Lilac - No it wasn't DFS DS20 actually went and got him as soon as it was discovered, and he would have taken the higher priced items and my cash as he knows I always have some. No the doors weren't locked, but they will be from now on!
Time to set-up the tree.

I'm up from my nap. Dh needs to go to a town west of here so we'll go there for dinner. Ds has friends who live in that town and knows a good restaurant for us with the best fish and chips in the area (that's what I want.)
I plugged in some inside lights today and put them on a timer. They look nice. Haven't done a box of decorations yet today, though and still have stuff to do in the basement (our laundry was hung there to dry and needs to be carried upstairs and put away.) Oh, and there's the paperwork.....

Oh my goodness, (((
scattered)))!!! I'm also thinking a little police pressure might get a confession out of boys who were skipping school and probably have no alibi. But it is just so terrible that you are having to deal with this on top of everything else. Ooohhh... I bet you let some words fly when you saw what had happened!

(I would have, too!!!)

I wasn't able to do much with these papers. Spent awhile entering the wrong title number so I could renew my tags and ate up a lot of time. Neighbor kids next door were outside playing with Moses so I was periodically checking on them.
This time need to get rid of more papers and reboot laundry. Since company I work for indicated that jeans were okay for tonight I may wear nice jeans that are in the washer.
I will need to s2s before we leave...
LOL at Lucylee's "words flying!"

Blessed, hope DH's numbers are all good. Glad you got to talk a bit about it all.
(Scattered) that is awful. And I'm thinking doubly bad since you were in the house at the time. Let's hope you are able to get stuff back.
I've been running around like the chicken with its head cut off. Traffic is awful now and everything seems slow to get done. Went to the tag office to get 2 license plates, but I forgot the insurance information for the back of the application so that didn't get done (after my long wait). I went to 3 banks, with deposit, mortgage and charge. All this after a couple hours at my desk straightening everything out. We are still above water, though we are due a check for a large project that spanned 6 months and took all our extra money. Sure will be nice to get that caught up. The last inspector for gov't. agency comes through Monday and hopefully his paperwork will generate that check.
I got package put together and mailed away at the post office, christmas gifts for 3 DGKids in NC. I got lucky this time, everything fit in the one box I had with little room to spare.
I'm expecting the guys shortly and they'll want paychecks so I'll go get that out to be ready. We have an open house/christmas party to attend tonight also. Tomorrow is a wedding. Sunday is a funeral where I'm helping with the luncheon. Too busy.
I better get back to work here.

That's Southern, isn't it, Twins? "Let some words fly..." LOL.
Does anyone else say that?
* sigh *
Feeling kinda -- frustrated? DS just called, what were we doing?
I just told him -- we're about to go to grandma's, and then we are going Christmas shopping and to a movie.
Hmmm...
Asked if that messed up what THEY wanted to do?
No, no, just wondering if we could keep dgs either tonight OR tomorrow night, so they could go out and eat, etc.
Went to double-check w/dh re: tomorrow... and dh said, "I wanted to go to a movie tomorrow night, too. Aren't we keeping him Monday for them to go to Nashville?"
* sigh *
Told ds we could keep dgs if they would be home by 8:30 or so tomorrow night.
DS said, "It sounds like he doesn't want to keep him."
* sigh *
I tried to assure ds that tomorrow -- anytime/all day would be fine -- if they were home by 8:30. DS sounded like he believed me, that that would be do-able, said he'd check back with me tomorrow.
So frustrating. I want to be available for ds/ddil... AND I want dh to get to do what he wants to do, too.
* sigh *

Cowinkie said: can you set up some kind of rewards chart to help with your dgs situation??? Is there anyway y'all can just declare a "Do Over" and start fresh? Is the reason for all the extra work due to pass assignments not done??? Is he aware of the past problems with his mom and dad and is feeling the need for additional attention. What are his consequences for not doing his assignments??? I have some suggestions that might help. This kind of problem is what I worked on while working. PM me if you'd rather. I'll be glad to help.
Thanks! Rewards at this point are snacks; after a page done, he has been grounded for Dec. no friends and comes here as punishment / tutoring.
Math is current yea! He & his folks did that in the past few weeks.
Yep he's aware! Extra attn. wondering about that but this is pretty consistent behavior for him. Consequence for this is no sports / spring b.ball privileges revoked.
About the only thing that works is standing / sitting next to him and he will do it. Attitude is improving some what we both talked about how we felt after yesterday and "cleared the air". I see he-s.h.e.-ness tendencies happening.
Dd said he is "playing every one like a fiddle" trying to negotiate to get out of doing home work. It is consistently left at school. [As a 3rd grader in school I can so relate with what he's going through btdt! LOL!]
Would love suggestions! Thanks posting here is okay maybe it could help others as well and it's good for a discussion topic if you all don't mind.
Today's development: early release from school dd was not aware of, called her and she asked if I could go get him so I went over to get him tears of course b/c he was not getting his way. He was trying to pull a fast one so he could get out of homework and play w/ friends.
Sort days change play time schedule and it's just different as kids get older trying to explain to him it's a part of life. We did work through it. [I'd gotten donuts at the store and that seemed to help LOL!]
Spelling is the next subject of focus it seems knowing those grades will probably be the worst due to lack of attn.

Hi everyone! As expected, I got nada done on the house last night, because it was art class night. I have a looooong list for the weekend, including finishing up the picture organizing from the cruise, because one of my co-travelers is coming Wed. I went early to the lunch with friends and ordered before they got there, so I could make my doctors appointment. Last night I noticed there was an error in the dosage of one of my meds, so I have called the doctor. Unfortunately, she won't be back until Monday. Still doing reading at payroll.
Tonight, I will go crochet at the yarn store as usual. When they close at 7:00, I need to find Christmas gifts for two friends, I am thinking candles, maybe Christmassy ones. Also, I have got to pick up some postit notes! Then I need to wrap the gifts and something for the white elephant exchange. Gotta go back to reading.

Hello, villagers ~
It has taken a couple of days but I'm starting to get caught up with general chores around the house. Must focus on a bunch of desk work tonight.
I've not been as successful this week with the big picture goals, so must try to get back to those this weekend. Once again the part of the kitchen counter that I want to decorate for Christmas is buried under a bunch of stuff. Must dig that out and make it pretty.
I just checked my calendar for next week, and it is ... amazingly clear! Wow, think of how much I can get done to the house with no meetings interrupting the flow.
Lynlee ~ I'm glad you were able to help with the sewing issue, and came home with a bonus little sewing project for yourself/dgd.
Helia ~ Glad you're feeling better!
Okay ~ Sorry about the ruined decorations, hope none of them were family heirlooms.
Kathryn ~ Your talk of cupboards reminded me of an idea I thought up in the middle of the night to rearrange a couple of cupboards. Seems as though I'm constantly moving aside some things in front to get to the things in back. It makes more sense to switch them and have the things I currently use more often in front. There's another cupboard I need to ponder as well. It's full but we don't appear to be using anything from the back half, so I'm wondering what is back there and why we still have it.
Oh those middle-of-the-night ideas.

This one came as a result of trying to distract myself from a really dumb dream. One of those that started fine, taking a walk with friends, then we got lost, then we had to go to school but we were late and couldn't find our classrooms ... And of course my school days are long ago so a totally stupid situation!
