Sending good vibes for something, for dd, Harriet. Do remember when dd was in early high school she entered a drawing in a contest and actually won! It was a stamp for the Philatelic society. It was to displayed at the Smithsonian -so that was her 'claim to fame'.

Went to a special dinner and presentation in our city. That was a wonderful memory!

Good Afternoon, Villagers!
My Ta Da:
I walked 30 minutes.
I helped put away stuff from Costco.
I put away towels.
I washed my bath robe and dark clothes.
I crocheted some more on the cat stuffed toy.
I said prayers for family, others, Villagers, and myself, pen and email pals, etc..
I wrote in my journal and listened to music.
I ate healthy today.
One of my pen pals signed a contract for her mystery book, they're picking out proofs for the cover and it might be published before Christmas!
I read my mail, such lovely ladies and nice cards, too.
I put the cards in the wall-hanging card holder.
I rested for about 10 min., then decided to go wash my face off with cold water, put eye gel in, and have a stiff cup of coffee.
DH bought me a pkg. of new pens. They are called Pilot G-2 07. There are so many beautiful colors.
DH bought us some all-occasion cards, which we went through and there are numerous b-day cards.
Helia, glad the tire's repaired. Safe driving!
Elizabeth, glad it's a small bump-up.
Blessed, hope DDyounger gets well soon. I didn't know you did ancestry things, too.
Scattered, Is "Agnes" the name of the DW? I use Bert & Ernie for the laundry, but haven't realized there may perhaps be a name for the DW.
Sadie, Thanks good news about Walmart!
Kathryn, You've been busy. How us DS doing now?
Mysterywoman, Good luck on decluttering. I had the misfortune to discover a box of papers to declutter in my bunny/craft room last night!
Harriet, Good luck to your DD on the art entry, too! Glad it's mailed by the deadline and hope she wins or places in the winning categories, too.
I was tired, but my walk, lunch and cup of coffee perked me up.
Reading my mail brought great joy, too. Oh, my. I have such lovely ladies for pen pals and lovely ladies here, too. I'm so fortunate to have everyone in my life. To feel a sense of community, when living out in the boondocks like this, it's so nice to come to a Village full of people and gab.
I thank you for this. It's just so nice to "pop" in and see how everybody's doing, WHAT everybody's doing and for instance, MysterWoman, you're decluttering, so it makes me think about my box to declutter, too!
And Harriet, your DD and her art entry, brings me back to art classes days and entries and I think about getting out my art supplies.
Have a wonderful afternoon and evening, Everyone.

Our dead "rat" in the garage turned out to be a little field mouse...I just saw the tail and it looked big! Anyway, it is gone now.
Supper of roasted carrots and potatoes with hamburger patties was a hit. Have a choice of watching a movie from the library or trying out the new wallpaper steamer...Getting pretty tired of the ongoing wallpaper removal, but we are in the homestretch towards pulling this place together in time for Christmas. So I will press onward...maybe.

Had a decent nap but short due to time constraints. Dh finished all the business cards and all the US and overseas cards on our family list so we took those to the post office in the market village (ours doesn't have stamps for parcels) and mailed them after my blood draw. (If we take foreign addressed letters/parcels to the post office and stamp them in front of the postal worker, we save the 13% tax on the stamps, which, for this batch of 57 cards and 7 calendars saved me $20.)
Dh also returned the DVD to the library and I got some grocery shopping done.
Dinner was easy (fish and chips from home) and I'm working on cleanup now. The dishwasher is running and the other dishes are done but the deep fryer hasn't cooled and drained yet.
Ds ate better (he had a frozen Stouffer's Entree, a few fries and blackberries for dessert.) He also sounds better, although I found out he's been taking 2 advils instead of 1 every 4 hours so that may be why, he's OD-ing!
I need to run a load of laundry now and then continue to work on paperwork taming. Or devotions.

Blessed I hope your DD feel better quickly. How are your floors coming? How nice that you have real wood floors.
Scattered, that's very smart of you to know how to fix your washing machine.
Ellyphant, something in our garden is eating tender plants. DH put mouse traps out there and it licked the peanut butter off without triggering the trap. So then he got Rat traps and tried those. Same thing. He's now calling them, it? houdini critters. He put something in a saucer last night and it wasn't touched. Smart critter. It's eating our little broccoli plants as they emerge. At least it's getting a healthy diet...
Oh, my little rice pack (it's a long oblong flannel stuffed with rice and a handle on each end) always feels slightly moist when I microwave it. I don't know why as I don't add any water, but it definitely isn't dry, just like helia said. It really helped my hands last evening. I use it for a stiff neck too.
Wishig Harriet's DD much success with her art submission.
Elizabeth, so sorry about your accident. I'm glad you weren't hurt.
I guess I overdid things when I sewed yesterday hour after hour... one wouldn't think it'd take that much energy, but it does. Much concentration, etc. So I needed a couple naps during the day today. I woke from the last one very releaved that my bad dream was not real. I was much concerned about my own bad car accident and lack of food in the house and overwhelming responsibilities for lots of people...sure was glad when I realized it was all a dream. I wonder how many of those things I am truly worried about in my subconscious. I am needing to do a shopping; I do feel bogged down being the only one who cooks around here...and I do worry about traffic, etc. I need to learn not to worry!
Business snafu right now, county office had us going into different agencies we'd rather not deal with...DH has been stuck at home for days while all this is sorted out..
editing: I forgot the most important thing! I had almost ALL my fabric out cutting little little pieces for days now, my dining room was filled with it. I didn't take the time to clean up as I went along... so I got my bins out of my closet and organized everything into colors, bagged, tagged and restored. I only left out the 3 colors I have left to use on this quilt. Amazing amount of work and it made such a difference! I have my dining room back once again.

Scattered, you had asked for Indiana's recipes. I posted the link to her site in the recipe section of SHEs in the Kitchen.
Here's a copy of the post with link:

I am in Atlanta tonight for continuing Ed tomorrow. Didn't get here until 8:45ish; after work I went home to pack a few things and feed and walk ddogs since dh bowls tonight.
I am tired. I verified late this afternoon that dsis had been moved. I also ordered the Hanukkah basket for ds, then found out that dd won't be home until the 13th so I found an online vendor that does a college student type Hanukkah basket for her.
Still basking in the successful meeting yesterday. Probably the largest attendance (including proxies) in a very long time. I sent an email today w the results to the congregation.
I also set up a meeting on Wednesday with a social worker regarding my dsis and what needs to be done there. Also email tonight that I need to be in office on Wednesday for a client meeting. Can't catch a break!

Hello again everyone! I am so tired, but I told myself I would do something on the job search, so here I am. I did get my shopping done, but have done nothing on clean up or cat care. Don't worry about the cats, they make sure they get taken care of! The house, well, that's another story. I am dragging myself out of here now to look at a job website. Bye.
