right for the holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving. TTFN. :D

Hello to everyone!!!

I've made my contribution to Thanksgiving -- 6 dozen cookies -- and I will be taking rolls, paper cups, and a drink to the family gathering tomorrow.
Tonight we ate at dbil's. Dsisil wanted to do something so dmil could have a bit of a holiday with all of us, since they (dsisil & family) will be going to her parents' tomorrow. They went back and forth, back and forth with this decision, but her ddad couldn't settle on making the trip here, so dsisil settled it for him. She said she could just imagine her mom calling her tomorrow morning and saying, "He's backed out again." He's 90 years old and not in the very best of health, so I guess he's earned the right to be indecisive. ;) (I can certainly relate.)
Anyway, we had a nice time, and I took cookies & rolls there, too.

I also washed a load of clothes this afternoon and took a nap.
Did I mention that we went to see Lincoln last night? It was VERY good. Maybe a tiny bit loose w/some details, but overall, my history teacher in residence gave it a big thumbs up. And ALL the characters (except Grant) look just exactly like they do in the history books. I mean, it left us feeling like we had really been in the presence of Lincoln and his peers for 2.5 hours.

Dmom says she thinks my daunt said we should be at dstepgmother's house around 11:30.
* sheesh * I cannot believe this. I don't think we have EVER been ready to eat before 1:00 pm EVER at ANY occasion w/my family. I told dmom nothing has EVER happened at dgranddad's house before noon. My entire family is notoriously late for everything they ever do.
I told dmom I was just going to pretend I never called her and we would be there @ noon.
Then dh said, "Well, I don't want to miss dinner." * sheesh *

Talked to ds this afternoon.

I know I am rambling... I'm kinda tired tonight. I think I'll sign off.

I hope you ALL have a wonderful day tomorrow. May God bless you on this Thanksgiving and always.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hello, villagers ~
A moderately busy day.

Newsletter editor sent me the first draft late last night, so I waited until this morning to proofread it. Only a few changes to what was there, but I ended up needing to write an additional piece and re-send a couple important things she had forgotten to include. The issue doesn't need to go to the printer until Tuesday morning, so she still has plenty of time to do the corrections.

This afternoon I checked in with library group people to make sure we're ready to go for Saturday. We're doing a fund raiser at a book store. I'll be on duty from noon to 6, but it will be easy work, just handing out bookmarks and chatting with customers about book recommendations.

We had kind of a gloomy day so I made chicken soup with lentils and macaroni. One of those where you pull stuff out of the pantry and throw it in a pot with water to slow simmer. :)

Changed my mind about what to wear tomorrow, which meant doing an extra load of laundry. I realized that if I wear a skirt, I won't be able to play on the floor with the toddlers. I washed my navy slacks, and I'll decide which sweater to wear in the morning when I get the weather report. Last I heard, it's supposed to be relatively warm.

I made fudge a little while ago. It's cooling on the stove and I'll put it in the refrigerator before I go to bed.

Tomorrow morning I need to wash my hair and probably trim my bangs.

I've been listening to a Duck Dynasty marathon while I've been working tonight. I think I'll go watch the end of the episode before going up to get ready for bed.
