Hectic couple of days. Big sanfu in our checking account because someone pushed the wrong button. It meant the check for the car bounced. And I have to fix it!!! GRRRR Hate doing service people's work.

Anywho. Dealership is being very nice about it and telling me not to worry - we'll get it all straightened out. Nice guys!!

Went to big city today and pick out appliances, fixtures, sinks, counter top, etc. for the remodel job. So next up is to put all of that in a folder for contractor.

MT - Oh no!!! Hope everything is straightened out soon, yet another reason I love my CU! No matter where I have gone in the US they always treat you like family and go above and beyond. It is the Navy CU and I love it.

Cowinkie - DS20 has suffered from ADD, (not ADHD) he doesn't have the bounce off the wall energetic behavior issues, just the inability to focus (I call it the Calvin syndrome as is Calvin & Hobbes). Before I ever agreed to put him on meds I took him off dyes and excess sugar. He was able to read ingredient list by the time he was in 1st grade, because he knew not to even bother asking if it had red food dye or too much sugar. :) He still is good about checking for it. When he was in elementary school certain teachers knew and would call if he missed his dose. He has been able to be off meds since 2008 and will increase his caffeine if he is having trouble which he has figured out is directly related to a lack of sleep. :D

OKay - I hope LO is better. Maybe you need to wrap him in anti-microbial bubble wrap!

Ivy - I have a basic Kindle and I can create "collections" and can archive on a mazon.com. I love it actually left it at the Dentist today and zoomed through W al-mart after they called so I could pick it up before they left. :D I love my Dentist!

Spending way to much time on here need to Wave to all the rest of the Villagers!

We had success in my family with diet for ADD too - both the excess energy and low energy types. Old style Feingold diet with additional exclusions rather than new style failsafe for me. I have a problem with the sulphate foods it leaves in. for me. Low - some moderate salicylates are ok. Remember asprin is a salicylate so it and nuerofon are "off" for me.
Cowinkle - water intake is definately a factor - also the food I eat for me. Watch out for hidden msg. food companies are calling it different things so you don't recognize it. 635 is beefed up msg - increases the effect. hydrolized vegetable protien or fermented grain concoctions were talked about at a lecture I went to. And bbq chicken eaten weekly can affect some folk all the time. The effect never does wear off.
http://fedup.com.au/fedup-newsletters/blog
might be of interest to some with all sorts of issues from youngsters to aging.

affecting me and headaches - often thru a muscle tension factor I think - maybe the chicken I ate last week, manderins, grapes, msg, dairy cheese with colouring, stone fruit, chocolate and cocoa powder. ok. much of them were cheating from feingold perspective. also water intake, sun, reading sometimes, laying "wrong" . Heat on back of my neck helps me to release the excess blood in my brain caused by muscle tension - an idea I once thought stupid but it works when nothing else does ... a suggestion from a neurologist when I said that when I was a child sitting outside until I was cold to the core released my headaches.

btw - when we first did the trial of the feingold diet in 82 - my complexion and energy improved, one dd calmed down and could do her school work far better, the other was 4 - "woke up" and played, spoke and interacted more.

grandchildren - seem to be self regulating except for colours in treats - I gave dds a card with the most likely artificials # culprits on it and don't know if they use it or not. Like with my dds as they got older, they need face the consequences of their choices.
Just begin.

enough.

I've been on the go since 3am. I'm going to stop regardless of what I didn't get done.

LO bump on his head is located between his eyes and is going to result in him having 2 black eyes. I'm debating on taking LO to doc office tomorrow to have the surgeon/nurse look at it to make sure this owie won't interfere with adenoid removal on Friday morning. I'm not sure where the adenoid is....I just know it is somewhere near the nose area and LO upper nose is definitely swollen and bruised. Surely we won't have to cancel his surgery for the second time. Surely not.

MPB is still down. DH is still working on it.

I'm suppose to give the judge a written status of what LO has been doing since his guardianship (almost 4 years). I thought this would be easy to do. However I find myself not able to put all the sentences that describe LO together in a sensible manner. Grrrr..... maybe sleeping on it will help.

Sleep tight Okay..
Lynnlee.....most of what I eat is natural not processed. I'm staying away from all grains and most dairy. However I do like my greek yogurt. I am the queen of pillows. Sweetie tease me about it all the time. I've had buckwheat, memory foam in many shapes and forms, and polyfoam. However down seems to work the best for me. Sometimes heat helps and other times cold packs do better. Especially when I'm having a headache.

The best results I've ever had is with obsipical blocks (sp) which are sterile shots in the back of my skull. I have to really brace myself and suck it in before I get a shot. However 5 mintute of extreme pain is worth being headache free for 3 months at a time. My family dr knew I had had these shots in the past and recommended this new dr because she does the same procedure. I have a history of mini strokes caused by my violent headaches. Thankfully it's been 2 years since I had a "thunder clap" headache. They come on so suddenly it's like being knocked to the ground. I would have called 911 for that one but my phone was 3 feet away from me, but I couldn't get up to get it.

I'm going to bed waving nitters to y'all

Scattered, I'm glad you got your Kindle a.s.a.p.! :D

I saw a quick weather report how storms are going to be hitting the West Coast for the next few days! :!:  :o I decided to go feed Bert & Ernie to do a laundry catch-up so we don't run out of anything or low on anything. Socks and underwear are washing now. Next will be dark clothes, like turtlenecks, crew necks, sweat pants, fleece tops. During storms these types of clothes are needed.

