Talked to dsisil (dbs dw) and dm had called her. She said if dgd16 would have gotten that air out after this surgery she wouldn't be in this shape. Dsisil reminded dm that db had the same trouble after his gall bladder surgery. So she finally backed off on that. I guess that air bubble had showed up on the CT scan on Christmas Day and they thought that it would pass when she was no longer, blocked but for some reason it didn't. Dm thinks that since she had no trouble after her gall bladder surgery, no one else should either. Dm had surgery at 4 pm. At 8:30 pm they were dismissing her and she was throwing up. They had a 90 minute drive. The next morning, she got her nails done and drove 30 miles to spend the day with her hospitalized dm. We were thrilled that she did so well but she can't judge others recovery.
So I guess dm gave dsisil an earful. When something interfered with my paternal grandmothers plans, she could really get worked up over it. I remember my dm griping about this and now she does the exact same thing. Dsisil said they are calling for freezing rain and then snow on New Years Eve day. This morning our weather mentioned nothing and then at noon they are calling for snow that day. Dsisil said she would just as soon not have to worry about her traipsing out here by herself. My dm is so head strong and doesn't want to be told what to do. I don't know how we would ever handle her if she became dependent on us. I can tell you that as long as she knows her own name, she will be a force to be reckoned with!!!!!!!

Grr.............Dm just called and wanted to know if dgd16 is out of the hospital yet. Now dm is not whiny but has an attitude!
Called dd2 at the hospital. Her ex is bringing the boys at 5. So she will then take them and pick up the little girls and go home. If her ex isn't planning to stay at the hospital then I told her I could do that or watch the 4 kids. I told her I can do what she needs me to do, I just need her to tell me the when and where of it. She also said that dgd16 is nauseous and can't walk again. They had been having her take walks to get that air moving.

Scattered: Glad you have a plan to give up smoking. Good luck with that. It should go even better with others in your daily life also quitting. You'll have moral support and accountability.
Had a short nap, but long time in bed. Got caught up with y'all over the 26th and 27th, days I had skipped reading all the posts.
Dh and dsil are cleaning up the kitchen now and dh is gathering up the garbage to get it out.
I'm supposed to be writing a sermon. As this is my last chance to do so, I'll get to it, NOW!

Quick ci here... we're watching the Bowl game in Orlando (Rutgers-10/VA Tech-0) waiting to see if half-time show will air as dgd15VA is there with her band. She's in the color guard. We've had rain for several hours now and it looks like it's heading northeast, right for Orlando!
Thanks
Harmony. Yes, I have gone around to check the switch plates and wall plugs! Good luck getting the rest of your paperwork done!
((Lilac)), so sorry to read that dgd16 is in hospital again.
Kathryn, hope dsil's interviews are successful.
I didn't stay overly busy today. I did get daily routines done, kitchen detailed, lol (my clothes) done and sheets/p-cases from a different load folded & put away.
Hello to everyone; happy Saturday
Lynlee!
Editing to add...halftime is over and no show -- just all sports talk and commercials!

Sunny, I am sorry that you didn't get to see dgd15 at halftime. My dd2 went to Orlando in 1991. She was a sophomore and the band went there for the parade. They were able to go to Disney World and Sea World. We were able to see the parade and I can't remember the name of it, on the old T he N ashville N etwork (TNN) and we were able to record it.
I went and stayed with dgd16 while her dad went to supper with his wife. Dd2 had taken the boys with her and picked up the little girls and went home. Dd2 is planning to stay overnight at the hospital. Dgd16 boyfriend is at the shop, glazing and loading the kiln. He wants to go stay with her, a few hours after work. So dd2 asked dd1 and I if we want to see a late movie.

So we decided to do that. We'll either see "Parental Guidance" or "Guilt Trip". Talked to dm and she has definitely decided to not come. Her weather is sounding iffy for when she wants to go home and she decided not to take any chances. I am relieved that the decision is made with all that is going on. Dh told me he was trying to figure out a place to go while she was here. He would have been off the whole time. Dgd16 is still feeling nauseated. They are giving her something for it. When it lets up, they want her walking again. Her dad can get her to do that, where no one else has much luck.
I hope I can stay awake at the movie. While I was at the hospital, the male nurse and exsonil both came in and I was dozing.

I feel kind of funny going to the late show but dd2 never gets to go to any movies anymore, except to kids movies. I babysit dgd20mos and sometimes dgd3, if it is not a movie that would hold her attention.
