LucyLee - I LOVE that movie!!! We tease my DGpa that his theme song is "Born under a wanderin star"

Took a short nap then did really not much more than dinner and pull big bones out of stock and bigger pieces of skin. Gave the skin to the pets who are very happy and sleeping now. DS13 has checked on the linens which are taking a long time to dry (both sets are flannel). Had a nice talk with DAunt/BFF who has been dreadfully sick for 2 weeks with a nasty URI that turned into pericarditis (like I told her it did... yes I said I told you so, but nicely). She is feeling better which is good since today is her BDay. Then my laptop was held hostage by DS13 while he typed an essay, he doesn't have Office on his PC.

Need to make my bed and swap out lol in B&E. Hopefully I will have more energy tomorrow.

scattered -- I still haven't watched it!!! Boy -- it would have been a LOT better than the ballgame. * sheesh *

And I still don't have decorations on the tree.
Just don't know where to start...

Lucylee your perseverance and dh's offer to help at least got my floors cleaned. He did the damp mopping (and vacuumed the foyer floors) while I vacuumed and hand scrubbed the kitchen floor.

He thought it would be nicer for me to come home to a clean(er) house tomorrow night and he knew this task has been weighing on my mind.

I'm doing the bible reading for tomorrow and then going off to bed.

Hello everyone. What a day. Good grief.

2 out of the 3 DGSons were up at the crack of dawn. But they are the quiet 2 and were sitting with their computer when I came out. DH walked the dog outside to her chain. I felt like a truck ran me over, so it was slow going for a while.

I'd thought maybe I'd do the Christmas tree, thinking the kids would find it a fun activity and would help. Middle DGSon was happy to help carry the bins while I lifted them down off the high shelves, saving me many trips up and down the ladder. I put the tree together (4') and set it on the floor and we decorated it. Mostly DGD2 and me. 2 DGSons could have cared less about it, middle DGS helped a bit. After it was done I set it up on the table.

So while I had all the bins out I began setting everything else around. I got the whole inside of the house done. I think this is the earliest I've ever done that. Getting stuck doing a favor for someone at my computer later and out of reach of DKids, they went to town getting all the toys out, all the snacks out, pushing rug, furniture all around...when I got back there it looked like a tornado hit. Putting the games back into boxes and searching for pieces under furniture, I discovered the focus cleaning I hadn't been doing...and ended up getting the vacuum out and the mop, and now that family room is deep cleaned finally. I ran the vacuum in the rest of the house except for the bedrooms.

It was just an exhausting day. I did get much of the kitchen wiped down, another cupboard organized so I could put the paper products away...laundry is still piled up though and our bedroom looks awful..

Boys are in bed watching the end of a movie, DBaby is asleep... all I can say is parents these days raise their children way different than I did. I think I'm going to buy them all books on manners and being thoughtful; try to find a book that explains why they aren't the center of the universe. And why non-stop computer games and tv isn't good. (I remember not buying my kids a nintendo when they came out because they already spent too much time watching tv).

I don't know anything I've learned to do better. I do know several things I'm doing worse..

BWTG Lucylee! Twins, my DD2 was at the FL state / FL game today, her alma-mater lost!

Kids leave tomorrow afternoon late. I might go straight to bed.

(((Hang in there, dHarmony))) I must say that I admire you for decorating with dgrandkids present.

lucylee, you sound so happy and relaxed today. All this early decorating will help relieve a lot stress for you and you can concentrate on your shopping.

kathryn, I am so glad that your ds is able to stay with you.

helia, welcome home. Glad that the trip went well.

scattered, you had a lot of ta-das today.

Hello everyone! I've enjoyed seeing all your activities on here today.

We like "Paint Your Wagon", too! We laugh at parts of it that weren't supposed to be funny, though. Lee Marvin singing just cracks me up!

Changed sheets today--do this every 10 days, so I have to mark it on calendar. Sure cuts down on laundry. Did 2 other loads of laundry. Watched a movie from library and read some of a book.

Christmas cards are ready to mail...trying to hold off until next weekend. Wreath is on the front door, but no other decorating is done. Trying to decide which tree to use and where to put it. We have an extra-tall tree and a fat tree...decisions, decisions. :) Shopping is more than half done. I started picking up things as I saw them back in October. Don't like to shop and we tend to not go overboard. Looking forward to sharing some good meals with DD, DS and DDIL when they are here. I will cook some, but we plan to get Chinese take-out and also take them to our town's nicest restaurant. There is a movie DD wants to see that opens Christmas day, so we will go to that.

I'd better get off here. Need a yawning smilie.

Lilac - I don't feel like it... but then again it is much better than a few months ago when I first joined here. :D

I was flipping B&E and realized that the next lol was towels. I had recently read about how to "recharge" towels with vinegar and baking soda (not in the same load). I recently found a new site that I love for tips on how to really clean things. So I put all the dirty towels including all the ones hanging in the bathrooms and kitchen in Bert with >cup of vinegar and hot water (including a teapot full of boiling water). When it is done I will refill it with Hot water and 1/2 cup washing soda (all the sites say baking soda but I have more washing soda then baking soda).

DS13 and I managed to get all the linens and towels (an lol from last week  ) folded. I will put them away tomorrow. Going to finish watching "Angels & Demons" and create my l!$t for tomorrow.

Good Evening, Villagers! :D

Everybody's so rambunctious and busy, productive, and pooped- by now! (I'm imagining).
I worked for 4 hours on writing, got sick after lunch (tummy), took meds for it, rested, and slowly fed Bert & Ernie. Bert's spinning now, ready to fill Ernie and the last feeding into Bert goes soon and I'll be caught up for a few days. :!:
I got a few nice emails today, from Dsis, 2 BFF's. :D :D :D GR8 to hear from them.
We had a dry day today, beginning with thick fog.
The mail brought a pathology lab biopsy bill, which stated my insurance company was billed. Was pleased it was only $200, when I was told it could run between $250-$380! I'm happy about that not being higher!
The dawn simulator's set for tomorrow, need to get a.m. clothes out, write a to do and think of some poda items.
Need to write some letters, put postage stamps on Christmas cards, and write DH a Costco list for this week.
I didn't feel well for a few hours, didn't feel like eating, so ate a chicken extra noodles soup with a dinner roll. It sure hit the spot. :D
DH is watching a movie. I'm planning to pace my day tomorrow like I did today.
Gotta run! Bert just rang his bell at me. Can't let Ernie get hungry, so better get them fed before bedtime.

Have a good sleep, sweet dreams, and a wonderful Sunday tomorrow, too!
Goodnight, Villagers! :D

[x] watch the Other Team in the state have their way with us, wait for news re: coach's firing...
[x] talked to dmil and dmom on the phone
[x] talked to ds and dh when they came in from the massacre

STILL TO DO's * but not tonight!
There are just not enough hours in the day.
[ ] check Christmas card supply, etc.
[ ] begin Christmas cards
[ ] vacuum
[ ] s/s bathrooms
[ ] iron
[ ] grade papers
[ ] check grocery list
[ ] write check for paper delivery man

I am DEFINITELY pooped. My back hurts, my knees hurt... boy... this has been hard work. But dh & ds said it was the best thing they'd seen all day, when they drove up and the tree was lit and the candles were in the windows.

I guess I am pretty happy today. Exhausted, but happy. And I do like going through my ornaments. I just HATE putting up the lights. I'm going to relax awhile in there and enjoy it now.

Editing to say -- where did everyone go??? No one has been here since 8:00-something?

Well... good night, all (or actually, good morning, LOL! I've been napping on the couch and it's now after 1:00 a.m.!)