I went to Ravelry and printed up 2 Granny shawl patterns for free. One's a triangle one, but the other one's different. It's a Granny, but it looks like it has 3 sides, such as a back, side left and side right sides. So there is a seam at the shoulder, I'm thinking, so it lays down the front of the body and drapes nicely. No need to hold it on with your hands and no need to pin it. I did see a nice idea though, for shawls, which won't close and you have to hold them closed. One model had a wooden decorative stick, she wove in and out of the crochet, to hold her shawl closed. It was pretty. It looked like a chubby chop stick in darker wood. I imagine it can also be worn in the hair, if the hair's up into a bun. This what it may have originally been, too.

I'd better sign off for the night. Need to put out hot spots, get ready for tomorrow's crochet, storm, and whatever else Thursday brings us.

Goodnight, Everybody! Sweet Dreams, too! :D

I have eaten dinner, finished a book, marked up my resume with changes. I still need to type up the changes and wash my hair. I would like to crochet and watch a mindless video as my reward for getting the resume done, so I had better get on it!

It seems that now I have to clean up after a sick cat too. Bleah.

I'm off to bed too.

The shopping expedition was a success and we had a good time together. Money is very tight for her so we'll buy the gift certificates after Dec. 15. At the end of the day I asked if she wanted to check her bank balance (there was a branch of her bank in the parking lot) and she handed me her card and told me her pin and I went and got a balance for her. I knew she was worried but it looks like she'll have a couple of hundred to last for the next 2+ weeks and I know her home is stocked with enough food to last well past then. So she should be just fine. She'd never accept a bridge loan from me (I've tried) and insists on treating me to things and paying for gas. Today I let her pay for lunch and she bought me an ornament but I wouldn't let her pay for gas (since lunch cost more than the gas used.)

Her surgery on the 20th has been cancelled. It was at a regional hospital and with her asthma and weight (probably over close to 300) they didn't want to do the surgery because the risk of complications they can't handle is too high. So she is being referred to the big hospital in the city. She is very upset about that, not because she's anxious to get the lump out (she doesn't care since it is most likely benign) but because she was psyc'd up for it.

I came home and napped and then ds and I made up his stir fry that he likes and dh had Chinese. After dinner, I cleaned up the dishes and then ds and I went to the basement to watch West Wing and I tidied and inventoried the pantry cupboard. This time I only found 2 items that had expired (last time it was a green garbage bag full.) So I'm getting better about buying enough.

That's one big zone chore off my list. Tomorrow, while ds is napping, I'll empty the freezer, clean it and inventory it. Ds hates the sound of the scraping of the ice off the sides so I'll wait until he's well away (the room he is sleeping in is at the exact opposite corner and floor of the house.)

I'll feel better when I get the food inventoried and it will help making up meal plans for December.

Twins' Mom, I would totally get the basket - sounds like fun, although you might set a precedent of feeling you must do it every year. Hmmm... ... GT is way efficient at fund-raising, lol, do you remember me telling you we kept getting alumni fundraising mailers for years and dd32 didn't even end up going there, just got offered a scholarship and was automatically put on their money-request list.
I've been sewing...well drafting anyway. I have 1 quilt to go and not much time. Last evening I was not successful in planning it out, but today after sleeping on it I sat at my calculator and figured it out.

I love that stage in quiltmaking. It's so creative, problem-solving.

Cowinkie, yes dehydration can be a big deal and it's not just muscles. HRH had to learn that dehydration can bring on a gout attack, for instance - having to do with not flushing things out of the body as per usual, it can cause uric acid levels to spike. Maybe a similar syndrome could affect migraines. Btw, yes take CoQ10 but consider that the form called Ubiquinol would be most helpful for an adult - read up on it on the internet. They are pretty much the same thing but the body has to convert CoQ-10 to ubiquinol to use it and efficiency in converting decreases with age.

Oh, msg, yes that's significant, Lynlee and Cowinkie. Dsonil has realized he has terrible reaction to msg and now can't eat at some restaurants at all - KFC in particular, which you would not think of. Lynlee, you certainly did hit on the right diet for your girls then.

have to go brush teeth... yes I brush before getting them cleaned

lol, scattered I have a whole routine for days before an appt. I do extra flossing, etc.

Hi Sadie! So kind of you to do all the research.

Welcome back, Cathy. I didn't even know you could board fish - I'm out of the loop.

Dee, take photos in case that helps you understand hairdo for later.

3x5s change lives, Ivy!

OKay, please do check with pros to make sure this doesn't mean the surgery should be postponed. Poor LO!

I started to say that a change in years for surgery for Kathryn's dfriend would make an insurance difference perhaps in how much she would have to pay, in that you consider deductible, etc. LOL. I'm up too late I guess. I forgot in Canada it probably makes no difference at all. So I prob'ly need sleep.

See you later, alligator
After a while, crocodile
Bye-bye, butterfly
Give a hug, ladybug
Toodle-ee-oo, kangaroo
See you soon, raccoon
Time to go, buffalo
Can’t stay, blue jay
Mañana, iguana
The end, my friend!

I didn't know that fish could be boarded either. It was a Picasso Trigger. It needed to be fed differently than regular salt water fish. Once a day, Mike would throw in a few pieces of frozen brine shrimp or something like that.

I have put away almost all of the clean clothes. There is still stuff hanging to dry, plus all the swimsuits are hanging to dry along with some delicates.

I only tossed one thing into the dryer by mistake and laughed my head off when I took it out. It was something that I had just bought at Sears and it was less than $5. on a discount rack, so no huge financial loss and it wasn't that great anyway. Off to Goodwill it goes.
